Day/Weight/Comment
8/26, 230, Under calorie goal.
8/27, 231, Constipated at weigh in. Hopefully lighter tomorrow.
8/28, 231, Just fat I guess. Pretty sure my garmin is inflating my calories burned each day. Gonna stay much farther under my calorie goal from now on.
8/29 Forgot to weigh in, adjusted calorie goal to lose 2 pounds per week, mostly ignoring calories burned as per my garmin.
8/30, 230, So glad it wasn't stuck at 231 again.
8/31, 229, Finally dipped below my starting weight!! Sticking to about 1300 calories a day is working.
9/01, Forgot to weigh
9/02, 230, ate two dinners on 9/1, surprised that I'm not heavier.
9/03, 229, rallied yesterday and came back down.

Want to weight 125. I had originally set this at 145 but y'know, I have some jeans from 1993(before my pregnancy, when I was still in the Air Force) and they are still in fine condition, and hey. Goal jeans.

Bleah. I imagine it will go up tomorrow since i totally snacked today. not even dinner and I'm almost at my calorie limit even though I ate less than what I WANTED to eat. If that makes sense. People here with hot dogs and chips and bbq chicken and corn on the cob sitting in butter and all these desserts and creamy potato salad and and and...yep. My lifestyle has NOT changed yet, I can see.13 -
Round 5 for me
SW:215lbs
UGW: 140lbs
Aims for this round - to exercise at least 5 out of the 10 days and to lose at least another 2lbs. My new mini goal is190lbs but I don't intend to lose it quickly as I'd rather lose it slowly so it stays off. So I'll aim for 195-194 for this round.
Good luck everyone
8/26 197.7- 1lb up from yesterday - not making the right choices with food. I used to keep a food diary and think I need to go back to this to see where I'm going wrong. No workout / lazy day.
8/27 198- 0.3 up on yesterday's weight... hopefully I'll start to go down now, as this usually the pattern ( I hope)
8/28 198- no change - better than going up!! Planning to go swimming tomorrow, as I say need to start moving and by telling my daughter she will nag me until we go.
8/29 198- again no change- went swimming, which was great..planning to do a dancing routine ( not sure which one yet).. trying to find an exercise that I enjoy and will fit in with work when I start back next week, so I can kick this number out the window. Used the MFP diary today.
8/30 196lbs - down 2lbs - I think that I wasn't eating enough and my body was holding onto fat as it thought it was staving ( I wasn't hungry). I've come to this conclusion because I ate more yesterday and the weight has started to drop again. I also upped my level of water to 3.5 litres and exercised. I will continue to track my meals and see what happens today. I'm not expecting another drop tomorrow, but I'm hoping to maintain this weight (that would be good).
8/31 195.2 lbs - so pleased to see my target weight for this round. It's my son's 17th birthday today, so we're going out to one of our favourite restaurants. It is a buffet style, so I'm sure that will trial to eat well. I do intend to enjoy the evening as my son is going away next year and I won't be with him for his 18th. I'll have to work off the extra pounds that I gain over the next few days... just hope that is not too many.
9/01 197lbs - I knew it was going to happen- I didn't eat as much as I would usually eat at the buffet, but I know that when other people make the food they would add more salt than I would usually have (I don't add salt in my cooking, due to a high blood pressure)- did drink loads of water yesterday ... but didn't drink enough today. Hoping the pounds will start to shift in the next few days.
9/02 197lbs - better than going up - still not enough water today, but more than yesterday
9/03 197.5lbs - spoke too soon - back to work today, so weighed in much earlier than I have been doing during the holidays ... finally started a dance routine, now to stick to it .. water levels back up

Round 1
MFP Starting weight Jan 2014: 225 lb
8/26
8/27: 204.6. My start date. Off to a good start. 1 hour of exercise, 5 servings of fruits/veggies, 60 oz of water, and under my calorie goal.
8/28: 203.8. I got lots of walking in today and my legs are still sore from yesterday. I didn't drink as much water today and had popcorn and chicken fried steak so I'll probably see an increase in weight when I weigh again tomorrow morning. I was under my calories for today though. I completed my food log at the beginning of the day and substituted foods if I was craving something else.
8/29: 202.2. Another pleasant surprise this morning. My legs are still sore so today I used the stationary bike and did upper body strength training. Under calorie goal again. Tomorrow I probably won't have time to exercise so I really need to watch my calorie intake.
8/30: 202.2. No change. Goal for the day is drink water, stay under calorie goal, and try to exercise a little while even though it's a busy day.
8/31: 204.0. I felt stressed most of the day yesterday. I probably ate more calories than I thought I did. Didn't drink as much water. I didn't exercise. Had 1 beer. Time to get back on track today.
9/01: 202.0. Stay strong this weekend. Don't over do it.
9/02: 202.8. Too many sweets yesterday. Went grocery shopping yesterday and am able to plan meals and snacks to stay with calorie goal.
9/03: 203.8. Went and exercised first thing this morning to make sure it got done.

