Try out different protein bars in the 200 Cal/20g of protein range. There are a ton in that range and everyone seems to have different ones that they prefer.

Soda Water... I drink a ton all day. No calories, no sugar, no caffeine (I drink black coffee if I want that) it has the same bubbly feeling without anything else. that's what worked for me anyways.

It's all a math equation... I have extra snacks in my desk for days I am hungry. If I eat more, I make sure to spend more time at the gym or outside working on the lawn, walking dog etc. If you set yourself up for success with healthy snacks around 200 calories, it shouldn't make it impossible to make it up with exercise.

This is all just a game and the only person keeping score is you. What rules you plan on following and how strict are up to you. You don't have to make a case to defend deficits or surplus to anyone but yourself. Focus on the long term.

What is BBQ Tea? It is either the best or worst tasting thing in the world. I need details. or do you mean tea that you will be drinking at a bbq?

Use a fitness tracker.. ie garmin, apple watch, fitbit etc to track such things... take the numbers with a grain of salt though. Every step whether it gives you calories to eat back is a step towards your goal.

You didn't put the weight on super quick; why do you need to lose the weight super quick? Developing a routine that you can maintain is the only way you can look for long term success.

Enjoy the rest and save up some energy for tomorrow's workout. Eating maintenance or even slightly less and you are still in the green.

I went on a tour of 30 Rock 5 years ago. When we got to his stage, the tour guide asked if anyone here was a fan of Doctor Oz... no one raised their hand.

A 50 calorie snack size Snickers shouldn't ruin your whole day... moderation works for me as opposed to abstaining from yummy snacks. You can walk off small snacks easily. I bought a 12 pack of the 40 calorie mini Cadbury crème eggs. One a day will last me two weeks and not knock off my deficit like the full size 160…

I think that may the problem many people have on this website. Everyone is "Playing" with so few calories to work with they are constantly getting super close one way or the other leading to not losing or even gaining. If people focused on eating a larger deficit/more workout calories they wouldn't be ruined by stupid…

I don't... no need when I barely eat 1700 and maintenance is 2400 and I don't input workouts.

Take a walk, get some sun, and burn some calories... save anything sweat related until you can shower.
-
Monthly.... I like to see those 5 lb drops every time.

Well, you already know you didn't eat 24,500 calories above maintenance last week. Just keep tracking, working out when possible, and drink plenty of water. Your body will lose the excess water weight you put on over the next few days. Don't let a few bad days and some water weight send you spiraling.

60 lbs is nothing at the gym. I was 315 lbs and 5'6 when I started. Just start going and you'll see people barely talk or even look at each other. Do not worry.

I am losing weight; eating well and working out when possible. She does the same in her own way. We are on a journey together and I have another 70 years with her, so there is no rush. Plus I truly believe she could kick my butt if she wanted, so I shouldn't say anything rude

Being only 30 lbs overweight means you should have no issue walking or going to the gym to burn extra calories. Wherever you land as your daily goal.. be it 1100 or 1500, exercising an hour a day would add in a few extra 100 calories for you to eat.

If you are working out and logging correctly, you have to trust you are doing everything correctly and give it time. Celebrate the fact that you aren't moving up on the scale and more importantly be excited about the progress you are making at the gym. Being 4 weeks in, you should notice the ability to move faster I your…

Get water from the restaurants... the carts charge, but if you go up to the windows inside places they will give you free water with ice.

I wish my parents had been more anti soda growing up. They eat tons of fast food, candy, and had soda back then... I think being open with your child and talking about how constantly consuming lots of calorie dense foods can be detrimental to ones health. The key is to not demonize anything and to say everything is ok in…

If you were eating a lot more, let's say 3k calories before this, it may be too drastic of a change. Some would suggest slowly converting to your new calorie goals would be a way to not shock your system too hard (lowering your calorie goal for the day by 100-200 per week until you get to 1500). If this new lifestyle…

Exercise more.... its easier to create a bigger deficit with what you are doing by adding 3-400 exercise calories instead of going below 1000 daily.
-
All eating out is guessing. A meal that is 800 calories even in the system could be 700 or 900. I would suggest rounding up on guessing... better to over estimate then to eat too much.

Maybe the pretzel was 7000 calories. Was it the size of a bicycle?

Cliff Builder's bars are 280 calories and 20g of protein. We use them now more as meal replacements due to the calories. They are delicious though.

workout... go for a walk, burn some calories and make today a success.

No need to track my veggies. They are always exactly where I left them.
