My mini-goal is to become more regular with my nutrition and exercise.

Yes, I notice that the MyFitnessPal app shows that I used more calories in the 30 minutes than the active calories show... So I will go by the active calories as the extra "gravy" of earned calories, no pun intended.

How's everyone's day going?
-
Yes. I do 30 minutes on the treadmill for the same effort, elevation, speed. The indoor walking one gives me a much lower estimate than the "other" exercise one. So I was curious.

I am day 26 I believe on not drinking. I've noticed more energy, positive feeling, sharper thinking, weight loss, more motivation... All good things.

To get in shape to go back to martial arts!

Keto strips to measure. I’ve just been doing the 16:8 IF, but I’m starting to think that that’s not long enough. I know my carbs have been relatively high though I’m under my calorie goal. Protein? No clue off the top of my head. Fat is higher than I want it to be.

Should I just stay under 50 g carbs? Or even more strict? Or should I fast longer like 18-24 hrs?

I am 332. But I was 380. So I am happy to have lost 48 lbs. But, yes, I was lazy. Then I took out pictures of the "old me" and when I was thin and practicing martial arts. I was happy then. I could see it. I wanted that again. So I talked to my doctor, got a nutritionist, got on Ozempic (to be honest) and started walking.…

Even low carb options, like bacon or sausage or what not, have high sodium when your intentions are good. lol

All your comments are very inspiring and informative! Due to the nature of my work schedule, I find myself doing IF without trying. I'll eat and go to bed around 8:30 or 8 and get up at 7 am and work straight until 4 pm. THEN I will have my first meal of the day. I've been seeing pounds drop some. But, I have book called…

I have a lot of work-related (mostly) and generalized anxiety too. I think the best approach I've taken is to journal. Write down what is going through your mind when you feel the emotion and realize that thoughts lead to feelings that lead to behavior. If you carry that journal with you, it can be very beneficial. Then,…

I know, it's strange! I don't think I'll take it because my (if) ADHD would be barely noticeable anyway. But I like that it is said to treat Binge Eating Disorder.

Great place to be! Welcome.

My favorite bar and the comfort of the social environment and the refreshments! It's an older pub with a wooden bar. Lots of good people. Been coming there for over 20 years.

It boosts your self-confidence, especially around dating and/or making new friends. I've been through this road before and when I successfully lost "all" my weight I needed to lose, it changed my social life immensely.

I wonder about like low carb options. (On occasion.) Like vodka, etc.

I believe I need a new scale. lol Because the one at the doctor's that has the weights on it that you slide usually weighs me in a few lbs less than my home scale. Know any good scales?

I am on .5 mg and have lost 44 lbs. Been on it for a few months. BUT I'm also exercising where I didn't before.

To get back to martial arts at 50.

I do 16:8, and that's tough for me! lol But great job!

I stopped weight training legs and stick to cardio 30 minutes a day and stretching 20 minutes at least a day. I find that the more muscle my legs get the more tight.
-
These are very helpful, thank you! I always feel good after working out anyway, so might as well maintain some muscle too!
-
Thank you. I do enjoy lifting. So it's sticking. :)

I think IF is a good way to burn fat.
-
Thank you for all your helpful information and comments!

Ive read that alcohol can stop fat burning for 12-36 hours?

For me, here comes 50! Lol