8/28 Tuesday-196 😱 I feel gross and need to really do something about it. We are taking the kids to Hawaii in less than 6 weeks and I want to feel better. I have been reading about IF and I’m going to give it a shot.
8/29 Wednesday-194.3 Fasted 16 hours after only 8 hrs of eating. Felt hungry by breakfast but I can do this. Decided to sign up for the gym that is 100 yards from my daughters dance studio. If I need to be there for an hour twice a week, I have no excuse not to get some cardio in. The gym was crowded and there are lots of big guys at the weights. I think I stick to cardio and look into the classes.
8/30 Thursday-193.6, IF=16:9. Already hit goal this week! Went to the gym while my daughter was in ballet and got in 30 minutes of cardio. Plus, I hit my 10K steps for the first time in forever!!!! It was a good day 😊
8/31 Friday- 193.4 IF=18:? Off for the long holiday weekend for a road trip to San Diego. I will not have a scale but the goal is to stay within calorie limit ... it’s going to be tough.
9/1 No scale.
9/2 No scale.
9/3 Well, I blew it this weekend. I made poor choices and will have to face the music in the morning. I enjoyed the weekend and will work hard this week to make up for my poor choices.

In for my 8th Round!
Round 44 End Weight = 165.8 (5.2 lbs lost)
Round 45 End Weight = 164.9 (0.9 lbs lost)
Round 46 End Weight = 159.6 (5.2 lbs lost)
Round 47 End Weight = 157.2 (2.4 lbs lost)
Round 48 End Weight = 155.2 (2.0 lbs lost)
Round 49 End Weight = 151.2 (4.0 lbs lost)
Round 50 End Weight = 149.9 (1.3 lbs lost)
Stats = 5'4 female, age 48
Highest Weight = 172 lbs
Initial Goal Weight = 139 lbs (last weighed this is 2013)
Ultimate Goal Weight = 129 lbs (last weighed this in 2011)
Round 50 Goal: Anything under 149.0
Exercise Plan = The Betty Rocker 90 Day Challenge (in weeks 6-7 of 12), run outside 3-4 times a week, get 8,000-10,000 steps/day
Nutrition Plan = Continue to limit gluten, dairy, sugar, diet soda, alcohol & eat non-processed foods, protein/fruit/veg at every meal, complex carbs at breakfast and post workout meal, drink plenty of water.
8/26 = 149.9 (no change from yesterday) My sleep and nutrition are struggling, those go hand in hand. I've not going enough sleep since Wednesday of last week and my nutrition choices are suffering for it. I haven't been going over calories, just not make the best choices. I plan to grocery shop and do some meal prep today and get this under control. I completed day 35 of my 90 day challenge exercises yesterday, so it is the start of week 6 exercises on the plan today. School starts back here this Thursday and I'm really looking forward to it for selfish reasons. As soon as my daughter gets on the bus, I have time in the mornings before work to be able to get a quick run in or go for a walk. Summers are hard for me getting my runs in because even though she is 12, I can't leave her home alone even for a quick run and my husband is rarely home due to work. Wishing everyone a great start to Round 51!
8/27 = 149.9 (no change from yesterday) This seems to be a pattern the last couple of rounds, sticking at a certain weight for a couple of days at the beginning. No worries here Yesterday was a great exercise day, went for a 2 mile run, a 2 mile walk and did day 36 of 90: Body Squat to Knee Lift Crunch, Inchworms, Side Lunge to Front Lunge, Supermans with Alternating Extensions, Wall Hold Ups, Ninja Side Kicks, & Get Ups. My run felt really strong yesterday, I could feel new strength in my quads when I hit some hills. As a "recovering" distance runner, it has taken a while to settle in to doing these short runs instead but I am re-discovering my love of running in the process. It is much easier to love something that is making your body feel stronger compared to distance running which had evolved into something that was just taking a toll on my body with injuries. "Run often, run long, but never outrun your joy of running."
8/28 = 149.9 (no change from yesterday) So still holding at this number...Yesterday was a rest day in my exercise challenge and I ate closer to maintenance for calories. I am predicting the scale will drop tomorrow Today, I have day 38 of 90 exercises and I plan to get a walk in as well. I also took my measurements this morning. When I 1st started, I was taking these every 5 days, but have dropped to taking every week/week & half. I looked back to my start measurements on 6/14 and WOW! I have lost 5.5 inches on my waist & 6.5 inches on my bust. My measurements have decreased all over but those are the 2 biggest changes. Feeling very inspired now, if you haven't already done this, start now, take your measurements!
8/29 = 149.9 (6th day at this weight) Well, let's officially call it, I'm at a plateau. I feel like there is nothing left to do but ride this out, I'm doing everything I need to do to lose weight, so just going to let nature take it's course. The scale will drop eventually, I have plenty of weight left to lose. I'm in a okay mindset about this, so all is good here. The awful heat and humidity returned here this week, they are even delaying school openings today in some nearby cities but thankfully today should be the last day of it. My daughter starts school tomorrow, 7th grade! I can't believe it, really hoping for a great year for her. Last year was very difficult for her academically, socially, & emotionally. But she seems to be excited for school to start, has a small group of good friends now, and she got a advisor that she really likes, so all signs point to a good start. And with the start of school tomorrow, so ends my summer sleep-ins. We'll be up 1 &1/2 hours earlier, ACK! So that means an earlier weigh-in time too, interested to see what happens on the scale tomorrow. Stay strong everyone! "Strength doesn't come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't do."
