8/31--127.5
9/01--127.7
9/02--128.0
9/03-- 127.2 -- Just a quick post -- but I want to try to keep up with this challenge this time - and the next ones! Glad to see it's going DOWN again! BUT... like others have said, it is the downward trend -- not the daily influxes...keep going and it works -- I'm proof!!
9/04 --127.0 So next challenge -- I'm going to 125. 10 days -- 2 pounds. Sounds GREAT! There's a lot happening in September and beginning of October for me and my family -- and I know I want to feel like I'm ready for it all. Family get togethers, traveling to NYC, and even a wedding to go to. It's the day to day life stuff that motivates me to get to my best and be in my best physical shape now so I can do it all and feel good. Now I'm rambling..... see you all in the next round! I love this group!!!13 -
Been on a steady trend of gaining since January. Overall I think I've gained about 12 lbs. gotta catch it before it sticks. Looking forward to a productive week, off to do some meal planning.

8/28 185.4 Lifted this AM and then ran/walked a mile. Date night tonight.. trying to figure out a good meal to stay within my calories feels challenging. Drinking a big glass of water before we go. Trying not to focus on the number, just getting in the groove of checking in.
8/29 185.8 Date night didn't happen due to kiddo getting injured during dance class so we ate healthy and had a couple of cocktails after she went to bed. Calorie-wise ended up being better I suppose. Getting ready to plan my food for the day. Ready to see a good downward trend get started!
8/30 185.8 A bit surprised the scale isn't budging still. Maybe tomorrow. Last night I wanted to have a cocktail but didn't, had a 1/2 a protein shake instead. Still stayed w/in my calories. Food is planned for today. Now just to stick to it, and drink my water as well!
8/31 185.0 trend line not budging. ho hum.
9/01: 184.6 happy september. I have a goal to lose 9.6 lbs this month.. and a plan to do it as well. My trend line showed green today after 5 days in the red, so I'm happy about that.
9/02 185.8 Well back where I started. We went out for Mexican dinner last night, and I only ate half my food and 7 chips! But I'm thinking it was really salty, combined with a Saturday night drink or two. Drinking water today and hoping for a drop tomorrow.
9/03
9/04 187.2 this puts me at a gain of almost 2 lbs for this round which is actually the opposite of what I wanted. Trying not to feel heartbroken about it. At least i have a realistic picture of my starting point and what my numbers should look like for the next round. Moving onward (and downward)11 -

8/26 - 154.5 - I've got a birthday party today, cataract surgery tomorrow, and a picnic next Sunday. I'm hoping I can drop a little weight this round with all the events this week.
8/27 - 155.5 - I think I ate around maintenance calories last night, so this was probably some water retention. I had my cataract surgery this morning and then I ate the leftover birthday food today, so tomorrow probably won't be any better.
8/28 - 156 - Ouch! Hopefully I can get back to work tomorrow and get back on track.
8/29 - 156 - I'm not feeling quite confident enough to get to work today, but I've been staying on track with my food the past couple days. I hope the weight goes back down soon.
8/30 - 155 - I'm back at my office and hopefully the weight will keep going back down. We're having a surprise out of town guest staying with us for the next few days, so I'll have to be mindful while we're entertaining him.
8/31 - 155.5 - I stayed within my weight loss calories, but I had one drink with my daughter to celebrate her birthday and then later in the evening, a glass of wine to celebrate my stepdaughter's possible home purchase. I always watch my calories so I can have a glass of red wine every evening with my husband. It is interesting how just one extra drink always seems to bump up my weight.
9/01 - 156
9/02 - 155 - I weighed yesterday, but didn't have time to post. I'll try to catch up on everyone's comments sometime soon. We've had a crazy few days and it's not getting any better for the next couple. I'll try to keep the calories at maintenance through tomorrow.
9/03 - 155.5 - I had an extra glass of wine with my sister in law last night. It was worth it.
9/04 - 154 - Wow, I hopped on and off the scale 3 times this morning because I couldn't believe this number popped up. My body just does what it wants to do. I'll take it.12 -

