whew! 68 posts to catch up on! Well, had the TEE procedure last week. While I was coming out of anesthesia, the doctor told DD that everything looked good, that there was a tiny hole in the wall of my heart but that its actually a common thing and nothing to worry about. Then the dr office called next day and set me up an…

oh, for those that don't know, I better explain HPCON - that is a military acronym for Health Protection Conditions. I am used to throwing around acronyms like that and sometimes forget not everyone knows what they are. just remind me to explain if i do that again....

Had a little send off for my supervisor today. Hate to see him go but with the position/pay he was offered, the decision was a no-brainer! He did say that when/if he gets in position to bring in an admin, it will be me. I am not holding my breath on that, of course. Missy - keeping my fingers crossed for you & the new…

Consultation with cardiologist this morning resulted in 3 more appointments and scheduled the TEE. Doctor seemed knowledgable & was nice. He took time to explain the entire procedure to me and explained why they choose to do that particular test. He said my stroke is considered "cryptogenic" which basically means they cant…

Ohhh, I wish we could get some of that rain!! there is a drought going on here with the last measurable rainfall was back in August! Our pond is just a mudpuddle. I have lost several of my plants to lack of water. :( The swap meet went sorta well. There were 27 vendors but not many people showed up to buy. Several people…

Have missed about a month on here! Things have been more than hectic with my SIL having double mastectomy, my sister having heart surgery, and my daughter having her thyroid removed. Throw in work, Jeep trips, money problems, issues at work, and bring to a low boil..... that has been my month! With travel and days at…

Sara - what were the helicopters for? we live in the flight path between local military installations. I am so used to hearing Blackhawks and C130s roaring overhead that I barely notice them any more. that being said, none of them have ever been yelling to lock my doors! what on earth is happening out on the left coast??…

back is feeling a little better. have been doing stretches and using a CBD muscle cream. sitting at home with a bad back was not the way i wanted to spend my birthday yesterday, but on the bright side, there was no cake or sweets to cause me to cheat or overeat! remnants of Laura must be hitting us here. lots of wind,…

My sister got a 3-for-1 surgery last Monday. She went in for gastric bypass surgery and was having gall bladder issues, so the dr agreed to remove gall bladder while he was in there. While that was going on, they discovered a hernia, so he stitched that up while he was in there too. She is extremely sore but got everything…

Try as i might, every time i try to get some exercise in, something happens - people stop by, work calls, a pet gets sick, the power goes out, a migraine hits, etc etc I am getting exasperated!

There is a local service, cant think of the name right now, where they come to your home, help you do a special day for your pet, do the euthanasia with all family around, take care of the cremation, and return the cremains and any other thing you requested like paw print, snip of hair, etc. Friends of ours used it for…

News in my neighborhood--- the Bassett Hound/Corgi mix the neighbors adopted a few weeks ago had her puppies! (They were unaware she was pregnant when they adopted her until they took her to vet to be spayed. It was quite an unexpected surprise!) She went into labor this morning and by 5pm had 10 puppies!! Unfortunately,…

Sara - actually have had a couple co-workers go through transgender process and procedures. I had to tell them that I knew I would forget and call them by the wrong name/pronoun and to be patient with me. They allowed me to ask honest questions but I would ask them only when they were in a mood/position/situation to…

I've managed to log everything for the past 5 days. Now to keep that up! I have started weighing every morning instead of once a week (mainly because I would forget). Its amazing how far your weight can fluctuate from day to day - especially after high sodium intake. Its kinda neat to see the zig-zag of the daily weigh…

Monday is off to a rip roaring start - first thing was discovering all the slides I made for presentation this morning suddenly have broken hyperlinks. Had to correct all of them 6 minutes before the meeting. GAH! Storms moved through last night giving us much needed rain. Unfortunately, that also means more humidity. Temp…

Dawn, I am so sorry to hear about your DD. Call the hospital and see what the options are for seeing him. If you feel that strongly about going, then go. Keep your distance, do the PPE and disinfection thing, and support your mother as much as you can safely. If you find you cannot go, see what they can do about setting up…

Hey all..... finally in the office today. we are "phasing in" our team as we return to work. Indiana has been slowly getting things back open and running. The governor has actually moved up the third phase by a few days because things have been going better than expected. For the most part, people have been cooperating…