8/30 = 150.4 (up .5 from yesterday) Earlier weigh-in time, I thought the scale would be a little higher and it was. But here's the thing, our weight fluctuates all day long, the number we see and choose to accept for that day is just a glimpse of where we are in our daily weight range. I track my weight with a trending report and today's trending average is 151.18, if I'm under that then I'm technically in a downward trend (i.e. losing weight). And I'm under that, so calling it a success. Sometimes, I see people post that they couldn't weigh-in everyday because they "couldn't face the scale" that often or it would make them too obsessed with the numbers but I think in actuality what weighing-in everyday does is make you understand that fluctuations happen and that a number is a number, it does not define your progress or your efforts. This week I decided to try on clothes that I have not worn since I was about 144 pounds, even though I weigh about 5 pounds more that that currently. They all fit. So I decided to try on clothes that I have not worn since I was in the 130's and guess what, they fit too! Bodies change and hold weight differently, especially as we age but also as our diets and exercise habits change. I'm as slim now at this weight as I was when I was 15 pounds "thinner". Anyway, those are my thoughts for the day, but don't get me wrong...I would still really like the scale to show a loss soon And I know that it will.
8/31 = 149.0 (down 1.4 from yesterday) Whoosh, that's more like it! Yesterday was a great exercise day, got in a short run and completed day 40 of 90 exercises: Down Dog Flow with Alternating Legs, Alternating Squat Lunges with High Knee, Fighter Combo: Jab, Cross, Jab, Knee, Sumo to Switch, Tricep Dips with Alternating Leg Raises, Prisoner Squats with Side Knee Drive, Total Core Domination II, & Surfer Pop Ups with Push Ups. However it was such a junk food day...I was STARVING all day after breakfast, I blame being up earlier than I am used to. On a typical day, I eat very healthy foods, & if I want to be more indulgent it is usually with something deliciously homemade not processed. But not yesterday, my body was craving junk food, so that's what I ate. I raided my daughter's school lunch food...mac & cheese (lunch), a burrito (snack), and then barbecue potato chips (dinner), GROSS! But happy to report, no binging occurred and I stayed within (slightly under) my calories for the day. And I have no interest in eating like that today, back to my body craving a green smoothie which is more my norm. "It's about creating healthy eating habits, rather than restrictions."
9/01 = 148.6 (down .4 from yesterday) Hello September, I've got big plans for you! This is the month that I will reach a healthy BMI range. I'm just a few pounds away from this, technically still in the overweight range which my mind has always processed in the past as you are a fat person, which is not helpful. Although now, while I know that I am still overweight, I no longer feel like a "fat person" and whatever the negative connotation this had for me is gone. (The negative feeling is an internal one only, I'm not judging anyone else). Just feel now I am a work in progress, being kinder to myself is something I have to work at doing, but it really has been such an enormous part of my weight loss success so far. I read a quote earlier this morning that talked about instead of thinking about what "you have to do" think instead of it as what "you get to do". Thinking in more positive terms can bring about all sorts of amazing changes. I "get to do" a hard workout today, because I have spent the last couple of months making good choices that have strengthened my body and this is now what it is capable of. Have a great weekend everyone, looks for ways to be kind to yourself and grateful for this journey!
9/02 = 148.4 (down .2 from yesterday) Yesterday was an all around good day, lots of good exercise and ate really well. I usually will have a glass or two of wine 1-2 times a week and one of those days is usually on Saturdays but didn't even feel like it yesterday. I haven't had any alcoholic drinks since last Monday, which I think is always so helpful in weight loss, not to be drinking your calories. Today, I have day 42 of 90 workout then tomorrow moves on to week 7 of 12. I'm about halfway done with the 90 day challenge and I have to say it's hard mentally. I much prefer a 30 day challenge, seems so much less daunting. But I will persist and get this done and then have this to look back on as a sign of strength when future 30 day challenges seem hard. "Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength."
9/03 = 147.0 (down 1.4 from yesterday) Not sure this is a real number. The past 3 days have been late weigh-ins due to the long weekend and tomorrow will be an early weigh-in. So there may be a small bounce up, but it will be what it will be. It was super hot here over the weekend but I got my works in, did day 42 of 90 yesterday, a 2 mile run and a 2 mile walk and today knocked out day 43 and a quick 1 mile run. My husband took the day off from work and we were able to have some nice family time and enjoy a relaxing Labor Day. I fasted most of the day (planned OMAD) and then was able to enjoy a really nice dinner, including a slice of homemade pie, without any guilt attached which makes it all the better. Only 1 more day left to this challenge, this one seems to have been the fastest one so far, it flew by I hope everyone had a great weekend, and if you overindulged know that it is just a small blip on the journey you are on, tomorrow is a new day and is yours for what you want to make it.

