Thank you for your insight, it has helped me out a lot.

And what about rest days when you are not on the bike, how do you handle your caloric intake then?
-
Ok I will take all this into account and change up the way I have my MFP activity set up. When you do have days where you consume 3000+ calories do you hold a lot of water weight the following day? I find that sometimes I will be up 2 to 4 pounds the next morning. Is that normal? @sijomial
-
@sijomial what kind of foods do you eat in order to reach that calorie goal. I find it hard to hit 3,000 + calories.
-
^ also I don’t “eat back” calories burned but I do want to eat enough for optimal nutrition and make sure I’m giving my body the right amount of energy so I can improve and perform well on the bike.
-
@sijomial i put myfitness pal activity to “very active” and it gave me a calorie goal of 3050 calories a day. I see the calories curbed on my strava account and Apple Watch but take the numbers they give me very lightly as I know they are known to be inaccurate, after my rides it will say I burned around 1200 calories. I…

Yeah I totally get it, I used those things for weight loss. But now that I’m trying to maintain maybe I should start back using oils, but butter, and avocados. Like you suggested. And I eat a diet pretty high in fiber also and I think that’s part of the reason I’m having trouble eating more.
-
@sardelsa maybe adding in healthy fats would help, I normally use that cooking spray. And pb2 instead of peanut butter. Do you keep your sugar intake below a certain level or no?
-
During my rides I have been good, the past two days I’ve had to rest because I’ve been pretty fatigued and yesterday I had some light headed ness. But after I ate I felt fine. Maybe I need to add some electrolytes.
-
I would hope that is the case.

Just sent one

@AnnPT77 do you think I’m at a normal weight and calorie intake level? It just feels weird eating so much food now.
-
@AnnPT77 thank you for this insight, I consider a binge when I start eating and I feel like I can’t stop. I have friends who always say things like “your to skinny” “you need to eat more” etc and I feel like it triggers that mindset for me but I always regret it afterwards. But once again it’s nobody’s fault but my own. I…

And I will watch the YouTube video thank you!
-
What should I do in regards to getting back to normal after my binges. Should I eat fairly low to reset or no.
-
Thank you both for the responses this means a lot. To answer your question I did log my binge, I do with all of them. Also when I set my weight and activity level it says 2700 calories to maintain my weight. I always felt like this was over estimated but idk
-
I don’t eat back exercise calories mainly because the fitness trackers are way off most of the time. when loosing I eat around 1800 - 2000 calories a day while being very active and I loose a good amount of weight. I want to get down to 140 maybe it’s gonna be hard to drop to that weight.
-
Wow I really appreciate that response, and I will do so and eat at 3000 calories and continue my energy output while tracking for a couple weeks and see how it goes.
-
Based on MFP when I set my goal to maintaining weight at 150 pounds with a “very active” setting it says I should consume 3000 calories. Is that normal? It’s hard to consider myself very active. Is 15000 steps a day considered very active even if it’s low intensity? Also for me weight trend the past few weeks I lost about…

I’ve always tracked but sometimes I eat later so my weight fluctuates a little bit. I would say that I’m loosing weight I weighed 147 two days ago. But on Mother’s Day my family and I celebrated and I consumed around 5 thousand calories, when I weighed the next day I was 150 so I probably gained a pound or something. But…
-
Thank you so much for the insight, I will do just that and hopefully see some great results. I really appreciate you taking the time to break this down for me, have a great day!
-
How much weight should I loose? Do you have an opinion on my caloric intake?
-
I just want to have 6 pack abs, that’s been the goal from the get go. I just got to focused on watching the scale numbers drop and I fell under the misconception that if you loose enough weight eventually you will have abs. As for history of eating disorders, I guess I was very restrictive when loosing my weight. But now I…
-
Hey @cmriverside I got my metabolic rate tested and I was not surprised that with the caloric restriction I put myself through my resting metabolic rate is 1270 calories. That number should be 1800 as that is the average for someone with my age height and weight. I am on a plan to slowly increase caloric intake with no…

Thank you so much for this post, I greatly appreciate it.

Yes they were concerned with my relationship with food, I never would go out to eat with them and I always had to track exactly what was going into my mouth. I stopped cooking with oils and all that stuff. Finally I just gave out. And hopefully my body image from my perspective gets better with time.
-
Thank you for the reply the support really helps. I’ve just come so far, my family says I look great and that I have abs but I can’t see it. It’s almost as if I see myself from the perspective of my start weight if that makes sense. I’m looking forward to my visit with a nutritionist.
-
Yeah I can see that. I will definitely consider contacting a nutritionist or some sort of professional to help me with some of these tendency’s that I’ve developed. It’s just hard when I get into the cycle of watching the scale number drop. The idea of gaining weight somewhat intimidates me as the fear of becoming…

well since I’ve been lifting it has gone up a little. I try to stay off the scale because I tend to try to restrict if I see the number fluctuate. My lifts have been getting stronger though. In addition to a leaner physique. So I’m not sure. Should I weigh more often?
