  • Pretty much every adult in my family was and most still are obese. I blame this on the way we were shown to eat. We did a family dinner every Sunday. Most of the time the meals would be something like this: Spaghetti, fried potatoes, and garlic bread. Or Meat loaf, mash potatoes, rolls, and mac and cheese. I never noticed…
  • Agreed I thought WOO ment to cheer about things. not as an insult.
  • I tend to only take it one day at a time. Only when I have things planed for the weekend to I look ahead. We stopped by junk foods so that way it is easier to take it 1 day at a time. I try to input all my calories first thing in the morning so I can play with the numbers if I want something extra. This past weekend was my…
  • I was a chef for many years. I lost 30 pounds before my wedding while working 60 plus hours a week cooking and going to school to be a chef. My tricks was to eat before starting work (I started work at 4:30 am. So I usually ate before I completed any food around 6 am. I kept my water or coffee very close to me so I would…
  • Yoga with Adriene on Youtube. I love her.
  • I would rather have a doctor tell me how it is. I have been to many doctors over the years. I know that I need to loose weight but I felt like nothing was working. They never said anything. My last doctor, she point me to here, told me about my weight. We talked I showed her my APP I was losing and the amount of calories.…
  • I wear alot of legging in the winter so am going to try to make it through winter. I also have 2 pair of jeans in the next 2 sizes down because I don't get rid of close. The only thing I plan on purchasing is undies and bras until I get where I want to be even then I am not going to spend a ton of money of those. I will…
  • Right now I want to see what 170 looks like. Before I go a car and quit walking everywhere I was 150. I really like 150 but I am lifting now (pretty new) so 150 may not look as good. 170 and we will go from there.
  • It will give you an adjustment if you go over you active level. I have mine set to sedentary because I work in an office. I normally don't get an adjustment until 3,500 to 4,500 steps.
  • If they are diabetic Bananas contain more sugars than most fruit because it is carb heavy. Working in a nursing home we only gave 1/2 banana to a diabetic at a time.
  • My biggest hurdle was learning how to eat foods I love in moderation. At first I did have to do away with the carbs, chocolates, and other treats because I knew I didn't have the self control to stop a serving. at 1.5 months of not having those items I started bringing them back. So far so good. I don't have them everyday…
  • I also had a sugar problem. I got rid of all sugars for 1.5 months in my diet (no candy, cake, sugary drinks, no sugar in my coffee) When I wanted something sweet I would get a piece of fruit. I have brought them back slowly but I have noticed I don't crave them or want them as much. I use to eat 2 Hersey bars in one…
  • Me too. I also have better weighs the next morning if I make sure to eat before 7. Probably because I am not up all night with that full feeling.
  • My parents didn't necessary band all junk foods but we were told that they are for adults and when we had money we could buy them. Every single on of us (there are 7 of us) gain weight (are or was overweight) when we were able to buy our own food because my parents would not allow us to have it. It is about teaching them…
  • I agree you can't cut all of that out just make it a treat or an everything other thing. The only way to teach them moderation is to allow by in smaller amount. When my nieces and nephews come over, I buy cereal and we have it as part of our brunch. It isn't the main item just a side.
  • I lady I worked with lost all her hair and wears wigs. Last year she was diagnosis with a gluten intolerance. Since she has stopped eating gluten her hair has started to grow back.
  • I try to take walks when I am home if I am wanting a snack but not hungry. I also double my activity when I am at home than the office so I do eat more on the weekends and shorter days.
  • I was always bigger than my older sister growing up. I over took her when I was eight. I am also 10 inches taller than her. I didn't become overweight until I was a teen with a car. First thing to start would be taking away the junk foods. Maybe not eliminate them completely because when they get out that is the first…
  • Only if I planning on taking a poop 10 minutes in.
  • I also gain this past week and still have not lost. My sodium intake has been higher than normal and I started to weight lift last week. I not to worried because I weight and measure everything. I have read it can take 3-4 weeks after a new exercise for your body to start loosing again. Give it a week and see what the…
  • Are you wanting to go low carb because you see yourself eating out a lot? Is it easier to make meal choices by going low carb? I find when I go out to eat I try to find item with low carb because then I can't blow my day in one sitting.
  • I use to work in a nursing home. Most of your normal meals can be made into a puree. With gravy is best but that is a lot of extra calories.
  • Halloween is my favorite time of year so I don't worry about calories on that party day. Though this year I have decide to make desserts I don't care for and we are having meat and mostly veggies for our meal so I think I will be okay. We only do holidays with my Husbands family and they know I am trying to be healthier…
  • This saddens me. My husband and I don't look like we go together. But his is super supportive even giving up his down time to watch shows so I can do just dance because I don't feel like running. The only problem is our meals because we don't eat the same thing most days. Really no problem on his end. I eat my main dish…
  • Last week on our 4 year anniversary. He was sick and I was getting over being sick. We had soup and sandwiches from Panera because the deliver.
  • I have a fitbit. My active on MFP is set to sedentary due to a desk job. Usually it takes about 3,500 steps to get any calories added to my MFP. The only time I eat any exercise calories back is if I am hungry otherwise I leave them there. I found that I need those calorie for 2 days after weight lifting. I am starving. I…
  • If you have sugar problems stay way from that much banana at one time.
  • When my sil move to the US she gain about 15 pounds. Even though she wasn't eating more food it was high calories. She was use to a mostly fish, rice, and veggie diet. They lived with us for awhile and she has much more higher calorie food than before. That and she no longer walked every where. Relook at your calories.
  • I easily drink a gallon of water/tea a day. The days I don't I feel sluggish and then have bathroom problems the next few days. My skin is not as dry since I started drinking more.
  • SW: 231 GW:175 LW: 214 TW: 219 OL: 13 I gain 5 pounds this week. Not to worried. My sodium and carb intake has been higher due to traveling and a new water softer (I might as well live on the beach with how salty the water is). I know I have not eaten enough to gain. Plus I started l lifting this week. Hoping to see a 5+…