9/02 75.6 kg Again, super surprised. Super happy. Had no time to log what I eat, and did not choose best foods, either. Had guests over today....lots of food. :S
9/03 77.6 kg Not good... Had no time to log food, but at least made good food choices.
9/04 77.2 kg Not happy. But will keep trying.10 -
This round will be tricky for me, as for the first half I will be abroad on a family visit, a trip which will be full of temptations in the shape of wine, cake, snacks and restaurant dinners (basically everything that I've so successfully been avoiding in the previous round...).
Therefore for this round I will mostly focus on maintaining and to stay below 65.5kg (144lbs).

9/04 71.8 the needle is jst below 72 can't believe it is the end of the round again... I didn't quite meet my goal, but it was an emotionally tough round. And I had a couple of NSVs, including not indulging in emotional eating when I was feeling down. On the other hand, I have been around this weight for several rounds now, but looking back at my diary it's no surprise as I had too many off days. September will be a calmer month and I will up my exercise with boxing, even if it sometimes means I can't run the day (or 2) after.
I love seeing everyone's progress, successes and challenges on here. But I'm ready to be part of the success group and tackle the challenges with more determination.
See you next round!10 -

Day/Weight/Comment
8/26 - 257.2...forgot to weigh this morning when I first got up.
8/27 - 257.2...bad food choices, no exercise and another late weigh in.
8/28 - 257.2...I really need to get my head back into this and re-find my motivation. Went for a walk yesterday but had take out for lunch and supper so I was still way over on calories. And I haven't been drinking nearly enough water..I keep choosing diet pop instead
8/29 - 257.2...did a little better yesterday. Still went over calories but not by nearly as much..stayed well under maintenance. No water yesterday at all, so I'm starting today with a huge glass, staying away from the diet soda and hoping I can finally get back on track and stay there.
8/30 - 256.2...100 oz of water and 3 walks yesterday. Went over calories but was still under maintenance.
8/31 - 255.4...100 oz of water and 2 walks. Ate within calories, well the exercise ones too. I haven't been to the gym in 2 weeks but plan to start back tonight.
9/01...forgot to weigh this morning. My son decided 3:30 was a good time to get up for the day and now my whole day is off.
9/02 - 255.4...had some high sodium food yesterday and only 75 oz of water. Would have stayed under calories but a friend asked me to go for ice cream last night..it was yummy though!
9/03 - 253.4...100 oz of water, stayed under calories and did a 30min walk.
9/04 - 252.4...120 oz of water, stayed under calories and a 29min walk. Its amazing what can happen when I actually stick to my plan lol I already knew this of course but I seem to forget it.
See everyone in the next round!!!

