12 years in the military before releasing to go back to school - my new career was so sedentary and the pounds packed on over the last four years. Ducimus brother

Welcome :-) similar goals here and I started 6 weeks ago. It’s entirely possible.

I had issues with that after years in the army and would get bad pains during rucksack marches. Physio has me on stretching exercises for my legs, particularly the outer quads which alleviated it over time. I’d see a doc/physio person about it. unlike if we give bad medical advice, we can’t be sued. But if a doc or physio…

The workout was elliptical trainer for 33 minutes followed by stretching. Prior to actually switching the app on, I had already done 20 minutes on stationary bike, 20 minutes walking at sp 3.4 incline lvl2 on treadmill. I currently weighed in this morning at 273lbs. Down from 296 on May 8, 2018

Does anyone know how accurate the UA heart rate band and the UA wristband are for tracking workout calories burned? I did about 33 min on the elliptical trainer at a good sweat and pace and about 20 min of various stretching exercises and it said I burnt just over 1000 calories.

Welcome back Caitie! I’m a new user of this app and site but you’re welcome to friend me. I’m sure your goal is very reasonable and encourage you to keep aim.

I got so heavy I actually thought I’d start attracting those burgers to swirl around me like little satellites or moons. I avoid all fast food places for the time being but I won’t lie - at this very moment I’m totally craving and would devour one or five of those muthafu|<ing things.

I watched one called ‘the perfect human diet’ a while back as well and it made sense and that’s been the general approach I’ve been taking. It’s kind of paleo-like in terms of food intake. I just eat as much non-processed and natural fruits and vegetables I can get, and as much non-farmed fish (pref pacific salmon and…

Yeah that seems to be the issue which is why I’ve been layering paper towel to reduce the moisture. Seems to work well enough for me to run through a container of salad within a week.

Yeah my main question was about meat I guess. I rarely consume pasta anymore at all, and have a slice or two per day of some relatively healthy bread called Dave’s killer bread 21 whole grain bread. Thanks for the replies

I haven’t looked below the neckline without clothes on in several years... I am just getting started. I vaguely remember what it was like to look at myself in the mirror and like what I saw.

I am planning on surprising friends and family with as much healthy weight loss and muscle gain as I can in 5 months. I want to document this transformation in video and pictures without them ever knowing about it. That and I want to look great, feel great, and be able to enjoy myself again. I truly despise the way I look…

Awesome you kept photos of that progress. I’ve lost 20lbs Since May 8th and have another 75 or so to drop. I cannot see the 20lbs. The sarcastic part of me is like, I’ve got to be pretty fat to lose 20lbs and not be able to see it haha.

From my understanding our general metabolism slows down as we age. If this is correct, that makes sense so if you want to boost it up, you’ll likely have to keep your resting metabolic rate higher throughout the day. Try starting your day with some cardio for about 20-30 minutes, go for a walk at lunch, and try to keep…

The mixed containers of lettuce never seem to last as long and my living situation doesn’t allow me to make the indoor salad garden I’d love to make right now - soon I hope.

Thanks hummingbird

Anyone reading this from BC Canada? The north in particular?

Has anyone tried the UA healthbox stuff? I’ve got it coming and am pretty stoked to try it out. I found a good deal on eBay so picked it up.
-
Same timeline goal and age as you! Gonna plan a vacation in the new year to Cuba or Dominican to celebrate progress.
-
Will check it out and thanks - it feels like cutting out carbs from refined flour products (white bread/pasta) is causing withdrawal symptoms
-
Well I’m sure at least one person would love to know more about your situation and about you :-)

Bon anniversaire Ali Happy birthday Ali

Does anyone have some suggestions for managing cravings? So far I basically try to just chug a good 18oz of water and munch on a head of brocoli... it doesn’t work well but I feel full till the cravings come back.

Welcome back - sounds like you’ve got a good handle on where you’re going :-)

Good luck Jacob
