I have a drink, and just count the cals, I still loose weight. I think the key is moderation. I think shorts are the best, because they have lower carbs.

I use a polar heart rate monitor with Own Zone range. It is very clever, it gives you fitness tests; calculates your calories; and calculates your fitness zone. Seems to work very well for me.

Look at your carbohydrate types. You are looking for slow releasing carbohydrates, and protein. Avoid processed food and sugar/glucose. Believe it or not fresh fruit can be quite high in sugar. This messes up your blood sugar levels and makes you feel hungry. Keep at it.

I think the general approach is that you can if you want, the system will modify itself when you have lost your first 10lbs based on your motabilism. If you find you are not loosing weight, reduce the net calorie intake. If you don't eat them, you should loose weight faster. Most areas recommend you aim for 2lb's per week…

Worth trying some of the other measures as well as weight. If you have been training a lot, you could have put on some muscle, which is all good stuff...
