Ok, I flirted with 210 yesterday (saw 210.9 flash twice on the scale, but couldn't bring myself to use that). Today I'm solidly there again. That was 12 days of cycle related BS and I'm so over this. But I've been tracking this using weightgrapher and it helped me see I'm not nuts. This is my pattern at this age right now.
@Jo_Casey42 Congrats on joining the gym! You've got this!
I'm running late for meetings, but I hope you all have a great Wednesday!0 -

@HappyDonkey75 Thank for your workout details as well. I was doing a lot more lifting until I gained a shoulder/bicep injury. Now .... I'm trying to NOT lose my gains, but heal my shoulder. For a while I wasn't even able to lift a 3# weight. So, the bodyweight and cardio has been my go to as I slowly introduce weight again.2

James Clear the author famously said
“Your trajectory is far more important than where you currently are.”
It's important we realise this.
It's not about where we are, it’s about where we are going.
Are we inching closer to our goals? If so, that’s what’s important.
Another author called Carol Dweck said famously.
“becoming is better than being.”
So I suppose the question for you today is this:
Are you becoming the person you want to be?
If not, do you want to get closer?
You’re either inching closer or getting further.

@canadamarie - we are in the same loop. I was plateaued for a month at the 200 # weight.. now I am thinking I might be plateaued again at this 189 #.. I listened to a video by Jillian Micheals about weight plateau that really help set my mind at ease. Its really just our bodies adjusting and all part of the process. There are a few things we can do to help that along but basically it can last up to a couple months sometimes, especially in times of big drops.. and its a waiting game.

I finally fixed my bike! The replacement part has not arrived but I found a way to fix it myself. As someone who has been commuting by bike all seasons for over 20 years, it’s been a big loss being without it for almost a month. My commute is on a nature trail in a forest so you can imagine how much I missed it. Heading out shortly.

@canadamarie - way to go on the bike fix. Your commute sounds lovely. I can totally understand missing that. I also have the hormone thing to deal with. Thank you menopause, or rather perimenopause according to my doctor.
@ManifestingToday - Nice work on the drop . What have you been doing differently ? Whatever it is , seems to be working

Last night one of the nephews came over so there was wine and pizza. I had a tiny slice of pizza and a glass of wine but then stepped away and ate my pre prepped healthy meal while everyone was socializing on the patio. I felt a little foolish but then came to my senses. This is my life my body, my health. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.. One week of having my parents here and its still in honeymoon phase. They mentioned last night they would like to stay through October or November. Um.. What??? This might be a bigger conversation I really didn't want to have. We will see how it plays out. My mom is not liking certain things. She wanted us to move out some additional furniture so she can have her lift recliner brought in . We already have to move the futon out of the spare room so they could have a bed brought in. I put my foot down on the recliner, we have no room ! She isn't one to take no for an answer so we will see if that conversation resurfaces.

I notice that everything in this thread is about weight. There's little to no mention of Body Fat %. Is that something for the vanity folks? I actually think that's a healthier metric to track than just body weight. To be clear, I am tracking body weight but I have a higher degree of interest in my Body Fat %. Just that the scale at home is completely unreliable and I am just going to have to live with Dexa scans 6 months apart with inbody scans in between as a cheaper alternative.0

I would say similar to what you're describing, it's difficult for people to access accurate equipment to track body %. Most people seem to use weight as a metric to keep on track, however many people in their updates will also talk about non-scale successes, which are another way to measure progress. I wouldn't dilute the measurement to just "vanity", moreso just the most accessible form of tracking.0 -
Just to be clear, when I say vanity, I was referring to the body fat %, not the weight. I agree that weight is the most accessible form of tracking which is fairly accurate as long as it's always on the same scale. And even on a different scale, it's seldom differs too much.1