In for my 8th Round!
Round 44 End Weight = 165.8 (5.2 lbs lost)
Round 45 End Weight = 164.9 (0.9 lbs lost)
Round 46 End Weight = 159.6 (5.2 lbs lost)
Round 47 End Weight = 157.2 (2.4 lbs lost)
Round 48 End Weight = 155.2 (2.0 lbs lost)
Round 49 End Weight = 151.2 (4.0 lbs lost)
Round 50 End Weight = 149.9 (1.3 lbs lost)
Stats = 5'4 female, age 48
Highest Weight = 172 lbs
Initial Goal Weight = 139 lbs (last weighed this is 2013)
Ultimate Goal Weight = 129 lbs (last weighed this in 2011)
Round 51 Goal: Anything under 149.0
Exercise Plan = The Betty Rocker 90 Day Challenge (in weeks 6-7 of 12), run outside 3-4 times a week, get 8,000-10,000 steps/day
Nutrition Plan = Continue to limit gluten, dairy, sugar, diet soda, alcohol & eat non-processed foods, protein/fruit/veg at every meal, complex carbs at breakfast and post workout meal, drink plenty of water.
8/26 = 149.9 (no change from yesterday) My sleep and nutrition are struggling, those go hand in hand. I've not going enough sleep since Wednesday of last week and my nutrition choices are suffering for it. I haven't been going over calories, just not make the best choices. I plan to grocery shop and do some meal prep today and get this under control. I completed day 35 of my 90 day challenge exercises yesterday, so it is the start of week 6 exercises on the plan today. School starts back here this Thursday and I'm really looking forward to it for selfish reasons. As soon as my daughter gets on the bus, I have time in the mornings before work to be able to get a quick run in or go for a walk. Summers are hard for me getting my runs in because even though she is 12, I can't leave her home alone even for a quick run and my husband is rarely home due to work. Wishing everyone a great start to Round 51!
8/27 = 149.9 (no change from yesterday) This seems to be a pattern the last couple of rounds, sticking at a certain weight for a couple of days at the beginning. No worries here Yesterday was a great exercise day, went for a 2 mile run, a 2 mile walk and did day 36 of 90: Body Squat to Knee Lift Crunch, Inchworms, Side Lunge to Front Lunge, Supermans with Alternating Extensions, Wall Hold Ups, Ninja Side Kicks, & Get Ups. My run felt really strong yesterday, I could feel new strength in my quads when I hit some hills. As a "recovering" distance runner, it has taken a while to settle in to doing these short runs instead but I am re-discovering my love of running in the process. It is much easier to love something that is making your body feel stronger compared to distance running which had evolved into something that was just taking a toll on my body with injuries. "Run often, run long, but never outrun your joy of running."
8/28 = 149.9 (no change from yesterday) So still holding at this number...Yesterday was a rest day in my exercise challenge and I ate closer to maintenance for calories. I am predicting the scale will drop tomorrow Today, I have day 38 of 90 exercises and I plan to get a walk in as well. I also took my measurements this morning. When I 1st started, I was taking these every 5 days, but have dropped to taking every week/week & half. I looked back to my start measurements on 6/14 and WOW! I have lost 5.5 inches on my waist & 6.5 inches on my bust. My measurements have decreased all over but those are the 2 biggest changes. Feeling very inspired now, if you haven't already done this, start now, take your measurements!
8/29 = 149.9 (6th day at this weight) Well, let's officially call it, I'm at a plateau. I feel like there is nothing left to do but ride this out, I'm doing everything I need to do to lose weight, so just going to let nature take it's course. The scale will drop eventually, I have plenty of weight left to lose. I'm in a okay mindset about this, so all is good here. The awful heat and humidity returned here this week, they are even delaying school openings today in some nearby cities but thankfully today should be the last day of it. My daughter starts school tomorrow, 7th grade! I can't believe it, really hoping for a great year for her. Last year was very difficult for her academically, socially, & emotionally. But she seems to be excited for school to start, has a small group of good friends now, and she got a advisor that she really likes, so all signs point to a good start. And with the start of school tomorrow, so ends my summer sleep-ins. We'll be up 1 &1/2 hours earlier, ACK! So that means an earlier weigh-in time too, interested to see what happens on the scale tomorrow. Stay strong everyone! "Strength doesn't come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn't do."
8/30 = 150.4 (up .5 from yesterday) Earlier weigh-in time, I thought the scale would be a little higher and it was. But here's the thing, our weight fluctuates all day long, the number we see and choose to accept for that day is just a glimpse of where we are in our daily weight range. I track my weight with a trending report and today's trending average is 151.18, if I'm under that then I'm technically in a downward trend (i.e. losing weight). And I'm under that, so calling it a success. Sometimes, I see people post that they couldn't weigh-in everyday because they "couldn't face the scale" that often or it would make them too obsessed with the numbers but I think in actuality what weighing-in everyday does is make you understand that fluctuations happen and that a number is a number, it does not define your progress or your efforts. This week I decided to try on clothes that I have not worn since I was about 144 pounds, even though I weigh about 5 pounds more that that currently. They all fit. So I decided to try on clothes that I have not worn since I was in the 130's and guess what, they fit too! Bodies change and hold weight differently, especially as we age but also as our diets and exercise habits change. I'm as slim now at this weight as I was when I was 15 pounds "thinner". Anyway, those are my thoughts for the day, but don't get me wrong...I would still really like the scale to show a loss soon And I know that it will.
8/31 = 149.0 (down 1.4 from yesterday) Whoosh, that's more like it! Yesterday was a great exercise day, got in a short run and completed day 40 of 90 exercises: Down Dog Flow with Alternating Legs, Alternating Squat Lunges with High Knee, Fighter Combo: Jab, Cross, Jab, Knee, Sumo to Switch, Tricep Dips with Alternating Leg Raises, Prisoner Squats with Side Knee Drive, Total Core Domination II, & Surfer Pop Ups with Push Ups. However it was such a junk food day...I was STARVING all day after breakfast, I blame being up earlier than I am used to. On a typical day, I eat very healthy foods, & if I want to be more indulgent it is usually with something deliciously homemade not processed. But not yesterday, my body was craving junk food, so that's what I ate. I raided my daughter's school lunch food...mac & cheese (lunch), a burrito (snack), and then barbecue potato chips (dinner), GROSS! But happy to report, no binging occurred and I stayed within (slightly under) my calories for the day. And I have no interest in eating like that today, back to my body craving a green smoothie which is more my norm. "It's about creating healthy eating habits, rather than restrictions."
9/01 = 148.6 (down .4 from yesterday) Hello September, I've got big plans for you! This is the month that I will reach a healthy BMI range. I'm just a few pounds away from this, technically still in the overweight range which my mind has always processed in the past as you are a fat person, which is not helpful. Although now, while I know that I am still overweight, I no longer feel like a "fat person" and whatever the negative connotation this had for me is gone. (The negative feeling is an internal one only, I'm not judging anyone else). Just feel now I am a work in progress, being kinder to myself is something I have to work at doing, but it really has been such an enormous part of my weight loss success so far. I read a quote earlier this morning that talked about instead of thinking about what "you have to do" think instead of it as what "you get to do". Thinking in more positive terms can bring about all sorts of amazing changes. I "get to do" a hard workout today, because I have spent the last couple of months making good choices that have strengthened my body and this is now what it is capable of. Have a great weekend everyone, looks for ways to be kind to yourself and grateful for this journey!
9/02 = 148.4 (down .2 from yesterday) Yesterday was an all around good day, lots of good exercise and ate really well. I usually will have a glass or two of wine 1-2 times a week and one of those days is usually on Saturdays but didn't even feel like it yesterday. I haven't had any alcoholic drinks since last Monday, which I think is always so helpful in weight loss, not to be drinking your calories. Today, I have day 42 of 90 workout then tomorrow moves on to week 7 of 12. I'm about halfway done with the 90 day challenge and I have to say it's hard mentally. I much prefer a 30 day challenge, seems so much less daunting. But I will persist and get this done and then have this to look back on as a sign of strength when future 30 day challenges seem hard. "Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength."
9/03 = 147.0 (down 1.4 from yesterday) Not sure this is a real number. The past 3 days have been late weigh-ins due to the long weekend and tomorrow will be an early weigh-in. So there may be a small bounce up, but it will be what it will be. It was super hot here over the weekend but I got my works in, did day 42 of 90 yesterday, a 2 mile run and a 2 mile walk and today knocked out day 43 and a quick 1 mile run. My husband took the day off from work and we were able to have some nice family time and enjoy a relaxing Labor Day. I fasted most of the day (planned OMAD) and then was able to enjoy a really nice dinner, including a slice of homemade pie, without any guilt attached which makes it all the better. Only 1 more day left to this challenge, this one seems to have been the fastest one so far, it flew by I hope everyone had a great weekend, and if you overindulged know that it is just a small blip on the journey you are on, tomorrow is a new day and is yours for what you want to make it.
9/04 = 146.2 (down .8 from yesterday) Wow! Not expecting this number this morning, very happy! Goal met for this round & lost 3.7 pounds. This was a weird round for me, but kept trusting the process and got the results I wanted. I'm in a really good place of actively pursing a healthy life but able to find the balance needed to not feel deprived. See you in Round 52, "You can only fail if you quit."13 -

