I want to live forever.

yesterday and part of today is gone. also my last weigh in is gone. the heck is going on with this site

I am a stress eater as well. Everyones situation is different but maybe talk to your doctor about medication. I'm on medication for this and while its not 100% cure it definately helps me... I still have to work and stay motivated to change... reach out to the support networks available to you.

Yup. Started up again last week.

Its funny, I don't really see a change in the mirror (Too gradual I guess) I'll have to look at a before picture and compare to today maybe. But the scale certainly doesn't lie. And the best test that really brought it home for me was all the clothing I had in the attic... I took out a box of stuff, washed it and it all…

I would not say the nutrition labels are accurate. However the variance is small enough to not matter for me. If you are really fit and micromanaging all the micronutrients and working to get a precise amount of body fat and muscle tissue you probably need to find a better way. Personally I just need to lose a buncha…

I'm down about 30 lbs. I cannot see it either... but what we see is subjective. My waist for example was 46.... its now 42, so even though I cannot see it... I can definitely measure it. The numbers don't lie.. rely on the objective evidence and you'll be far happier with the results.

251 lbs. so far so good !

I started off 65 days ago... needed (wanted) to lose 80lbs. lost 20 so far... so 60 more to go. Log cals on mfp every day... log everything.... and just maintain a calorie deficit from your bmr. It works.

I guess I have to agree. I've had people try to motivate me many times in the past and I just didn't care... I didn't think I needed to change. I wasn't ready I guess... but now I am. I've personally decided that I want a different life and that I need to make changes... that motivation though comes entirely from me and my…

I've been doing this forever. I cook just about everything in the oven. The only thing I don't do in the oven is pasta, frozen veg and boiled eggs. I started doing hamburgers inside the oven because I live in a small bachelor apt. and the ceiling over my oven is slanted and has no vent cover. I found grease would splash up…

Always happy to add a fellow Canadian.
-
This totally reminds me of my time in the military. All of those words were forbidden when speaking to someone of higher rank, the reasoning being that each implies that failure is a possible outcome... and in the military failure is never an acceptable outcome lol.

My tip is to read the FAQ for new users that join MFP. (comes in the welcome message I believe) The best take away from that (for me) was learning about satiation... and switching to foods that were high satiation but lower calories. ie: Chicken Breasts vs Lean hamburger. The breasts will satiate far better and are less…

I disagree. Trying is how humans learn. And there is not one fitness or diet or lifestyle change out there that fits everyone. You have to be positive for sure, but don't be afraid to try something because it sometimes take time to learn what works for you. Also you need to be prepared for failure and have a plan on how to…

For me I'm not doing anything different this time.... because this is the first and only time i've actually tried to take my health serious. I did a bit of research... read a lot of FAQs and posts on MFP here.... and then I just got to it... 45 days in... 15 lbs off... I think I'm off to a great start. It's going a lot…

I actually found with my scale that I could eat more because I was underestimating. Anyhow... what works for me is chicken, eggs and peanut butter on whole wheat. I eat other stuff too... but the chicken and eggs especially are low cals and very filling. I'm at about 45 days now... lost 15 lbs... and the only changes I…

Check any food you do add fro the list to the label on your product for accuracy. I've found that Canadian vs American nutrition info can have quite a large variance. Also products may vary based on which factory they come from or the recipe might have changed from previous versions.

The scale will definitely improve my accuracy in logging calories, though in honestly I don't think I was too far off since I am losing weight at a nice and steady pace all according to plan. It's not super expensive though and I want to keep the pace going.... I'll be weighing pretty much everything on it lol.
-
I think my doctor said I should be around 187 lbs. Well I have not been that weight since I was a teenager lol. I started @ 280... I'm 268 now... and I'm shooting for 200. I plan to stop @ 200 but who knows... I'll reevaluate when I get there, its a long way off yet so I'm not stressing the final number too much right now.
-
The PB+J is logged.... not sure when i got around to it... but I got in in there before midnight lol. How did I become overweight.... well that's embarrassing.... truth is I had horrible eating habits prior to MFP and reading the nutrition labels. LOTS of hamburgers, poutine, pizza... potato chips, soda pop. Just…

Because everything I've ever heard or read about weight loss indicates that consuming less than 1200 cals a day is supposedly unhealthy and can cause problems. So I force myself to get at least that much in me per day.
-
I am pretty sedentary... it wouldn't surprise me if that's the issue.
-
I went up town for groceries... I logged it but its not much. about 25 mins @ 2.5mph pace.
-
I personally have not. But unless there is some serious medical urgency I would advise against it. I have a friend who did this and it did not work out in the end, ie: the weight came back and fast and she also suffered a period of time where she was quite ill. I believe you need to make permanent lifestyle changes for it…

#AlternativeWords Maybe they should change it to *covfefe* lol

I'm not really trying to be honest.... im just going at a natural pace it feels like. I think every 10 lbs lost I'll try something different. Like after the next 10 come off... I'll start looking at carbs/protien limits or sodium. right now im just kinda ignoring everything reported except for calories. 10 after that... I…
-
I often struggle to hit 1300/day now tbh. later in the evening... if im not over 1300... i'll grab an apple or some oatmeal so that MFB doesn't get angry and post all kinds of warnings at me lol. Forcing myself to eat...ugh. But...I'm using portions that are prepacked... I dont actually have a scale... so there may be a…

I know nothing about this diet. but when I was 18 I joined the canadian armed forces reserve and served for about 5 years. On coarse when training we ate exclusively at the mess... and we ate like pretty bad stuff and tons of it. I mean we ate probably 2-3x what a normal person would... so much food lol. The rub though is…
