  • I am a 51F. I started making changes to my diet in July 2020 but did not get a scale. In December 2020 I got a scale and my weight was 76.9kg/169.1lbs on the 9th. I am 5ft 1in. I now average around 1600 calories/day over the week having lowered it from 1800 or so. I have become a lot more active than I was before. 7/11 -…
  • I am taking Ibrance which is a bit like low dose chemo. I also take a hormone blocking tablet daily and get hormone suppression implants monthly. I was told that the hormone tablets cause weight gain and accepted that until I realised the tablet can let it be hard to lose weight but just won't make me put on weight. Also I…
  • I weigh myself daily but take the average weight for the week so I don't stress out when my daily weight goes up.
  • Thanks. I don't seem to have the Weekly Digest. Do you have premium?
  • Thank you.
  • Where did you find that page?
  • How much weight are you aiming to lose?
  • I weigh myself everyday as well. However my weight fluctuates a lot and so I take the average for the week and compare that with the previous week's average. Are you male or female? How old are you? I am just wondering as you say you are eating 1600 calories and you are 6"0'. I am 51 and only 5"1' and am dieting on 1800…
  • That's what I was thinking.

  • At first I wanted to lose weight as quickly as possible but now I am finding this interesting, taking my time to get to a healthy weight. My weight isn't going up which is the best part and is lower than it was even before I increased my calories. Over the weeks of my weight not really changing, my body got smaller as my…

  • I am living in Cumbria.
  • I am 5"1' and 51. I weighed 170lbs at the start of December 2020. I dieted on around 1600 going down to 1400 calories for 10 weeks and lost 10lbs. I then did a diet break/reverse diet for 5 weeks and brought my calories up to 2100. My weight stayed constant for the first 3 weeks then went up to 161.5lbs. I had intended to…
  • @xxzenabxx Thank you for the encouragement. My intention was to bring calories up to 2500 and cut on 2000, however on days where I ate 2300 or so I was stuffed. I got lucky and even though I only spent 2 weeks at 2100 I am losing at around 2000 calories. I find this so amazing and am realizing how crazy cool our bodies are.
  • I am short and I do lots of cardio.
  • @nooshi713 Have you thought about or tried reverse dieting to increase your calories?
  • As I saw that my weight was going up I decided to lower my calories to between 1800 and 2000 last week. I ended up being just higher than that but I will gradually work my way down this week. I hope to keep in this range for 3 weeks and see what happens. I weigh myself everyday and the average weight has also shown the…

  • Pretty impressive to lose that % of body fat in that time period.

  • If I remember correctly, in one of Lyle's interviews he says the 5-10% off your original maintenance calories is to account for the fact that you've lost weight and thus your maintenance calories will be slightly lower now.
  • @Noreenmarie1234 Thank you so much for sharing this. :) I am feeling more energetic too. I still have some weight to lose but I am much more comfortable than I was when I was at my highest. I also have some health issues so figure that eating enough would benefit me there too. @thisvickyruns You are so right. Plus I love…
  • @thisvickyruns Good point. I meant my TDEE should be around 2500 as given by online calculators. At the moment I am not losing at 2200 but maintaining. I had hoped to get up to 2500 and cut at 2000 or so. However I am feeling pretty full most days but maybe I should see how I can increase calories without feeling so…
  • @elmusho1989 Me too! I just sorted out my settings and put my exercise in for today. @Emmapatterson1729 Thank you for posting this. I have totally changed my attitude to being overweight and learning to love my body. Your story will make sure I do this safely. Also a friend of mine just had her gall bladder removed so I am…
  • @BarbaraHelen2013 This method can be used to bring my calories up to my TDEE. My TDEE is around 2500 or so. You are right, I can't just increase my calories to say 5000 and expect to not put on weight but I am managing to bring it up, closer to my TDEE, without putting on weight. :) What happens is called metabolic…
  • @Kimmys_Big_50_2021 How is the diet going?
  • @kshama2001 I trust you have seen my replies.
  • @BarbaraHelen2013 I am trying to increase my metabolism by slowing increasing my calories. My body should adjust its metabolism to the amount of calories I take in. I am now eating 2100 calories and my average weekly weight has remained the same. This way I will be able to start dieting again at a higher number of calories…
  • What did you do in the end? Any updates?
  • Increased my average calories to 2136 this week. I intend to keep my calories around 2200 for the next 4 to 6 weeks and then cut calories to 1800-1900. Hopefully, I will then lose some weight on this amount of calories, instead of having to go back to the low level of 1400 that I was eating at the start of February. 7…