•8/26 - 183.4 - Fluid retention. Not enough sleep.
•8/27- 182.4 - Tired. Woke up with a slight headache from a couple of champagne cocktails that I drank. Long, but enjoyable day with my family yesterday. We celebrated the first of the end of Summer "cavalcade of birthdays" in our family.
•8/28 - 182 - And yes, still with the fluid retention, steadily coming down and the weight with it. I've never experienced this before. Today I'll update my MFP progress again to my Round 50 end weight.
•8/29 - 183.2 - Here's a weight I skipped. It found me. Thanks buddy. Lol.
•8/30 - 183.6 - The last 183 increment. FINALLY! My body is so peculiar. I did see 181 when I first stepped on the scale. Maybe I will settle to that weight by the end of this round. It depends on whether I have been the full 182 set or not.
•8/31 - 182.6 - 182.8 did show up for the first time. S-M-H. I had not been that weight before. My scale also showed 180 point something this morning. Not a lot of sleep last night. Stayed up late watching videos on coffee filter flower making, then spent time folding and dyeing a pkg of coffee filters. Expensive, time wise, but a LOT less expensive in $$. I think they will be perfect for my friends flower wall.
•9/1 - 182.6
•9/2 - 182.6
•9/3 - 182 - When my son saw me yesterday he said, "Ma, look how skinny you're getting!" That 182 belies that exclamation, but I certainly understand, coming from 253 lbs. Lol. Oh My. There are SO MANY BIRTHDAYS this month in my family. Friends too! But, no more cake for me until October when my little sugar lump turns 2.
•9/4 - 183 - Four hours sleep and early weigh in. Did not drink enough water yesterday. I'll have to spend time in the heat today. The air conditioning is getting to me. Feels too cold inside and I don't want to drink any water. Stayed up until 2 am folding coffee filter flowers and woke up early to get the family, first day of school reports. My two oldest Grands are in new schools this year. One because of a move to a new community, the other starts kindergarten. Both are walkers this year because they live too close to their schools for bus pick up. Of course, I have my concerns with them crossing streets.

