My apologies @Iamnotasenior and @cmriverside . What I should have said is that certain individuals are genetically susceptible to being obese through a number of causes. Eating is only one of these. I'm not even sure how it got to this point, because this was never a part of my original post.

Typically those who are genetically obese or overweight. They can eat at a deficit regularly, but are not able to lose weight the same as others. Regularly eating at a deficit is what I mean by disordered eating. Of course if one exercises regularly, it is hard to replenish all the calories burned. So there is a…

I don't disagree with you, but I did not say that food is the enemy. In fact what I said was, we should enjoy it, but stop complaining when you see the calorie count next to the menu item. MFP is good for those who have things managed well. I'd be curious to know the percentages of those who actually micro-manage their…

You are correct, but there are also certain pizza options that may not be the best choice. As much as I love to eat it, the 'Meat Lovers' is probably on the lower end of the scale.

The challenge with that is genetics. Good and bad have quite a bit to do with it, depending on how your body reacts to certain foods. Even if you eat at a deficit, some people are not able to lose weight. My point is, if you see something that you really want to eat, than eat it. And yes, pay attention to what you want to…

For me it's squash, turnip, brussel sprouts, and peas. With that said, if everything were wrapped in bacon, I may change my views. ;)

Being one's self, and not being fake or trying to be someone you're not. Personality is a key component when it comes down to it. As for physical features in a woman...captivating eyes and a beautiful smile to go with it, can go a long ways in my books.

Absolutely!!

Motivation is key, especially in getting through all the choices in the buffet line. Don't get me started on dessert either!! ;) Feel free to add me.

It's never easy coming back from an injury like that, but all one can suggest is to go at your own pace and don't rush back too quick. It can be easy to re-injure yourself, so take a break when it's needed. All the best!

Nope! Ali has me beat, hands down!!

If he's wearing lycra...I might have to pass.

All the best! I have no doubt you'll do great!!

Welcome back! Added motivation is always good. Add me as well.

Ummm...yep. Accept!

Nod and say, 'wassaaapp'!!

If anyone is looking for a mentor, I would be more than willing to help where I can. I have taken a couple of people under my wing so far, and to be honest, helping them helps me on my own journey as well. We can gain from a little motivation some times. ;)

Bienvenue et bon chance.

It all depends on the bike you are spinning on, and what other data it provides (if any). If all it does is let you know how many calories you approximately burned, you should track how long you were on the bike for as well. That will provide better tracking on MFP, but there are other apps that can provide more data that…

Building confidence is key, and we're all here to help. It's ok to be selfish once in a while, especially while you work on the things that make you happy. Hold your head high, and all the best.

Have you considered trying HIIT workouts? It would help strengthen those muscles by using body weight, and it of course incorporates the cardio side of things as well. There are a million apps out there that could be good, and you can do them for free at home. It would be a good start, and then when the time comes when you…

Nope! I'm not looking for money at all, but am more than willing to help others achieve their goals, as others have helped me. Thanks for immediately assuming though.

I could help get things started, if you're interested. Training for a full marathon is no east feat, and more is needed than what you did for the half you ran in the spring. I am currently helping another MFP friend go through the same training process for his race in October, and I am quite familiar with "running on…

I hear you! The key word in this is "support". Regardless if others have different goals (which is totally fine), they still need to be supportive with what you are working towards. The main thing is that you are doing this for you, and making these changes in a healthy way, that is what matters. As soon as someone or…

Crazy Canuck here! Feel free to add me, and anyone else on this thread.

My suggestion is if you have a favorite beer you like to drink, then choose that over something that doesn't have any flavor. If you are picking a light beer because there is a belief that it is better for you and there are fewer calories, you may as well drink water instead. And what fun is that?!! Enjoy the beer you like…

Answer #1 - Yes Answer #2 - We can definitely work on a plan that works for you. If you want, I can send you a message to help get you started. By the looks of things though, you are already on a good path.

Ahh...the dark side...it's never a good thing. I think we've all been there at some point. On that note, I'm in need of extra motivation and support, and would be happy to return the favor. I'll send you an 'add'.

First of all, we need to work on changing that word "fat" to something with a more positive spin. I'll let you come up with something fun, but in my experience, people can still live healthy lives as a + size. On the other hand, if you have the determination to achieve a specific goal, lets get started!! As for your…
