  • I smelled them from here... I'll take two please.^^
  • Keep up the good work and don't fret. Jobs come and go. Doors open and close, but sticking together and persevering is what makes a family strong. It's the real glue...
  • Hahaha!! I can totally relate. Low-carb is the key to unlocking my inner-beast!!
  • He-ya Lindsey from London! Welcome to the group!! 3.5 stone is substantial at 5'0".... Like Brenda said if you start a thread we can help track your progress and support you. I hear you on the sweet tooth kick. I have a carb-tooth myself. My wife made the most delicious bread this weekend... She is my Kryptonite, I swear...
  • Thought I'd throw up (bad choice of words there, eh?) last night's meal as well: Tuna medallions (taco style,) homemade salsa, and a nice salad with my favorite dressing from Bolthouse Farms. (There was a whole avacado in the fish tacos as devoured as well...)
  • Bob I know I am preaching to the choir, but I am truly excited! I have maintained this way of eating for almost twice as long as the next closest "diet" competitor. (I know after only four months that is a sad state of affairs.) I also realize this is only the beginning of a journey that will encompass the rest of my life.…
  • I am back in town as of yesterday, and weighed in this morning to see what the damage was from my week off the beaten OMAD path. I was (pleasantly) surprised to see I was exactly the same weight as before I left. There was quite a bit more planning than when I was out of town the last time, but I was not logging…
  • I had a really hard time doing 4:3 even eating 3 meals on my eating days. I did some calculations and found I had more overall fast time per month just doing OMAD. (Understandably, you are mixing fast days with OMAD, so you will be getting the best of both...) Good luck this month!!
  • Hey Robert! Seems we have a bit in common. I am 42 from the Southeastern US. I started at 303 lbs. in January and am down 47 lbs. through a combo of IF and and OMAD. My current goal is to enjoy my meal tonight, and that's enough for me these days. This way of eating is revolutionary (at least from my vantage point.)…
  • Can I get an Amen? I feel like I am in control of my life for the first time in recollection. I know it sounds corny when I say it out loud, but it rings true for me personally. Keep up the great work and gratz on a great start!!
  • Hiya Jac & Rochelle!! Welcome to OMAD and the group. Viva la revolution!
  • Welcome to Fastcar012 and Tyranade! This group is great and incredibly helpful. Please don't be shy in asking any questions, and post lots of food pics, please!! (That one was a bit selfish, but I get the best ideas for meals from these folks, really.) Good luck!
  • I may be in the minority here, as I started OMAD but microscopically tracking every calorie from go. 3 months into my journey, I am still pretty rigorous about weighing (not just measuring) most everything. I do agree it is hard to overeat using the one plate method, and I track mostly because it's interesting to me to see…
  • So I weighed in this morning a day early. I am down to 256. Another 3 lbs. bites the dust. 47 lbs. so far and I am so psyched!! I will be travelling for work through the weekend, so I will be left to piece together a decent meal where/when I can. I am better prepared that last go round, for sure.
  • I miss New Orleans sooo much. Oh, the smells... And the tastes. I am such a sucker for beignets and etoufee. I am going to bed hungry tonight. (Not really, but still...)
  • Heh, I feel you. It seems as though my life is one giant mess-up with tiny intermittent successes woven in (just to keep me hopeful.) You have the right attitude though, and all of the tools to turn it around. Here's to finishing strong.^^
  • I got spoiled living near the ocean. It has been a transition being landlocked, as I love fresh fish soo much. I had to find a reliable source for decent seafood. It's not as good as Seattle... Or even coastal NC for that matter... But we all must sacrifice. I used to hold the view that I wouldn't eat seafood unless I…
  • Hello Dania and welcome to OMAD and the group! Congratulations on your pregnancy and your willingness to enter into a more healthy lifestyle. Keep us posted as to how things are progressing.
  • Holy Moly Donna! I didn't realize you were in Tennessee. I am in Knoxville. We have an office in Nashville and I am there pretty frequently. (I could never OMAD in that town. Too much great food everywhere.) You are a champ! Gratz on your progress, and keep it up!!!
  • Quickie update again. I am running for work again, but not onsite for a project this time. (Which allows me all the time I need to prepare a stellar OMAD...) Tonight it was more of that Swordfish (with orange zest and dill) and a roasted red pepper & avacado salad. My favorite low-down dirty bourbon with a hint of Coke…
  • Update time.^^ I am officially in the 250's. I weighed in yesterday at 259.1 and almost screamed out loud (which would have been bad since it was around 4:30 a.m.). I have lost 44 pounds since January 1st, and I am beginning to think I may have found an actual lifestyle change instead of a "diet." You all have been…
  • STOP!!! Seriously, this WOE is almost too good to be true. Almost. Fact is, I have experienced great success this year with OMAD, and I tried to over complicate it as well. (Just my nature, I guess...) Just relax and let your body do the work. I know easier said than done sometimes, but believe me. It is this simple.
  • Hello and welcome to Fiona, Michael, Alex, and Che. Welcome to OMAD and to the group! Good luck and keep it up.
  • Welcome back to OMAD and to the group. I find inspiration (as well as great recipe ideas) here daily.^^
  • Well I was having some trouble sleeping, and so I thought I would post last night's meal. I didn't end up cooking the asparagus as there was some broccoli in the house whose time had come. I steamed it instead. Also no slaw, but the Tilapia came out really well. I did an oven bake with a spritz of olive oil and some…
  • Well I weighed yesterday, and am back down to 261. (So, a pound down from my spiral into the caloric abyss...) Good to be back on track and looking forward to this week. Got some Tilapia for tonight (looking for a decent low cal fry recipe) and some yummy asparagus. I might try to whip up some more of that slaw as well...…
  • I always looked at it from the perspective of a diabetic. If there was an insulin response from no-calorie drinks, wouldn't medical professionals dissuade diabetics from consumption? I am not a doctor, but I do have a diabetic aunt who lives off of Diet Coke. I don't drink artificially sweetened drinks as a general rule,…
  • Well, I finally got around to weighing myself and the damage was done from my journey into the sleepless abyss last week. I weighed at 266 (+3 lbs.) after two good days back on OMAD. I was a little disheartened, but my resolve is still good. I thought to myself, "How could I have done so much damage in so little time?"…
  • I totally agree Bob! I could live off of Tuna and Salmon alone, I believe. (Although, I don't know about the bottling process.?..) Grilled Salmon is one of my all time favorites, but I have recently found a pretty good source for swordfish steaks locally. The meat has a mildly sweet, buttery flavor to me, akin to lobster.…
  • Nothing really to update. I just had a couple of minutes between meetings today and thought I would post some recent meals... Seared Tuna steak with homeade yogurt slaw and lemon-pepper avacado salad Jalapeno Siracha Tuna cakes with French Bread (there was butter involved as well...)
