Poor Robin.

I don’t agree. I bet most of those people you don’t actually see everything they eat. I have coworkers that think the same things about me and honestly it’s infuriating how much they insist that I eat. I can’t eat cake at work without someone commenting about how unfair it is that I can do that and still be skinny. One…

You said you feel like an outcast - to this I strongly recommend some counselling or therapy. If your family are deliberately ostracising you then that’s one thing, but consider that your feelings of being inferior may actually cause a strain on those relationships itself - for all parties involved, not just you. If you’ve…

Pretty much what others have said above. I’m not saying it to be rude to you, or do devalue your experiences, but the fact is that weightloss is pretty simple and if you’re not losing weight there really aren’t many other options beyond ‘it’s because you’re eating too much’. So if you’re telling me you’re only eating 1,500…

Whilst I sympathise with your situation, you’re saying a lot of things that are irrelevant to weight loss. If you are gaining weight at then you are eating more than you think. Use a scale to measure everything, maybe you’ll be surprised.

It’s nice to hear someone say this.

Yard work is hard work, definitely log and eat that back.

I just wanna say that whilst I don’t in any way endorse super low calorie diets, it’s not a definite that everyone who does them will ALWAYS binge. I was stupid before, I ate very low calorie for a period of approximately 6 weeks and never followed that with a binge (it’s been 4 months). Statistically I’m sure you’re far…

Is this for real though
-
I’ll bear that in mind, thanks!

The one I made for myself, with input from an experienced family member. What’s your problem with it?
-
Yeah I think I’ll do that, but I’m happy with my lifting program at the moment :)
-
Yeah that’s a good idea, I think I’ll log them separately on a sedentary level. Thanks! You maintain on as high as 2000? Well.. that’s exciting for when I reach goal weight :D
-
How much do the people who say that weigh though?
-
I have an under active thyroid and haven’t had any issues regarding my weightloss since I started tracking my intake. I certainly can’t speak for you or anyone else, but I definitely used my condition as an excuse as to why I wasn’t losing before, when in reality I just overeating.

There are some things you just have to make exceptions for: peanut butter cups are one of these.
-
Oh I have this too. It happens usually when I eat out, if I have to guess at calories I’m thinking that this one meal could have easily 1,000 calories.. so with that and my breakfast.. no more food today! Heh.

My biggest error is overestimating or rounding up because of ‘just in case’. It leaves me eating too little and getting super cranky, so I really have to watch my brain when it starts telling me to add an extra 100 bonus calories to a meal. :/ Also drinking calories away. There’s about 100 calories (probably 80 actually…

You’ll probably fall off again. It’s not worth worrying about that time whilst you’re actually doing well. Just be kind to yourself now and accept that it could happen again, but that’s fine, you’ll just pick yourself up and carry on. Realistically one or two moments/days of weakness aren’t gonna mean much when the rest of…

I’m 125 and have the same size waist, it happens ^^’

Wake up Lay in bed for 30 minutes contemplating moving, life, capitalism, anything but actually moving Get out of bed Wander around like a zombie for an hour Stumble into work ^^

You won’t be able to accurately predict your loss unless you’re also tracking your calorie intake unfortunately.
-
You don’t need a healthy diet to lose weight either. You need it if you want to be healthy, obviously, but as far as simple weight loss goes it doesn’t matter what you’re eating as long as it’s less calories than you’re burning.

Your enthusiasm for oatmeal scares me

I also wanna say to the OP: maybe reconsider if your problems are actually to do with your weight or if that’s just a manifestation of a deeper issue. I don’t know you at all so my assumptions are just that, purely assumptions. But anyone who feels the need to fill every waking second of their life with activity says to me…
-
This thread is super weird. The fact that the OP is very specific about what they respond to despite having great advice across the board just makes me uncomfortable. OP, if you can find a place for it in your busy schedule, consider taking some time to talk to a therapist. I don’t think forcing yourself to exercise for so…

In the long run it shouldn’t really matter because your weight trend over time should still decrease at the same rate. I’d just suggest following the trend instead of getting caught up on the actual number.
-
I’m the same height and weight as you and I’m also looking to lose about 10lb or so more, but I’ve started weight training now anyway. I’m obviously not gonna build much muscle during this time but I’m still getting stronger and that feels good. So uh, I guess it wouldn’t hurt stop eating at a deficit right now, but I’ve…

I dunno about maintaining motivation, because motivation in itself isn’t something I really believe it, but what keeps me turning back is knowing how tragic it would be if I undo all the hard work I’ve put in so far. I can’t deal with the idea of making all that work worth nothing.

I save calories to eat cake at work, it makes me happier when I’m doing boring tasks. :(