I'm definitely in! This will be my 7th round Expecting a small bump up in weight this round or that it will move slowly, since I lost so much last round.USW 6th of May: 210 lbs

8/26 – 175.3 lbs Today I am wearing a tank top in my own house for the first time in many years. I wasn’t even comfortable with wearing a tank top when I was home alone! I’m so motivated again after the huge loss last round.
8/27 - 174.8 (-0.5) I am just feeling so motivated right now. Went out and bought new a new exercise outfit today (as my old ones were sizes XL-XXL and now I’m a M-L). Was so happy trying on clothes, that I could have bought everything they had if my economy wasn’t crying for help hahah. It’s an indescribable feeling to actually feel good when trying on clothes. Finally starting physical therapy tomorrow and I’m so excited I’m not sure I’ll be able to sleep tonight. Really hope it can help with my super low blood pressure and my fainting. (I have Addison’s disease! )
8/28 - 173.9 (-0.9) I have no idea what’s going on here, but I’ll take it! I was stuck on 180+- for 2 months and now I’m just flying through 170? That’s fine by me! 😅 Did nothing else than reduce my carb intake and eat more fat/protein. Exact same calorie intake. Going to the gym to meet my physical therapist in an hour. Update on how it went tomorrow 😄 Super excited! Hope everyone has a nice day.
8/29 – 173.2 (-0.7) Physical therapy yesterday was awesome. Focused on balance and core. We decided that it’s smart to focus most on butt, hips and legs to start with. She was so awesome and understanding and didn’t want to pressure me until i faint. Gonna see her again on Friday :-D Aiming for exercise 5 times a week in the long run, but I have to build up a bit first.
8/30 – 173.0 (-0.2) I get so inspired by all the people who come here everyday and write about their journey. It means everything to read about your goals, weaknesses and strengths and not to mention the motivation behind your weight loss. Keeps me super motivated everyday. I have never been as motivated as I am after I joined MFP. Earlier I could go on these powder diets and feel like I was starving for a few weeks, then I would totally come crashing down with just a big feast of food.. And gain even more weight than I lost! Now, I'm looking at it on a whooole other level and I feel really good. I'm never hungry and I eat food that tastes good and does my body good. I can thank the myfitnesspal community for that. You truly are an inspiration
8/31 - 173.0 (—) After the weight going down everyday for two weeks, this is totally expected. Worked out for 30 minutes today. Balance training and legs/butt/arms. Feels really good, but I get very tired after! Think I actually have to take a little nap if I’m going to survive this Friday 🤭
9/01 - 174.0 (+1.0) I think it's my time of the month very soon.. I have not done anything that could explain this. Ate less than my calorie goal and worked out (didn't eat back workout calories). This fluctuation will probably pass soon
9/02 - 173.5 (-0.5) I was very correct about it being my time of the month Craving carbs like crazy! But eating more protein and oatmeal for breakfast really helps. Not stressing about the weight at all, this will fix itself when my lady troubles are over. I'm logging, staying under my calorie goal and exercising everyday.
9/03 - 173.2 (-0.3) Great! I’m getting ready to go to physical therapy now
9/04 - 172.6 (-0.6) Wooah! Awesome :-D I'm super happy that I went from 175.3 and all the way to 172.6 (-2.7lbs). Did really not expect such a great loss for three rounds in a row! Usually I lose a lot, then it stops for a month or so, then I lose a lot again.. But this is so much better! Much more motivating to see a loss every week. See ya next round!

