Keep it fun, the only way to get better is to run more and prepare. Good luck!

1. Running on the treadmill is harder on my body than my outside runs. I have no reason why. It’s also easier for me to maintain a faster pace outside. Try it out slowly. 2. I love doing runners stretch, and I too. Pigeon stretch. Anything to warm the hips and hamstrings!

4-6 days a week mixed with swimming and mountain biking. It’s been amazing for me!
-
Good work! Think of where you’ll be in 90 days

It’s not about being perfect it’s about being better. Just take it one day at a time. You can do it!!!

Invest in padded shorts. Don’t skimp because you get what you pay for!

I just tried my wetsuit on and I’m going to have to lean up
-
Great suggestions! My wet suit gets here today so I’ll be doing some open water swims soon!

Enough to eat 1/16th of a piece of cake after

Awesome, thanks for the tips. That’ll be my strategy for the swim.
-
Thank you! I think I’ll do more of those “swim rest days”

Well I’m in maintenance from my last bike race and half marathon so I’m still running 15 miles a week and swimming twice. Then the other days I do crossfit (give or take 4-6 times) I’d guess I’m around 17%body fat right now. 150 would seem like a skin and bones me haha.

Try working up to a half hour jog without stopping. Once you get there start improving speed and distance. Use run keeper or something to start tracking your runs so you can visually see the progress. Awesome goal, good luck!

It’s a sprint for the xterra in Ogden, Utah and my swimming isn’t great but it’s quickly improving. Saturdays have been my brick sessions for now. I keep meaning to take a rest day being active is mental therapy for me. If I don’t at least get a mild jog in I go crazy. Thanks for the advice!
-
Good advice, I’m glad the swim is first. I just ordered my wetsuit this week. I’m ready for it as far as endurance goes. I’m just nervous for the open water.
-
Yes, it’s the xterra so it’s mountain biking and a trail run. I’m a really solid runner and decent mountain biker so those two parts I’m prepared for. My swimming is really weak but improving.

Chantix didn’t work for me. I had to use the nicotine lozenges which worked amazing. I’m now 16 months quit. Congrats on quitting and keep up the good work!

Thinking about where I used to be wishing I was where I am now.

I committed to a race, registered for a half marathon about 4 months out and it forced me to train for it

Find others that are active or want to be active and hang with them.

Make sure you stock your desk with pleanty of healthy options. I make sure to bring nuts, cucumbers, carrots, and hard boiled eggs on Monday morning. That way I have stuff for the whole week.

Deadlifts and squats

Maybe look into crossfit. Nobody will laugh at you and you’ll have coaches and other people to help you. Most places have a week free trial.

Track it! That has helped keep me honest. Once I’ve submitted my food for the day I don’t want to go back and change it so I just go to bed