Day/Weight/Comment
8/26 - 121.6 Had a lot going on (again). I was able to stick to my plan of no added sugar. Telling myself "I'm done eating" is difficult. The worst time of the day is at night... it seems like once I eat, I continue eating. The "Kitchen is Closed" sign is going to have to have a padlock on it! Goal is to live this life for God and to be continually thankful for the life he has given me. I need to take care of this body in the best way I can. Sometimes my mind gets a little obsessed with food and I cave in. Yes, I know what I am supposed to do, but it is so hard and sometimes I give in which creates a spiraling effect.
8/27 - 121.6 – got a nice bike ride in. VERY humid and did the “big” hill!
8/28 – 123 – Did good yesterday and am thinking the weight gain is due to salt. I guess we’ll see tomorrow! Swam 30 minutes this morning, so I’m off to a good start! 14 mile bike ride.
8/29 – 123 – Not happy that the weight didn’t go down. Food was good but I need to drink more water. Night time (after dinner) is still an issue. Goal for today is to stop eating when my calorie max is reached. Did water aerobics this morning with a bike ride planned for this afternoon. 22 mile bike ride
8/30 – 121.8 – Finally! Food was in line with my plan yesterday. Swam 20 minutes this morning. Bike ride (commute) today and group ride tonight. Update: Had a headache all afternoon, didn’t go to the group ride and went to bed right after dinner.
8/31 – 123.8 - ?? Maybe wine? Normally don’t have a glass but my body seems to be extremely “weight” reactive to anything “not on plan”. Ok. No more. Plan is to eat clean and stay on plan… only 5 more days left. I can do this! This morning I swam for 30 minutes and biked (commuted) for 45. Weather is nice and may bike to a friend’s to kayak. 😊
9/01 - 123.8. Really tired yesterday. Biked 40 minutes yesterday but was really tired. Overate, probably due to being tired and trying to “rev up the engine”. Not a good thing. I have to learn to only eat when hungry. I once read that “if you’re not hungry, food isn’t going to fix it”. I need to think about that more before I put food into my mouth. Did water aerobics for 60 minutes this morning. Love that class and the people in it. Attending a funeral today and closing our pool down. The weather is dark & dreary… not looking good for the next two weeks and there is no sense heating the pool for that kind of weather. This is my least favorite time of year as it is a visible reality that winter is coming! New vow: Try to change my mindset to look at life in a more positive manner! Goal for today: only eat when hungry! Smile!
9/02 – 121.0. Glad the weight came back down. Swam for 30 minutes this morning as we just didn’t have enough time to close the pool down yesterday. Today is the day and the rain is holding off, so we (hubby) should have enough time to close it. It’s like saying goodbye to an old friend for a long time. On to a new routine! Bad headache this morning, possibly due to poor sleep last night. Goal for today: Only eat when truly hungry and only at planned meal times, not because I’m tired or have a headache. No eating after supper. Only two days left on this round I want to kill it!
9/03 – 121.8. No reason that I can think of for the increase and given that it has taken me a while to gain the weight, I’m not going to wory about it. NSV: Yesterday was a no-cheat day (despite having little sleep and a headache). Aiming for a no-cheat today too. Need to plan out the new fall exercise routine. As usually, when the seasons change and I am forced to change-up my exercise, I flounder around until I settle in again. Weather is rainy and probably will stay that way for the next couple of weeks, so I am either going to squeeze in a workout between the drops or resort to my Beachbody online. Again, if it is Beachbody, I’m not sure which one I want to do. Being 59 yo, I don’t like “jumping” which makes me discouraged when I constantly have to modify. Anyone else out there in their upper 50’s/low 60’s? What do you do?
9/04 – 122.4 (popcorn last night). Although not ‘off plan”, Hubby wanted popcorn and so… I ate it … even though I wasn’t hungry. That is the thing that gets me. Why did I do it anyways? In reality, I didn’t enjoy it like I sometimes do.
Overall results this round = +.8
This is the first time I’ve actually stuck with something like this and I’m happy that I did it. Looking forward to the next 10 days!

Good morning

Round 49: SW 186 EW: 184.53 (1.47 lbs lost this round)
Round 50: SW 184.53 EW: 178.79 ( 5 .74 lbs lost this round).
Round 51: SW178.79 EW: 175.92 lbs (2.87 lost this round)
My Goal for the next 10 days : if i Can have same results as previous round that will be awesome but i will try to do better.
Strategy: eat better, drink vinaigre acide twice a day, burn 350-400 cal by doing exercices . Intermittent fasting. This round will try not to eat after 6PM, it seems that's very helpful for weightloss.

Day/Weight/Comment
8/26 154.8 Impromptu much needed date night last night, adult beverages and fried appetizers but so worth it. Last round was difficult, although I did pull it together at the end. My plan for this next 10 days is to continue my 5/7 days of exercise, log everything (some nights when I go off the rails I don't log) and get to152 for this round. My weight loss has slowed, but that is a direct result of my actions. Just remembering its a long game, not a sprint, and slow loss is still good because it is giving me more time to truly ingrain the habits and the lifestyle that will make this loss sustainable for the long haul.
8/27 WEIGH IN DAY 155.2 Hmmm...Too much snacking and not enough moving. Ate at maintenance yesterday. Today is Monday, a new week. I have had 2 rounds of stagnancy, this means that if I get a hold of my sticktoitiveness I can reach my 152.xx goal without much crying!
Time to refocus on why I am doing this.
1. I want to feel good about my body
2. Hard is good.
3. I like to work towards a goal.
4. I am setting an example for my family
5. This is the only body I get, and I want to take care of it
6. I really want to reach my goal and take an impromptu trip to Maui as a reward! (...though I may not be able to leave my puppy...he's so attached to me and I to him!)
8/28 154.2 Good day yesterday eating, walking, and overall. Just piping in that it really helps me to read everyone's successes and challenges. We seem to go in waves...
8/29 154.8 It appears I am stuck hovering here since the beginning of round 50. I know I have not been as diligent as when I started the challenge at keeping my calories low, but I have not gone over excessively. My weight did hold here at 155-157 for several years, so maybe it's my comfort weight? Slightly chubby but not too bad? I know I need to step up the exercise so I can see inch results, and I have to a degree, but have been putting off the next level. I will take measurements later and see if there is any change there since my weight loss has slowed to .5 lb a week.
8/30 154.2 Good walk, hills, eating within range. Really hoping to see a bigger drop soon...bbq Saturday at my house with lots of food, stressful for me must remember to stay calm and not stuff my face.
8/31 153.8 Good day yesterday, walked hills, spa day with my daughter, trip to Asian market to get some goodies.
9/01 154.6 Stress triggered carb loading. I get anxiety about entertaining. I have lots of tools to deal with it, but sometimes I think I just want to be upset. Not sure if this is hormonal or what. I went through a period of being okay with everything, I thought I had life and the secrets all figured out, but then I discovered that this was not true. Life brought me a lot of challenges and tests, this year especially, and sometimes I feel lost again, though I have so so so much to be appreciative and grateful for.
9/02 152.8 Survived the BBQ. What really worked for me was to fast. It helped my anxiety and also eliminated alcohol and mindless eating. I had one egg in the morning, then throughout the party I just drank pellegrino, and then had a small dinner when everyone left. It was *mostly* stress and anxiety free, plus I lost instead of gained! This is the first time I have done this intentionally as a tool and it really helped me. I think I will also do this next week at another party we are invited to. I have tried using moderation, but that is so much harder than abstinence when I am in a stressful situation. Today is cleanup and a nice long walk with my neglected pups, light eating to keep this trend! ***Thank you for all the ((hugs)) yesterday! It really helps!
9/03 WEIGH IN DAY 151.8 Yay! Weighed myself 3 times to be sure it wasn't a fluke, my scale often teases me but it repeated! My progress over the last 30 days has only been 3.6 lbs down with this drop, so I am super happy that the scale is finally moving. I think it is because I shook things up a little, plus mentally shifting to realize something needed to change. I have so far met my goals for this round as far as weight, logging, and exercise, and as far as eliminating emotional eating... well, I guess emotional "fasting" is a good remedy for me! We get to see our grandbabies today so I will get to snuggle and love them, can't wait! To all of you, be kind to yourselves today, forgive your mistakes, and embrace the success that you are working towards a difficult goal, and doing it!
9/04 152.2 Nice end to this round! I set a more aggresive goal for next round, riding on the success of the last few days. Learning that it is ok for my tummy to rumble, and I made it through my self induced stress out without turning to food! Feeling good about my body, looking at a lot of before and after photos of people and getting re-inspired. It is amazing what these bodies can do if we treat them with love! Have a great day everyone, and see you next round!!11 -

