I want to share this quote with you that I look at every day. 'Losing weight is hard. Being overweight is hard. Choose your hard.' Remember that doing a small thing is still doing a thing - so every day take a step or two that gets you closer to your goal - like your walk. When your motivation lags, read all the reasons…

My goal this week is to track every day. I have to do this daily to stay motivated. How is everyone doing?

I have been incredibly busy and losing track of this goal. Today I am recommitting to tracking and posting. It is amazing how a day flies by so fast. I haven't gotten on the scale this week because I don't want to get discouraged. I will weigh in at the end of this week.

Back to tracking this week - it really is always an eye-opener. How is everyone doing?

I have now lost 2 pounds and 1 1/2 inches off my waist. I've been horribly busy - dealing with repairs needed at home. Busy time. I didn't track but I did make a 2020 vision board that I look at every day and especially when I'm on the treadmill. My exercise efforts have been consistent and my food better than last week.…

Does anyone have an update? I have been burning the candle at both ends and am struggling to stay on track. How is everyone doing?

Bit of a rough weekend again. Didn't track every day but did amazing on my exercise. Most of the week I ate very well. I haven't weighed myself yet since starting again - I need to feel a bit different and have my pants fit a bit looser to get on the scale. I know that if I haven't lost a pound I'll be discouraged, so I'm…

I was doing great and then the weekend derailed my progress AND on Monday I was really tired and unmotivated. Got back on track today though. I am trying to plan my meals in advance too - to try to stay ahead of things. I have to tell you all that although I ate lots of yummy stuff at a family party on Sunday - I felt…

I bought Figure 8 and am going to try it today - I will let you know how it goes. I need fun exercise to keep me motivated. Struggled a bit with food yesterday - couldn't shake the hunger beast. What do you all do on those 'still hungry' days?
-
Did a great workout today. I find regular exercise easier to stick with than food restrictions. But today was a good day all around. How is everyone doing?

Yesterday I stuck to food intake almost perfectly. Instead of a walk, I did 30 mins Qi Gong due to my schedule. Down 1 pound so far since Monday!

Thanks for all the posts! Today I am staying on track for food intake. Today I am going to walk for an hour or start the Figure 8 DVD exercise plan that I bought in the New Year. It will be a good day.

Hi all - thanks for your comments. Sorry, I should have clarified - that I am still tracking everything here. When I enter foods, everything comes up, including calories. But I'm more concerned about counting 'net carbs' in my overall diet as the number one marker, rather than 'calories' as the number one marker. The only…

I am 60 years old now and my goal weight is 135 pounds at 5' 1"! I spent most of my adult life at 120 - 130 pounds, but since I have a large bone structure and some muscle, I was always happy with this weight. Now, at 60 years old, at over 170 pounds (mostly gained after menopause, but gradually each decade too), losing a…

I just started Keto this week for the first time. The best thing about it for me is eating when I'm hungry. That's huge! When I had my egg, cheese & English muffin or bun for breakfast, I was hungry 2 hours later. Now, without the muffin or bun, I'm not getting as hungry. I am going 4-5 hours sometimes without hunger,…

I have just started Keto this week for the first time ever. I bought 3 Keto books on Amazon so that I wouldn't get tired of the same old, same old. I'm not a big egg fan myself. There are some good recipes in these books and I also got some ideas online at dietdoctor.com. You could also borrow some Keto cookbooks from the…

I've just started Keto this morning. I also love carbs. I am going to look into the bread substitutes. I have a couple of good books to guide me. I was pre-diabetic at my last blood test review also.

I am new here and stumbling around getting the hang of it. Started today to track food and focus on my health. Goals for Sept: * Track food & exercise * Increase exercise (sign-up for Zumba Gold & keep that meeting with the trainer) * Move every day even if it's just for 15 mins to start * Make time for me- for my health…

Thank you both for the encouragement, Lynda and Aracely!

I just had a milestone birthday and am 50 pounds overweight. It's time to do something before ill health robs me of my ability to enjoy life. My start date is tomorrow - Sept. 3, 2019. Who is with me?