Starting weight for round 203.6
8/26 205.3 - not a good start. Bad food choices. Went out to eat and ate too many rolls.
8/27 205.3 - at least the rolls haven’t hit yet.
8/28 205 down at least. I am happy. Haven’t followed my diet or exercised so I am grateful it is down.
8/29 204.3
8/30 204 Nice downward trend. Slow but steady. Ready to start the diet and exercise again!! Enjoyed this break but ready to go below 200.
8/31 204.7 Today I start my diet again. Not worried about it going up did eat things I shouldn’t have knowing I was going to start dieting. Did well today with my diet!!! No late night eating!!!
9/1 203.1 It’s nice to know you followed the diet and to see results it really motivates. No late night eating again!!!! Two nights in a row, I think it’s a record for me.
9/2 202.0 Today I went off the diet some. Corn on the cob and summer squash were on sale. Wanted to enjoy some before they are done for the year. Bought some melons too, but haven’t cut them up. Those will be a treat for during the week. Sad to say late night eating returned.
9/3 201.8 I am happy. Hope the fried squash and buttery corn doesn’t show up in tomorrow’s weight.
9/4 202.2 Knew it would probably go up because Monday’s and Tuesday are usually higher and ate off diet Sunday but was still a little disappointed because I really watched my diet and walked like crazy on Monday. But…. I am very happy that I lost 1.4 pounds. The amazing part is that I had gone up the first few days so I also lost those pounds. Happy dance.

30/08 I've been in a tiny deficit this week, could have done so much better but have done a lot of boredom eating, going to shift back to eating dinner later as I think this gave me less time to fridge-raid.
My aim for today is to stick to just dinner when I get home, no fridge-raiding, no excuses!
31/08 Managed to mostly avoid fridge raiding last night - did some time on the exercise bike and a strength training routine to keep me busy before dinner, which I ate around 9pm.
Aims for today are to make up the steps I would normally have gained from walking to work (took a taxi this morning as I had a voucher to use and liked the extra sleep before away camping the weekend).
Won't be able to log weight Saturday or Sunday as I'm away in the West Cork Wilderness.
Hope everyone has a lovely and successful weekend!
03/09 At small deficit/maintenance over the weekend whilst camping, didn't snack much so win win! Glad to be back to my own bed today, I have a day off work today and it's rest day so just going to relax.
04/09 End of my first round - up a little bit, not too worried, increased exercise and have a 22 mile rowing race this weekend.8 -

My official weekly weigh in, is Tuesday evening @ TOPS, so my ticker tape will reflect that loss.

My ultimate goal is 175lbs, so any loss is a good loss.7 -
I'm focusing again this round on following the anti-inflammatory diet I started a couple of weeks ago, with daily walks and meditation.
Goals:
Food ~~ 1430 calories max; P 15-25%, C 35-50%, F 25-35%; anti-inflammatory diet.
Exercise: 60 minutes/day of walking/swimming + daily stretching.
Weight ~~ maintain or lose slowly.

I hate using the iPad app for this but wifi is out. Twice I've hit Done instead of Post. Aaaaagh!

Steady as she goes. I had a nice walk along the river last evening despite the high humidity after several rainy days. Planning more of the same tonight.

Another clear, hot day here. I'm looking forward to lunch with a friend I haven't seen in 10 years, and another walk along the river this evening. Happy hump day!

Yesterday was a salad day and I filled up so much on veggies, fruit, and protein that I just couldn't eat any more. I figure the low calories won't hurt short term, and I'm pretty excited to be less than 2 pounds from my goal for the year. This is uncharted territory!

I'm going to aim for a few more calories today - not crazy about going so low, although I'm filling up just fine at meals. But I know this isn't a good idea for very long. OTOH, I'm feeling itchy now to drop the last 1.8 - still can't believe I'm within spitting distance of my goal!

I'm feeling really good today - very little pain - so hoping to work in my poor, neglected garden a bit and to do some organizing in my home office -- I haven't been able to do that effectively due to pain bending. I'm not "fixed" yet, but I do feel the anti-inflammatory diet + B12 boost + occasional NSAID is making a big difference. And my ticker this morning makes me smile! Have a lovely weekend, all!

I went for a lovely walk last evening and then spent about 45 minutes reading in the county extension office's gorgeous garden, created and maintained by the local Master Gardeners. I like to walk and dream there of my own garden in a year or two (our new yard is a blank slate) and to occupy one of the benches or chair & table set ups to read or meditate. Beautiful place. Here's a glimpse. Take yourself to a beautiful place, alone, and fill yourself up.

My BMI just hit "Normal" at 24.9! WOOHOO! That said, BMI is not really a good measure of healthy weight, especially for people in the second half of their first century. But still! My doctor can now take that "health risk" off my chart, thank you very much. One to go to hit my current target. Who knew an anti-inflammatory diet would take those last 10 pounds off? And it seems to be working on other levels, too, as I'm much less achy. That's it -- breakfast time! Have a lovely Sunday, all.