8/26 162.4 new week new start. Ate good, walked around with my hubby but my water needs to be better, 1 liter. Hope everyone has a great week!!
8/27 161.6 90 min of endurance challenges (plank, crunches, pushups, squats) ate delicious healthy food and drank 1.5 liters of water. Happy to see this number!!!! I know (from experience) that if I keep this up I will easily reach the 50s. Having said that though, I know once I start my 50s those 10 pounds will be way harder to take off from the last 15. Not going to think about that now though, just planning to keep moving forward.
8/28-- 161.4 I drank a bottle of water before I weighed in....oops. Yesterday I had another boost of energy which I find is happening more often then it used too. I did 150 min of exercising, the only issue with that being I ended up staying up till 1 30 in the morning 😥😥 i took the day off because I am going to the hospital with my aunt for the day (nothing serious) so at least I got to sleep in longer then usual but i do need to better manage these energetic days. I was also less hungry, forcing down my food. I always feel like there is no comfortable medium for me I am either always hungry or not hungry at all. 1.6 liters of water
8/29 ---160.8 crazy morning..So happy I can finally post. Ate out yesterday (haven't gone out to a restaurant in forever) but grabbed all healthy alternatives and stayed within my calorie goal. I'm excited by this number but yesterday's lunch had tons of sodium so I am hoping that this number doesn't increase too much or at all by tomorrow. Walked a good amount of the day and didn't get around to my usual work out routine (guess yesterday was my one rest day this week) and drank 1 liter of water. I can't wait to see those 50s, but I am trying not to get my hopes up just yet...TOM will be here in a couple of days
8/30-- 160.6 my body likes to tease me as I reach a new weight range. Exercised for 90 min, ate within my calories and 1.6 liters of water. Hope everyone has a great day.
8/31-- 160.6 feeling bloated today. My TOM is supposed to be here this weekend so first comes the feeling of being bloated and fat, next comes a slight weight gain. Usually I don't get upset by a weight gain, knowing that it will drop immediately after my first day, this time around I am slightly peeved. I am so close to those 50s and now I am going to be teased lol. On a positive note I took my measurements yesterday and in the past two weeks I have lost 1 and a 1/2 inches on my waist and 1/2 inch on my hips....not too bad if I do say so myself. 1.5 liters of water yesterday, ate within my calories and 90 min of endurance training. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
9/01--160.2 still holding my breath for that gain I am expecting (my TOM is due monday, made a small mistake a couple of days ago thought it was supposed to arrive today until I checked my calender) ackkkk the suspense is killing me lol. I can taste those 50s. Ate within calories, exercised over 90 min and drank 1.6 liters of water. I hope everyone has a great weekend
9/02-- no scale. Yesterday went down to the CNE, walked for over 10 hours and stayed away from all the delicious smelling foods and junk. NSV for sure!!
9/03-- 161.6 and there it is folks. TOM arrived this morning. I know for a fact it isn't anything I did wrong because not only did I eat healthy and below my calories on Saturday, while walking for 10+ hours straight but yesterday I ate good, stayed below my calories and went swimming for 3+ hours. Staying away from cookies and other junk food (besides a sliver of fudge, but I weighed it and added it to my diary, wasn't all that much) ate half a burger and fruit. I'm also grumpy today lol. Tomorrow I should see a drop again, I don't know if I will hit my goal of leaving these 60s behind and seeing the 50s, but it won't stop me from trying. Glad I am home today though, tons of cleaning and MFP to catch up on. It's amazing the amount of back log I have being away for two days. Anyway Happy Monday all.
9/04 161.4 still waiting for the bloating to subside. Didn't end up exercising yesterday, although I know I should have. Drink 1 liter of water and went over my calories by 10, which I haven't done in weeks.
What I have learned: I need more water...don't know why it is so difficult. I took 2 days off from exercising (for the ten days) which is great!!! I am looking to do much of the same next round and I am expecting a bigger difference. See you all next round 😀12 -

