Not at all. Sometimes, it even helps me meal plan for the upcoming days! I actually get excited.

Hi and welcome!!

Hi! Welcome! My suggestion is to focus on recipes that are based off your goal. Don’t weigh yourself daily… it causes frustration. Instead, focus on a weekly weigh-in and be consistent on the day. Lower your calorie goal slowly.. don’t go nuts right away!

Hi! It takes time. How long have you been using MFP? Maybe your calorie count is too low right from the start.

At 23 (6ft) I weighed 125lb. Within a year, I had gained almost 60 lbs. Fast forward to 30, I had peaked at 235. Now, at 36, I started my weight loss when I was at 223. Based off all of the graphs, charts and calculators I need to be back down to 150 to be considered “healthy”. I’m at 190 now and figured the most I want is…

It’s hard, however rewarding. I’ve been at this for 3 months and feel so much better! 30lbs down, about 10 more to go.

Hello!!

Hey John! I’m in your boat, starting at 223 and about 3 months later 192. I let MFP suggest my daily goal, which it set to be about 2100. I wanted to be a little more aggressive, so I have changed it monthly to 2000, 1900 and now 1800. I also weightlift 3 days a week. With that said, it’s all up to you and your comfort…

Hi!! Hope all is well and great luck to you!!

Yes, portion control!! What I’ve found very helpful and motivating is setting a weekly goal on where you want your weight to land. Focus on that and don’t cheat on yourself. Each week, you’ll thank yourself and your willpower.

I’ve been using MFP since May and I’m down 30lbs. This app has been amazing at helping me track my calorie count as well as my macros for my weightlifting. I started out looking to lose 2lbs a week and have slowly been lowering my calorie goal to continue hitting my ultimate goal. I’ll stand by it 100%!! You got this too!!