I'm finding it really hard to increase my calories, especially on days when I eat a lot of fish (like yesterday -- canned salmon for lunch, cod filet for dinner) with veggies & fruit. I realize that's an odd problem to have when trying to hit a weight loss goal, but I do worry that I'm eating too little. My TDEE at the moment, without my usual long walks (because I still hurt and can only manage about 30 min. max), is about 1330-1380, depending on the calculator. I get plenty of fat (~35% of my diet), so don't really want to add more, and I'm quite full at meals. I'm avoiding dairy, flour, and beef at the moment. Any ideas for about 200 healthy calories?

OK, I increased my calories yesterday - ha! I expected a weight increase to go along with them, but not yet. Back to normal eating today, and hopefully a nice long walk. On to R52!

Lots of special events coming up this week. A champagne breakfast for a friend tomorrow, Monday a retirement reception for our beloved pediatrician, Wednesday a goodbye lunch for our summer staff who are leaving to go back to school (Ethiopian food - tracking that will be a challenge). Also on Wednesday our wedding anniversary dinner 32 years! , and on Thursday an end of summer ( ) BBQ. I am hoping for maintenance this round.
8/26 181 Yay! Nice start for the round.
8/27 180.4 First special event successfully navigated! Followed by a long walk with my son in the evening.
8/28 180.4 Second special event successfully navigated, Sparkling water to drink and one mini lemon tart. Was able to stop at one!! Gonna treat myself to a mani-pedi this evening in anticipation of my anniversary.
8/29 180.2 So close to a new decade - but not likely to get there today. Dinner may not happen as hubby is not feeling well, but lunch with students is on.
8/30 181.8 Not bad at all, lunch and diner were delicious. back on track and starting today with a workout.
8/31 179.8 !!!! I suspect its too good to be true - but I am thrilled. That is within spitting distance of my pre-baby weight (He's almost 22) Good motivation to stay on the straight and narrow over the long weekend.
9/01 180.4
9/02 179 Didn't get a chance to check in here yesterday. Spend the day with my son at FanExpo. I was exhausted at the end of it. Lots of walking and no temptations to overeat - the lineups for food were way too long. And my son got a pic with teh voice actors from one of his favourite shows.
9/03 179.4 I am happy with that. No intentional exercise yesterday, but lots of chores . Slightly over cals (i.e.90) Difficult evening but limited the emotional eating to one granola bar. Hoping for a long walk today weather permitting.
9/04 178.4 - not sure that's real but its a nice way to end the round! loss this round is 3.413 -

Round 50 SW 175.6
Round 51 SW 174.0

8/27 174.0/I'm happy to be starting off another round with a loss. At the beginning it was difficult to see the forest through the trees as my weight doesn't decrease very much throughout each 10 day period, but my SW is decreasing over time. My goal for this challenge is to get down to the 171's or to start the next challenge in the 171's. I want to move beyond this decade. I have a trip planned in a little less than a month and would love to lose 8 pounds by then.
8/28 173.6/ Great! I didn’t drink enough water yesterday, but managed to stay pretty close to my calorie goal. It will be about 100 degrees F here today, so I will be drinking plenty of water.
8/29 173.8/ I’m happy to be staying below 174 for a few days in a row, I’m hopeful for a big loss this round. I know that I won’t hit the goal I was hoping for by September 15th but I’d like to be out of this decade.
8/30 173.6/ I had a doctor’s appointment this morning and the nurse congratulated me on losing weight since the last time I had been in the office. My weigh-in is tomorrow, I’m hoping to dip below the 173’s.
8/31 173.0/ This is the lowest weight I’ve seen since January and I’m really happy with it. I know that we’ll be eating out tonight, but I’m hoping to say within calories the rest of the weekend. I’d really like to leave this decade and hit the 160’s soon.
9/01 172.4/ Yes! I was surprised to see this number after eating out last night, but I also logged 13,000+ steps yesterday. I’m trying to load up on water now but expecting a slight gain tomorrow.
9/02 175.2
9/03 175.5 / 100% water weight, I’ve had too much alcohol this weekend combined with not nearly enough water. I told my husband that I need to hit my water goal for the day to make extra sure that I will start to go back down.
9/04 175.4/ This is disappointing, logically I know it’s water weight because I didn’t eat enough to gain 3.1 pounds overnight and my rings are still fitting snug. I’m hoping to see a decrease over the next few days. I am happy to see that a jump up now means the 175s and not the 178s or the 180s like it used to after a weekend of indulging and not drinking water.