8/26 162 woohoo! Going to try and be good today, another birthday celebration. We are having taco salad and I know there will be cake!
8/27 161 yayy! I ate under my goal yesterday, but I skipped dinner since I had a big lunch I wasnt hungry.
8/28 161
8/29 161 still doing well not going over my calorie range, but having more days where I'm not eating enough and I can't close out my diary. Going to try and get to the grocery store today to get some more fruits/veggies, so I can snack on those on days when I need the extra calories. I'm happy that I'm getting full quicker though, that's a plus. A couple months ago I wanted to eat everything in the house!
8/30 160.5 We were invited to a friends house for swimming and dinner today, so this number might go up tomorrow. The husband makes the BEST wine. I'm sure I'll be having a glass or two. Gonna try and get a good workout in today.
8/31 161 expected a little gain, had 2 generous glasses of wine last night and dessert. It's ok though, I'll take it. I still expect to meet my goal of another pound this round 😊
9/01 160.5 come on 150's! Super proud I of myself and that I haven't given up!
9/02 160 😊. Got a good walk in yesterday before it got too humid out, and did zumba. The past several days I've been exhausted, more so than normal. Have thought about increasing my calories a little. I am currently not taking any vitamins because they have always made me sick, but I may have to try them again.
9/03 160 So happy my round goal was met yayyy
9/04 160. Ready for round 52! I have been getting exercise in almost every day, going to continue that. Also still working on decreasing the sugar and carbs, its getting easier. Good luck everyone!13 -
(edited my entry from this morning as I completely mis-typed my weight earlier)
This round will be tricky for me, as for the first half I will be abroad on a family visit, a trip which will be full of temptations in the shape of wine, cake, snacks and restaurant dinners (basically everything that I've so successfully been avoiding in the previous round...).
Therefore for this round I will mostly focus on maintaining and to stay below 65.5kg (144lbs).

#49: 137.2 - 136.0 = -1.2
#50: 136.0 - 135.4 = -0.6
8/26: 135.4, late dinner
8/27: 135.4, another late dinner
8/28: 134.6, picnic date with beer, spicy pan fried coconut chicken breast cutlets (Paleo and Keto friendly), roasted gold potatoes, red bell pepper, shallots, rosemary and hot Hatch chili (low cal and lower fat), and a salad of spinach, figs, strawberries, tomatoes, and raw almonds tossed with a tart vinaigrette (Paleo and low cal).
I love to cook and find it very rewarding to create dishes that are tasty and fit into most eating plans. My date leans more towards Paleo which is fine with me. The roasted potato dish was 1/3 vegetables and helped round out the meal to prevent overeating.
8/29: 134.6
8/30: 136.0, late dinner and too many calories. No junk food, just too much. I’m never really satisfied with any meal, no matter how amazing it may be. I’m beginning to think I have a problem with the hormones responsible for satiety.

8/28, 231, Just fat I guess. Pretty sure my garmin is inflating my calories burned each day. Gonna stay much farther under my calorie goal from now on.
8/29 Forgot to weigh in, adjusted calorie goal to lose 2 pounds per week, mostly ignoring calories burned as per my garmin.
8/30, 230, So glad it wasn't stuck at 231 again.

Day/Weight/Comment
8/26 - 149.4 - Oh come on! ugh, I give up. Not actually but this is really frustrating, time to find some motivation and something to finally get my body to start dropping the weight again.
8/27 - 149.4 - My 10 day average shows a loss so that's something I guess. Got to get back on track before these numbers tell a different story.
8/28 - 148.6 - well I'm finally heading back in the right direction, hopefully it keeps dropping each day this round.
8/29 - 148.6
8/30 - 149.8 - worked out yesterday, sore muscles this morning so hopefully just holding water and it will be gone soon.
8/31 - 149.8 - I even turned down donuts and pastries at work yesterday and instead ate grapes and yogurt and I still weigh in heavy. Ugh
9/01 - ?? - Didn't weigh in this morning decided to sleep in instead . Ate lunch out yesterday with my mom but went to Panera Bread and only had a bowl of soup, the bread to dip and a water to drink. I hope to see a drop by the end of this round, got my September goals set up and already worked out this morning and planning on swimming later today after some shopping.
9/02 - 147.8 - excited but not overly because I weighed in less than this a couple rounds back so if the pattern holds I'll be jump back up.
9/03 - 147.8 - Day 3 of 30 of September workouts, hoping it helps push me over this hump I've been stuck on. Busy day outside yesterday, looking forward to a relaxing labor day in our pool today.
9/04 - 149.4 - Not worried about the weight, the past few weigh ins were a lot later than when I weigh in through the week. I think I should stop weighing in on the weekends since I'll never get up as early as through the week and it is throwing things off. Day 4 of 30 of September workouts today.12 -