First half of August was slow in terms of loss. I had a trip which I have been using as an excuse for a few posts now. I lose 4 lbs in 19 days and then suddenly lost another 4 lbs in 4 days. I can't credit it to much else except that I am doing cardio on the elliptical machine for a bit longer but it shouldn't be able to explain the rapid loss of almost 2KG in 4 days. Could be losing water weight. Could be loss that was overdue. Either way, happy thing. Hoping to keep it at 87.X KG till end of the month which means I have reached my original end August goal already.
WHAT HAPPENED IN JULY- Start 1st July - 98.6KG / 217LB
- End 31st July - 91.5KG / 201LB
- July - Month 1 loss = 7.1KG / 16LB
WHAT I WANT IN AUGUST- August - Month 2 target loss = 3.8KG / 8.4LB, down to 87.7KG/193LB according to original plan
- Stretch Target to lose 4.5KG / 10LB, down to 87KG/192LB
- Ultra Stretch Target to lose 5.4KG / 12LB, down to 86.1KG/190LB
AUGUST WEIGH-IN- Aug 1 - 91.55 KG / 201.4 LB
- Aug 7 - 90.7 KG / 199.5 LB
- Aug 16 - 90.0 KG / 198.4 LB
- Aug 19 - 89.45 KG / 197.2 LB
- Aug 23 - 87.8 KG / 193.6 LB
100-DAY PROGRAM MINI GOALS- July 10 - 96.4KG / 212LB (Day 10) <- TARGET HIT

I’m also seeing that the scale isn’t telling the whole story.
Some days it’s up, some days down.
But one thing for sure I believe our weighing in every day is a good thing, it’s giving us a ballpark idea what’s happening.
And the other “None Scale Victories
Is important to look at as well (NSV)
My ball cap got loose, had to adjust it.
My belt has moved one notch
All my clothes are fitting me right again
And I have a little more energy.
This all has happened since July 1st
Happy Friday all stay safe 🌴💪2 -

August Goal: Get as close to 200 as possible | Exercising 6 days a week
Previous Info:Hi, I'm a 50+ yo married female, 5'6", and I’m making changes to get out of the Obese category, to look good in my clothing, and to have confidence in public again. I'm not making this a race - I'm doing this at my pace. This year has given me a few challenges - but I'm still working toward weight loss goals. ✨

Aug 23:
@canadamarie Congrats on finding a fix for the bike! I hope you had a great ride, and can now add this back into your "workout" schedule; that's going to make a huge difference I'm sure!
@HappyDonkey75 Congrats with sticking to your meal routine! And no, it doesn't matter what others think - you do what you need to for you. As for the parents, again, you don't need to respond/provide info, but if you have your own family (husband and/or husb and kids), this isn't just impacting you, this impacts everyone in your household. Your guests seem to be completely oblivious to the impact this is having in all areas of your life. I'm sorry, I know this is very difficult to navigate, and all I can do is send good energy and hopes that they can empathize when you're explaining to them what does/doesn't work. Oh, and I'm really just being strict with meals -- 2 meals, 1 shake, incrementally increasing exercise. I've been hungry, but trying to keep myself in my office. You're doing great, and you're going to get through that plateau. You've got this.
@jo_casey42 Congrats on the loss, so happy for you! Excited to see your progress as you keep going!
@dannytrees1 You're doing so good, and I'm so happy to see all the NSVs that you're having. Really excited for you!
@Enber74 Congrats on reaching your original end of August goal early —- That's awesome! It’s impressive to see how your persistence, especially with your cardio, is paying off.
In regards to your question about tracking other metrics, I appreciate your focus on body fat percentage as a key metric for your health goals—especially with your triathlon training, it makes sense that you’d track that closely. While this thread mainly focuses on weight as a simple and accessible way for everyone to track progress and stay motivated, it’s always great to hear different approaches and what works for others. Your methods may motivate others to begin tracking different metrics down the road, too. Please know you're always welcome to share whatever is working for you. If someone is primarily focused on tracking weight, they might not get into those details as much, but we're all still here to support you and your journey.
@quolwy, @jennigerding19, and everyone else that swings by today, I hope you have an amazing Friday and weekend!3 -

Need to get out in the garden today, wind yesterday has slowly destroyed the frame the runner beans are growing up against and it is collapsing on itself. A key pole has snapped so I don’t think it’s salvageable and although there aren’t many beans left I was hoping to leave the last of them to fatten up to provide beans for next years sowing. Need to see I can salvage.

8/24-188.6- took yesterday off from working out. Just wasn't feeling it. will probably do a weighted walk session on the treadmill today and some core work. We had a big storm last night and lost a big tree which took out part of our fencing and a hit an outbuilding on the farm. Luckily no animals were injured but it was hurricane force winds. Pretty scarey. Tons of people with out power last night and into today.
