  • Windstar, if it is within an hour of your post, you can hover over the gear that appears in the upper right corner of your post. Click that, and it will allow you to edit your post. If you're adding your weekly weigh-in, you can cut and paste any post and change the info to yours. I've cut and pasted mine and put it in a…

  • Hi! I, too, am a night snacker. Bah. My height is between 5'8 and 5'10, depending on the day and time of day (back problems, I shrink sometimes. LOL), and I have just this week gotten under the 100lbs to lose mark. Woohoo! (Now having to lose 99.6.bs. Started at needing to lose 140lbs.) My calorie requirements to lose 2lbs…
  • TeaBea, because, as I have come to learn too late in life, when your body starts using muscle mass to fuel itself, we forget that the heart itself is a muscle, and therefore becomes part of the muscle mass your body is using for fuel. It results in heart arrythmias and worse. Now, THAT is sad. :/
  • Yes. Sexually molested from age 3 to 8, when I was old enough to finally tell someone, by my godfather. Then by my brother-in-law from 11 to 15 when I finally figured out a system to get him to stop. Weight, to me, meant safety for the longest time. To this day it still is an unconscious motivator to sabotage myself when I…
  • Good morning! I have so many limitations on what I can do it's rediculous. I have severe back pain due to a multitude of issues, my knees hurt constantly, I've had heart problems and strokes, and my daily stress would kill an elephant. My doctor has limited my exercise to no more than 10 minutes a day, and it has to be…
  • Hi, CF! I was on Atkins a few years back and lost a lot of weight with it until medical issues interferred and I gained it all back. Bummer. For the headaches, are you normally a big coffee/caffeine drinker? Maybe a bit of caffeine would help. As far as the fatigue, after day three or four, wow, your energy is going to…
  • Genetics (thanks, dad), and stress/busy life taking care of everyone else but me. Now I'm carving out time and effort for myself to do this as my health has suffered a great deal which isn't good for anybody. As you are a young male, may I suggest you visit the Air Force page and hunt up the link for "getting in shape to…
  • Just a thought, but while you aren't losing weight, perhaps you ARE losing fat and gaining muscle? This is a good thing, as muscles use more calories to maintain than fat, so you are making progress.
  • I just started myself. I have 140lbs to lose, and I'm not looking at this as a diet, but rather retraining myself to eat healthier so I can be a better me. (And maybe my back and knees won't hurt so much) I'm very inspired by those who have lost so much weight! 11, 17, 20l, 30bs seems like a dream to me. Congratulations to…
  • It's good you're keeping to your calories! Sometimes you don't feel like being "good" and eating the right things, but by sticking to your calories, you're not doing any harm. It does matter only insofar as if what you're eating is not filling or satisfying it will leave you hungry. Booo. In that case, what I would do is…
  • I agree with finding a scale you can use at the same day and same time once a week. Also, maybe until you can get your own scale to use, try using your measurements. Measure your biceps, your upper thighs, your waist, your chest. Those can also give you a good idea of how your new way of eating is helping you get healthy…
  • H, I saw it under the May Challenge, or whatever the chat name was. It's one of the goals for May I think, to eat 400 calories under your daily allowance, unless I misunderstood it. Always a possibility with me. But I just felt that was not a very good goal for a MFP "challenge."
  • Daily: Vitamin D3, cinnamon, blood pressure support, krill oil, alpha lipoic acid (for back pain), and one full strength aspirin. Going to be adding some Holy Basil soon for stress. I have to take a Vitamin B-12 shot every month, and I take three Valerian capsules when I feel panicky. :)
  • You're not alone, Kimmy. I'm 57, and was diagnosed last year with osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, degenerative disk desease, and bulging disks in my back. On top of my high blood pressure and TIAs, my doctor has limited my exercise or walking to ten minutes a day total. My physical limitations, along with taking care of…