Hmm - I somehow messed up my days last round. No surprises there as I have very little routine right now and all my days are bleeding together! Whoops.
8/26 - Sunday - 185.5*
8/27 - Monday - 186.5* - So much salt the past few days. And so much moving. Got the table done, last heavy thing is the grill. Which is HEAVY. Landlord gave us the extra weekend to move/clean, yay! Still on an emotional roller coaster with the house - change is really hard for me. My dad reminded me that I cried when he painted the house, and also cried when they got rid of a 20 year old couch. So yeah, even good change is hard for me. But I'm learning not to hold to tightly to my feelings - the feelings come and go a little easier these days - I know its okay to feel scared of change, but I have to let it go and feel excited too! Applying these ideas to my weight loss journey too.
8/28 - Tuesday - 185.5* - More pizza and salt last night. Pretty wild day at work so I did not eat much, then basically binged when we finally ate. Need to avoid too skewed of eating and find a happy balance again. I need to start eating my breakfast protein shake again - not getting enough protein in general. And I find when I skip it I'm more likely to put off eating until I'm ravenous and it does not end well. Reminding myself in ALL aspects of my life that simply trying is the first and biggest hurdle for me. I've been stuck in a fixed mindset, that if I try something and fail, I'm somehow less smart because I did not succeed. But I'm moving towards a growth mindset - that trying and failing does not take anything away from me, it only gives me an opportunity to learn and grow from it - so keep trying!!!
8/29 - Wednesday - 185.5* - Still using new house scale. Still hovering around this weight. Mom helped me clean the apartment yesterday. Moms are the best. Packed, loaded and unloaded 2 cars worth of boxes. We worked hard and it was so hot! Moes for dinner - ate half my quesadilla and felt full! Another scorcher today. Will probably unpack some boxes tonight, and finish final moving tasks on Saturday; final dump run, scrapper to pick up washing machine etc, AAA to tow car, and move the grill and garden. Trying to be gentle and kind to myself as we adjust and find our new normal.
8/30 - Thursday - 185.0* - A ridiculous day at work had me hardly eating again. Took my PM meds and ended up light headed and woozy. Not enough water, not enough food, not enough energy to cook, not enough AC in the world to keep our house cool. So we went to the grocery store and grabbed a cheeseburger plate from the market for $3 and 750 calories its my new "I need to eat dinner that's not take out but want take out" meal! Emptied two boxes and set up basement game room so we watched a movie down there where it was cool and didnt do much else. I know I need to drink lots of water and eat an adequate amount so I can finish this move strong. Definitely starting to burn out so I need to be mindful and work with my body, not against it.
8/31 - Friday - 184.0* - I seent it! Now to make it stay for this round. Tuna sandwich for lunch yesterday hit the spot - going to have that more. Dog park and quick sausage sandwich for dinner last night. Unpacked a few boxes. I put on a pair of khakis this morning that I havent worn in about 2 weeks and they are HUGE! So even though the scale has been pretty stagnant I feel very little! Also puts me about 1.5 lbs away from 30 lbs lost! The move has actually put me a little ahead of schedule so far and I'm being careful to remain at a healthy rate of loss, not so fast that I lose muscle. Final push to finsish apartment tonight and tomorrow - feels like such a neverending saga but theres a light now!
9/01 - Saturday - 185.0* - September, wow! Moved all day long. Heavy outdoor equip and all garden stuff. Mom helped. Long day. Takeout chinese last night and takeout Italian tonight. Back for more moving in am. Then need to get to grocery store tomorrow as well. Got the grill up finally dinners should feel more normal again on really hot days. Settling in!!
9/02 - Sunday - 185.5* - moved more appliances, crashed hard in the afternoon
Quick power nap and grocery store trip. A few hours at the lake this evening. Ate burgers and smores. Havent logged anything this weekend but going to back and log it when I'm not falling asleep. My scale is somewhwre here in a box...will try to find that tomorrow.
9/03 - Monday - 184.0* - Stayed up late watching a movie last night. Slept in. Slow easy morning, off for the holiday. Then we started yard work and more moving. Worked so hard for about 5 hours. Mowed the lawn myself! My first time mowing my own lawn!!! Oddly zen and satisfying. Moved more heavy furniture into place. DH treated roofs and weeded - the yard looks amazing! I made a quick dinner and BIL and MIL came over. Had a fire and smores! Too hot to sleep in bedroom so we passed out downstairs on the couch. Went up to bed around 2am and the dog was woofing all night. Poor city dog is not used to the country. None of slept that great, done with this humidity!!!
9/04 - Tuesday - 185.5* - This scale sucks. Will find mine tonight (I know I keep saying that...)! It's probably water weight from all the heavy lifting and landscaping? But I got on the scale again fully clothed shoes and all and it still said 185.5 so I'm like ehhhh. Not really sweating it though, last round was a crazy loss and I don't want to do it too fast! I'm feeling super strong and my clothes are all wicked loose. Really hoping to hold out for a new wardrobe until spring, but we will see...some of my clothes are so baggy I forget that I'm actually smaller underneath them. So I will consider buying a few staple pieces that fit properly to keep up with the weight loss mentally.13 -

8/26 / 225.4 / Yoinks!
8/27 / 223.8 / End of TOM means good things.
8/28 / 223.6 / Nice! I ate well yesterday. Today there were fries, which is not a Good Idea.
8/29 / 223.6 / Nice to see my Fry Impropriety didn't hurt anything.
8/30 / 223.4 / I'm a big fan of this sort of gradual decrease. My digestive system is not happy with me right now, which is charming. I hope everyone is having a motivated 10 days!
8/31 / 224.2 / Significant digestive upsets happening over here! My poor husband had oral surgery this morning, so this is going to be a rough day, I predict. But I'm in a good mood and I hope everyone is hanging in there.
9/1 / 221.8 / That was a surprise! I guess I'm no longer retaining quite so much water! It was a bit of a late weigh-in, but I'll take it! That takes me to 30 pounds lost.
9/2 / 221.6 / I had nachos yesterday. I limited the damage but should probably avoid nachos for the most part. Of course, I don't think I have had nachos for about five years, so I guess I have been avoiding them pretty effectively!
9/3 / 220.8 / Feeling good. I've been lazy about exercise recently, but today will see a change in that. If I do it right, I'll expect a water weight gain tomorrow from some sore muscles. I have a number of challenges I've given myself for the next four weeks and I made progress on all of them yesterday. I had a no meat day, a no caffeine day, a 5 fruits/veggies day, and a clean desk day!
9/4 / 220.8 / Surprised I didn't get a bump at all. I did 130 minutes of exercise yesterday, cardio, flex, and strength. Great round for me, with lots of the volatility I'm used to!

