Hi Bmeadows! Thank you for sharing your story here! I’m very, very impressed by how far you have come and how absolutely relatable your apprehension is around working out as the new person, being bigger than others. I applaud you for going anyway and am almost jealous of your positive experience (not truly, but almost, you…

Hey Annie, I feel the same way. Anything that isn’t absolutely necessary in person needs to wait. I have had pretty positive experiences with phone consults and will have to go get bloodwork done this week, but that’ll be the first time since last March and I’m hoping to stick it out until fully vaxxed. Best Bri

Hey Annie! I can absolutely relate to that recurring dream of yours. Mine is about not remembering where my current apartment is. Probably because I moved too many times and still don’t feel like “home”. Belonging is a big thing. I remember those dreams got less panicky for a while. They come and go. Hugs! Bri

Hi everyone!! I’m new here but hope to find more likeminded walkers, not the challenging type, but more the “I’ve got your back” type. I’m Bri, 44, female, battling some chronic illnesses that come with meds and those come w weight gain. Tomorrow I’m starting (again) on Saxenda and hope for the best. The lockdown has been…

Hi Elphie and Yrmom! I was wondering how you have decided to move forward since these last posts were written. I am in a very similar position and have done a fair bit of reading and tried out a crapload of OTC things. When weight gain related to medications comes into play, it’s not just about “calories in vs calories…

Yes I can confirm that Saxenda is (at least now) considered a “maintenance” medication under my insurance plan. So once the weight is managed, the medication still needs to be taken to maintain. After all, obesity is a chronic illness and just like you don’t stop taking your meds for heart disease because you feel better,…

I lost ~50 lbs over 9 months in 2015. But beware, obesity is a chronic illness. Unless you find another way to manage, stopping Saxenda will slowly bring the pounds back. I am starting out at a much higher weight than I was before and am now prepared to use Saxenda for years to come. There is a reason why insurers now…

According to the pharma website if you don’t take Saxenda for more than 3 days you should start titrate for up again over a few weeks from 0.6, 1.2, 1.8 to 2.4. Not start right out again where you stopped. But yes, the medication will take a few days to build up in your system, so you might not feel the full effect right…

I was on Saxenda for about 9 plus 3 months in 2014/2015. It worked really well even at a lower dose (1.8 mg). I stopped using it not because of side effects or anything awful like cancer, just ran out of funds since Saxenda was not covered by my insurance. I’m starting it again this week because coverage is now 85%. Also:…

Hi Precius! I did this in 2015, was on Liraglutide for about 3/4 of the year, had lost nicely and then things started to slow down. Maybe I wasn’t in it enough anymore. Who knows. I phased out, waited 3-4 weeks and then started again. I wouldn’t call it a kickstart, more a little shake up. Once you have lost a large amount…

Hi there! I just joined the group in anticipation of my med appointment on Monday. I have used Saxenda successfully in the past and hope to get a new Rx. How are you doing so far? I’m looking forward to some company on this journey. <3

Hey Morgan - let us know how you are faring if you like? I hope to get back on Saxenda next week, excited and a bit nervous. :#

Hi! I used Saxenda a couple years ago and experienced nausea every time I increased the dose. It’s not awful, just very slightly uncomfortable and helps regulating your appetite. In the end I didn’t titrate up all the way to 3 mg but stayed at 1.8 mg, to avoid more intense nausea. It worked well (I lost about 45 lbs) and…
