What to do When you are just unsatisfied....
I’m on 1200, I go up to 1600-1800 on a Sunday and that keeps me on track. I have been doing really well but today I was starving and went 400 calories over. I ate normal and was on track with my calories but 4pm came and I just had to smash back a loaded sandwich. To be honest I have no regrets but I want to avoid this…

Opinions please on loss/ calories
After an awful year at work doing ridiculous days and hours and 2 serious injuries I am back in the CC game. I have always had good losses doing 1200cals (mfp recommend) and resumed back to this despite other TDEE calculators giving me 1700+ cals. I have been having good losses over the last month but I worried I was under…

Iv spent the past 10 years as a doormat
Hi all, I’d love some kind and supportive friends on here. Iv been in a relo for a good 10 years. It’s been ok but iv gone from independent to a complete doormat. What started out as me being a supportive partner I think has turned into me being expected to drop everything and run around after him. My kind nature and…

Carrying calories over
Are we able to carry calories over to the following day if we don’t use them all? I know some people save X amount of calories a day to treat themselves at the end of the week but does this slow down weight loss? And does it work the same for example if you eat over your calories by 200 on day 5 so you eat under your…

Forgot to weigh end product
I made pulled pork lastnight, I have all the precooked weights for all ingredients but because it was a cheat day I didn’t bother to weigh the end product lastnight. It was slow cooked with a lid so I would presume it wouldn’t have lost bugger all weight like most cooked foods do. I want to have some for lunch, should I…

Has anyone had success with using shakes
I’m looking into using meal replacement shakes to replace breakfast and possibly lunch if they are filling enough. Iv found some low calorie protein shakes 150cal max each. Has anyone else had success using shakes? I only have coffee in the AM so I’m use to skipping breakfast anyway.

Do you avoid weighing?
Iv been back on the calorie counting wagon for a few weeks. I dropped off for a few months while I was doing 18 hour shifts. I’m avoiding checking my weight, I know my starting weight and I won’t be weighing myself for about 5 weeks, I find I either get unmotivated if I haven’t lost much or if I loose I decide to treat…

What helps you stay on track
Aside from the obvious goals, what helps you stay on track? Some days I get so annoyed that I’m struggling with my weight ( because I use to be fit as f***) so I just think f*** it and cave in to everything. I find music helps me get motivated, especially when I see something like Jlo and Shakiras Super Bowl performance…

NZ members, help me with my shopping list
I have to go and do the grocery shopping tomorrow, I generally buy the same stuff every fortnight to feed the family and I just alter my food to make it low calorie. I plan ahead so I don’t get caught out but some foods I have to avoid or I’ll go over on my calories which sucks. Anyhow what sneaky low calorie snacks/…

MFP causing iPhone issues? Anyone else
I had an iPhone 6 with no issues, started using MFP and it started tripping out and the screen would go out of control. Insurance replaced it with a iPhone 6s and it’s been fine until I finally downloaded MFP again and this morning my phone spazzed out with the last phone I thought it was a coincidence but now who knows. I…

Cauliflower rice and quick easy low cal breakfasts
How do I make basic cauliflower rice to substitute steamed/boiled rice? Everywhere I look it ends up fried or being bulked out with other Veges. I just need a plain substitute to go with my saucy chicken. Also any super low calorie breakfast ideas? I had half a sirloin steak this morning and it was so good with low…

Struggling with my insecurities
Last night we went to the local pools. I was very keen to jump in with the husband and my son when I suddenly froze up and refused to. I have VERY pasty legs. Everyone at the pools had nice tans or were no where near as pale as me. I have a wicked bikini top that looks great but I retain most of my weight in my hips and…

I just realised I’m an emotional eater
I always thought I was the type to eat out of boredom but lately iv had some stresses at work and with the husband and find myself getting mad or upset and wanting to stuff my face. I have it under control for the most part and am not going full hog but I’ll still slip up as go just over my calories by say 100-300. Then I…

Log it or is it just a bonus?
I just finished work and I’m buggered. I didn’t clock up too many steps, about 6000 in 4 hours. However I spent an hour bucketing water out of 2 very large stock troughs in the sun, I do this about 3-4 days a week. It was a killer workout. I was also assigned to the feed room, where I lifted about 20 25kg sacks of feed. Do…

Side effects of my low calorie diet
Last year while on mfp I got a few stomach bugs. Just thought it was a bad season. I’m generally healthy. I took 2 months off and started again this year. I’m a volume eater and so I have been skipping lunch to have a good sized dinner. I also work through lunch which helps. Yesterday I had a terribly sore stomach, I put…

Sugar vs fat
I just wanted to share something I found interesting. I watched an interesting show lastnight where two genetic twins went a month one on High sugar and one high fat diet. They both had pre and post tests done to see the effects. The one on a high fat diet lost 3.5kg, but 2kg of that was muscle. He also was only .1 away…

Best time for an accurate weigh?
When do you weigh yourself? I weighed myself in the morning yesterday and was 2kg down. Weighed myself again today at lunch and was 1kg up. I’m eating a lot less and doing well or so I thought. When’s the best time to weigh in? And will different times of the day affect the reading? Scales are accurate. I don’t weigh…

Carbs vs fat
Lately I have been going slightly over my fat % but well under my carb % pretty much what I go over in fat is almost as much as I’m under in my carbs. How will this affect my weight loss? I assume it’s better to be consuming good fats than carbs for weight loss? Most of the days I’m eating are good. We are dairy farming so…
