I am not particularly inspired this month. I will hit my initial goal of losing 15KG from 98.6KG to 83.6KG in 100 days (8 Oct). I thought I could do more but I have more or less hit a plateau and have not shifted much in September (<2KG drop). Tracking wise, I will ease up. I just engaged a pretty high end PT and into 3rdβ¦

So I am missing my Sep 30 goal. I knew this was going to be tough because there'd be a week of binging and another week to recover from the binging. That's 2 weeks of no progress. I am telling myself it's a small blip in the grand scheme of things and that I am back on the path anyway. I did an Inbody scan but this machineβ¦

@dannytrees1, got myself a Samsung watch 7, which somehow gives a rough gauge to your body fat. I kinda bought it just for that purpose on a whim when I was travelling and saw it in the mall.

Gonna record daily for next few days for accountability. Need to recover from the binging. I don't usually don't record extreme fluctuations as it can be due to water weight and simply not having enough mass of food or too much food at any given point in time. I only record what I weigh at a specific time in the morning,β¦

@HappyDonkey75, I am sorry for your loss. With regards to parents, accord them the understanding that they accorded you when you were a child to them. I don't have a paid nutrition coach, but I know a nutritionist who I sponge free advice from. After every discussion we have on nutrition, the parting shot is always down toβ¦

Random observation on when people start to notice your weight loss and actually open their mouth to say something. For people who see you infrequently, like 2-3 times a year: 10% weight loss For colleagues, people you work with and see weekly: 11-14% weight loss For extended family who sees you every week: 15-19% weightβ¦

A handful of new joiners and I believe this is the key to making this group work. The more support we rally here and the more people we feel we are accountable to, the better this is going to work. I've thought about it. My Sept goals shall be: Drop from 86.5KG/191LB to 82.3KG/181LB Drop from 23.2% body fat to 19.4% body fat. That's dropping 4.2KG / 9.3LB of weight. I am accounting for a bit of drop in muscle mass if I am being aggressive in calorie cutting. This means I need to create a 32,340 calorie deficit, overβ¦

I might have been too aggressive in my weight loss and am thinking of slowing it down just a little. I wanted to hit 183lbs by end Sept, which means I am 10 lbs away from last weigh in. Why I was thinking of slowing down? Because the skin is loose and it's not contracting fast enough. Sure I may look better in clothes butβ¦

I agree that weight is the easiest metric to track and that should be the one single metric that helps keep us on track on a day to day basis. @HappyDonkey75 hang in there. It's not easy having to deal with an unwell family member. Incidentally, my dad just went for a 12 hour op 2 days ago. I am feeling guilty going to the gym while he's recovering but I am sure there's no correlation between me spending time on myself and him recovering well.

First half of August was slow in terms of loss. I had a trip which I have been using as an excuse for a few posts now. I lose 4 lbs in 19 days and then suddenly lost another 4 lbs in 4 days. I can't credit it to much else except that I am doing cardio on the elliptical machine for a bit longer but it shouldn't be able toβ¦

Just to be clear, when I say vanity, I was referring to the body fat %, not the weight. I agree that weight is the most accessible form of tracking which is fairly accurate as long as it's always on the same scale. And even on a different scale, it's seldom differs too much.

I notice that everything in this thread is about weight. There's little to no mention of Body Fat %. Is that something for the vanity folks? I actually think that's a healthier metric to track than just body weight. To be clear, I am tracking body weight but I have a higher degree of interest in my Body Fat %. Just thatβ¦

Made it through a 3 day trip and thankfully didn't derail but diet was higher on carbs and was tired most days from commuting and walking without a car. Still made it to the gym over 2 days and thanking myself for sticking to it even if it was tough. Hoping to shed the 0.7KG to get it down to target weight on 19 Aug (Dayβ¦

5 months ago, my son was in the same decisioning process. He wanted a school that was 1.5 hours away by public transport. He was dead set on it until I made him take public transport to the school while I drove there to meet him. Before he stepped out of the house, he decided to pick another school 30 mins away.

@kellyswimmer, really get her to think about the 4 hours she'll have to spend daily. Some people make 6 figure income a year working 8 hours a day. Time is money.

Both of us are trying to lose 42 pounds. It's ambitious but even if I miss it, I am going to let myself off if my Dexa scan at end Oct shows 18% BF. I am 6' tall.
