  • Hi, i also have AS and was diagnosed at 23 after having my son. Symptoms were long before that but flared during pregnancy. I’m now 25. I suffered pelvis and back pain and also fatigue. I have a similar story and gained weight from nz 10-14/16 I believe from limitations with the AS. I joined mfp last year to help try…
  • I haven’t ridden in a while since I’m studying and working on a stud. Every riding style is different. I have done them all. Flatwork, jumping and cross country can be very good workouts depending on the level of horse your schooling and how much effort you have to put into them. A quiet old plod along/ do everything won’t…
  • Thanks for your help guys! I am 25, 168cm and currently 86.5kg. My bmi says I’m obese however people always say I have a nice figure and don’t need to loose weight. Some people say I just need to tone up. However I would like to loose 16.5kg, a couple kg over my pre pregnancy weight 5yrs ago. I do have a very active…
  • The lifting sacks wasn’t much work but the bucketing out the troughs is a killer, I try and do it at a fast pace and it’s the middle of summer so I pour with sweat. Takes me about 15-20mins to complete each trough.
  • I just use my phone step counter. I walk every day and it counts my steps and I go by that, never mind most of my walking is wrestling young horses, carrying numerous 25kg-30kg sacks of feed. When I hike I just count the steps, allbeit most of my hiking is when I’m hunting and while I have to go up steep terrain, I spend…
  • I am slightly taller than you by about 8cm and I am 86kg. I’m on 1200 calories a day with my goal to loose 2 pound a week. I think it’s very sustainable. I have lost 4 kg in less than 3 weeks. When I came on here last year i was always left hungry because I would waste my calories on high calorie foods that weren’t…
  • So the friends who had the bbq have come here before and bought a pre weighed meal as one of them were also on some diet. Not low calorie but the one where they drink goop. I decided to take my own, shrimp and rice salad. I also took a large salad for everyone else. They weren’t offended at all. The wife understands what…
  • The doctors spoke to me over the phone, I live very rural and couldn’t get in. I wonder if I should be physically evaluated tomorrow? The pain is causing back chest/ rib pain too. I tried to vacuume the house and it hurt really bad but once I stopped it settled down to just ache and be uncomfortable.
  • Spend more time playing with my son. Get fit and reach my goal weight. Get into AS remission. Complete my diploma. Get debt free and invest in my future.
  • 😂 yes!
  • I’m very much the same as you Danp. I would sometimes not log my food until later in the day and end up shocked and hungry because I had wasted my calories. Now I pre log and I know what I can and can’t have and if somethings too high in calories I suddenly won’t want it anymore.
  • When I first started mfp I was starving too, it was because I wasn’t careful with my calories and wasted them on high calorie foods meaning I wouldn’t eat much. I find hot drinks great fillers that are low calorie. Feel free to add me and check Out my diary, it’s open and I try and share food and adventures daily. I’m on…
  • Yum!!!!! Hot chips in buttered bread
  • Really depends on the cats so love and hate 😅, Winter
  • Sausage casserole
  • I find I will get slight cramps and automatically think I should eat something as if it was hunger pain. If Im having a awedul time of it and feel tired it makes me want to laze around and snack so I try keep busy to avoid Snacking. If I crave certain things like carbs etc then I will try and adjust my food to suit. So if…
  • Do you find relief from seeing the chiro? Maybe look into visiting a rheumatologist and they can look into it more. Anti inflammatorys are the best to take down the inflammation however too many may burn your stomach out so tread carefully or take with antacids. Haha I don’t think anyone really has a chance of staying on…
  • Our young son is 4, he’s not been the greatest sleeper and is very energetic. On top of this I have had full time study and a very demanding outdoor job with horses. I have ankylosing spondylitis and fatigue comes with it. I find a b12 vitamin is a great booster along with iron. Eating good foods and plenty of protein…
  • I don’t have a sweet tooth but I find when I’m craving junk I make myself a low calorie hot chocolate and it helps fill me up and suppress my cravings for takeout. I also try and be creative in the kitchen and replicate my fave foods in a healthy way. Every Sunday we have “hot chip day” where we bike into town. I plan my…
  • Do you regularly get this pain? Is there a medical reason for it? I have ankylosing spondylitis and I get sciatic pain along with 100 other pains. It almost ruined my horse riding career. Physio was useless, I just focused on strengthening my body as a whole and done a lot of swimming and hot and cold therapy. Even just a…
  • Outdoors, I don’t workout as such but have a very active lifestyle and I have a very physical outdoor job with horses. I try and go hunting or hiking or run along side my son as he bikes down the farm. I would never join a gym unless absolutely necessary for physio or if I really needed hands on help, just my preference. I…
  • We live and work on farm and have a young son that keeps us on our toes. During the busier seasons we do a lot of slow cooker meals, you can do a whole roast with sides, pulled pork or chicken to have in wraps or buns with salad, create all in one pasta dishes and heaps more. There’s a great slow cooker group on fb. Some…
  • I like light cream cheese on toast with a coffee, I sometimes add tomato salt and pepper. Tomorrow I’ll be having it on a English muffin because they are lower calories than the bread. Other days I’ll just have a double sized coffee and that will satisfy me until after lunch. If I have a big day planned I’ll make a huge…
  • My calorie intake is 1200. I had spoken to my doctor who told me to take the medication for reflux and that it’s probably hunger pain. She thinks low calorie is the way to go for weight loss so has no issues with it.
  • Thanks everyone. Obviously I know food will put on weight but a 1kg increase after consuming much less than a kg of liquid didn’t really add up for me. I jumped on again first thing this morning and I’m down even more so I’m pretty happy. I’ll just stick to morning weigh ins.
  • Thanks for all of the advice! I spent some time researching last night and looking over the sources that gave the advice too. I’m pretty happy with eating less carbs and higher fat as long as it’s healthy fats obviously. My sugar is low (except for yesterday) and my protein intake is good. Iv lost 2.5kg in 5 days though…
  • It was my first time having one, it was amazing as a wrap! And I didn’t feel gross afterwards. It’s kept me really full all day and we have been marching around the fair, went to the beach for a swim and a play and I’m still nice and full
  • So I should change my activity to active or lightly active? Sedentary has given me a 10k step goal and i barely meet it however I do have a very active job, lots of heavy lifting, wrangling stock and carrying stock, heavy buckets and all that kind of stuff.
  • Should probably add I’m still studying on top of this so have a lot of sit down time.
