  • Back in again. Last few kilos to go, which always prove the hardest for me. Target weight: 62kg Target loss this round: -1kg Day/Weight/Comment 9/05 - 65.9kg - good day yesterday. Fancy work dinner tonight so will go over but rest of this round should be normal routine 9/06 - 66.4kg - that dinner was worth this temporary…

  • (edited my entry from this morning as I completely mis-typed my weight earlier) This round will be tricky for me, as for the first half I will be abroad on a family visit, a trip which will be full of temptations in the shape of wine, cake, snacks and restaurant dinners (basically everything that I've so successfully been…

  • I'm trying to shift the holiday kilos and then some, to get back to my usual maintenance weight. This round I'll be focusing on:* getting my head around restricting calories again * no snacking except the pre-logged snacks * no alcohol Target weight: 62kg Target loss this round: -1kg Day/Weight/Comment 8/16 - 66.6kg - good…

  • I don't really understand that, unless you only eat ready meals, how could you just work off a packet? For example cereal if you portion that, how do you portion that? Or a bag of potatoes, how do you portion that, sure you don't eat the full bag in one go. I would highly recommend the foodscale. Also wouldn't rely on apps…

  • Absolutely it works. It's fool proof. You must be accurate though, so actually weigh your food, sounds like a hassle, but it'll become second nature very soon. It'll also soon help you realise what is actually a normal portion size and it might help you make wiser choices.
  • Absolutely love this post. When I opened the thread I was half-hoping for a miracle cure LOL. But it really is that simple, accurate logging and sticking to the plan is the key to success. I'm back on MFP for the third time, as, due to sloppy/no logging, I went over my maintenance weight - and then some. So back to the…
  • I'm just doing CICO which works for me. Granola for brekkie, sambo for lunch later and potatoes at dinnertime, yum!
  • One of my biggest struggles, the sweet tooth. The most effective for me is to cut out all sweets/cakes/cookies this will make the cravings go away eventually. It's not a long-term solution, but moderation in sweets is something I find extremely difficult and is pretty much the only reason I keep coming back to MFP. I'm a…

  • Just finished Schitt's Creek (Netflix), absolutely loved the characters in that series!

  • Because I'm bursting our of my clothes and my bloaty tummy is uncomfortable. Because if I don't take action now to get back to my maintenance weight, I'll be fat again like ten years ago.

  • I would probably grab ie one bag of popcorn and one cereal bar in the morning and log it on MFP before I even eat it. I would also have the breakfast, lunch and dinner (pre)logged. And then simply stick to that, only eat what logged. This way you can stay within your calories, but can still have some of the goodies.
  • I have the Fitbit Charge and love it. Battery lasts ages and it can track a variety of workouts and it does auto-track. However you cannot swim with it, so I would log that separately then.