R49--AW: 220.7 (-) EW: 221.3 (-)
R50--AW: 219.7 (-1) EW: 218.9 (-2.4)
Goal: Be conscious of my snacking in the evenings.
8/26--218.4 Zumba was great yesterday. Installing the closet organizers yesterday took longer and was a lot more work then I thought, but so far so good. I was so focused on the closet yesterday that I hardly drank any water...I can definitely feel it this morning. Plan is to finish putting up the wall paper and installing some more of the closet organizer. I am so sore from yesterday that the plan, assuming the rain holds off, is to go for a long walk.
8/27--219.3 I don't know where that weight came from, I can only assume it's the lack of water I had over the weekend and the soreness from working on the closet organizer...which is now 2/3 done. Regardless, my weight trend is still downward. Forgot to bring my running shoes for a lunch time walk, so going to Zumba tonight and hopefully work on the closet a little this evening.
8/28--220.0 Late check in. Went for walk yesterday with dog. Did some more work on closet and relaxed for rest of evening.
8/29--220.6 Hmmm, I have been feeling heavy these last 3 days and it is showing in the scale. No idea why. This has happened before so I need to figure out why. The first thing I can think of is my water, I have not been drinking my same level of water over the past 3 days as I usually do, so that is the first thing I will make an adjustment to and then see what happens. Regardless of the weight increase I have been eating within my calorie goals, so that is a positive.
8/30--219.7 Feeling less heavy today. Went to yoga yesterday. I am increasing my water today and will see what happens. Plan is long walk this evening.
8/31--218.6 Feeling so much better. I was just telling my husband yesterday how when I used to have that heavy feeling all the time it was so normal and now I feel so uncomfortable when I have that heavy feeling. Went for a walk last night and, assuming it stops raining, I will go out for another walk tonight.
9/01--218.2 Saw the scale flash in the 217's. Going to Zumba this morning and then off to a friend's child's birthday party later today. My plan for the party is to drink nothing but water, limit myself to one dessert, and then take a long walk after the party.
9/02--218.2 Other than the fact the walk wasn't very long, I followed the plan from yesterday.
9/03--218.0 Did not drink enough water yesterday. Goal for today is to get my water in and go for a bike ride or long walk. Scale again flashed in the 217's, we'll see what happens tomorrow.
9/040--218.2 Scale still flashing in the 217's.

8/28 Tuesday-196 I feel gross and need to really do something about it. We are taking the kids to Hawaii in less than 6 weeks and I want to feel better. I have been reading about IF and I’m going to give it a shot.
8/29 Wednesday-194.3 Fasted 16 hours after only 8 hrs of eating. Felt hungry by breakfast but I can do this. Decided to sign up for the gym that is 100 yards from my daughters dance studio. If I need to be there for an hour twice a week, I have no excuse not to get some cardio in. The gym was crowded and there are lots of big guys at the weights. I think I stick to cardio and look into the classes.
8/30 Thursday-193.6, IF=16:9. Already hit goal this week! Went to the gym while my daughter was in ballet and got in 30 minutes of cardio. Plus, I hit my 10K steps for the first time in forever!!!! It was a good day
8/31 Friday- 193.4 IF=18:? Off for the long holiday weekend for a road trip to San Diego. I will not have a scale but the goal is to stay within calorie limit ... it’s going to be tough.
9/1 No scale.

9/3 Well, I blew it this weekend. I made poor choices and will have to face the music in the morning. I enjoyed the weekend and will work hard this week to make up for my poor choices.
9/4 Tuesday- 195.1 I am not surprised at the increase since I messed up over the weekend. Lots of water today and will stay eat clean.

8/31- 203 : yesterday was probably just inaccurate- I definitely ate too much junk. I have a habit of being good with my meals then suddenly starving after 7pm and then having sweets and peanut butter 😫. I just have to eat more protein during meals to sustain my hunger because of breastfeeding. Eating sweets is not satisfying to anything other than my sweet tooth 😏
9/01- 202.5 (scale only goes by .5 intervals)- I watched my sugar and fat intake..definitely didn’t think it was enough for improvement.
9/02 - back to 203 which is no surprise after a very late night Oreo McFlurry 🧐 must remind myself that these things aren’t worth the money or the calories!

9/04 - 202.5 which I’m happy about considering the types of food I’ve been eating these last two days with the holiday. On to the next round!

Ready to start my second round. This is a great challenge program. One day at a time!69 YO Texas Male
Highest Weight 290
Round 50 EW 277 (-13 lbs)
Round 51
Start Weight 277
Goal Weight 274
Final Goal 190
8/26 - 276.5 lbs (-.05) lbs Good start again. Had some fajita chicken smothered in garlic butter sauce last night and thought I would hold or gain water. Nice to see neither happened.
8/27 - 276.5 lbs (No Change) Not unexpected after so many days of good losses. Staying under calorie and carb limits. Last round I was well under those limits. Easing up a bit this round but still expecting to reach my goal for round 51.
8/28 - 274.5lbs (-2.0) lbs Well that was a pleasant surprise. I was not expecting that much of a loss but I'll take it. Staying on a routine has been good for my weight loss program. I am leaving tomorrow for a week visit to family in Houston and thats going to make it hard to stay on my routine. I will do the best I can and since after tomorrow I can't weigh in each day till I get back on the fourth I will update how the routine is or is not going. Hang tough everyone. It's getting done!
8/29 – 274.0 (-0.5) lbs Round 51 Goal Reached!! Perfect timing as we are off to Houston later this morning for a visit with family. We will be gone until next Monday so no weigh in until then but will be posting daily updates on how the routine is (or is not) going. I have been doing a lot of Subway salad meals for dinner and that seems to be just filling enough while keeping the carb intake in check. Good to know I can find a Subway most anywhere today. Helpful to stay in focus and on track.
8/30 -No scale- First day out on our trip and went to Golden Corral all you can eat restaurant for dinner. Do I need to say more? Disaster! Glad I have a few more days to get out of this one.
8/31- No scale- Ok day two on the trip. Had to stop at our old Bar B Que favorite place that we had not been to n 15 years. How bad could a Baked potato with all the toppings be right? Holy Cow! You should see the Potato! Oh well... never give up. Never surrender.......

9/04 284.0 (+10) Argggg what a disaster! Well I knew it was going to be bad when I got back from our trip but didn't think it would be this bad. Actually hit my goal early then blew it big time when out camping. Well on to the next challenge. I expect a lot of this is fluid buildup but still not healthy to have such large swings in weight. Better results ahead.
