    Menopause rant:
    I'm so over Menopause and all the screwed up cycles it delivers. 5 days into a non-cycle cycle. Bloat/cramps/exhaustion goes on for 10 days only to start up 21-22 days later. It's lunacy. .

    @HappyDonkey75 I sympathize with the full day ahead on 3+ hrs sleep. Is this a known side effect from the meds?

    @ManifestingToday -I have been reading a bit more and apparently some people do struggle with sleep on the meds. I already struggle with sleep in general so it may be adding to that. I am figuring out ways to manage it with the help of the combination of some natural supplements. Last night was a glorious 9.5 hrs of sleep ! I tend to function best with 8-9 hrs which rarely happens, I usually only get about 6-7 and very little REM sleep. My brain does not like to shut off.

    @dannytrees1 - this time of year can be hard with all the social gatherings and food temptations. Good on you to stick with the plan. I also want to be at the similar goal weight as you , i'd like to hit below 190 and stay there . We got this!

    **** managed to take a 3.5 mile walk and did a few SIT cycles of a jog to spike my heart rate for 1 minute intervals. It was a a struggle with how sore I was but I thought it might help flush some built up lactic acid out. I did feel less sore afterwards and better today /

    ***got 9.5 hours of sleep last night and really needed that since the night before I only got 3.5- I have read about the correlation between sleep and weight loss , especially for women in the perimenopause/menopause point in their lives. I am not a good sleeper so trying to work on that bedtime routine to wind down every night.

    I'll be keeping the 10:14 intermitent fasting, and I'm going to commit to doing daily yoga. I'll need to find a time during the day or the evening, but it is required. I'll take it one day at a time, tracking everything in the bullet journal.

    Seem to be stuck around the 54kg mark, so I’m officially calling plateau for now. Just need to keep on keeping on. Weights today was fine. Dentist not so fine – have abscess which explains the toothache for the past week or so. Antibiotics for next week followed by root canal and then re-crown. Yay. Probably explains the tiredness too, possibly the migraines? Pain is not too bad considering and bearable at night with painkillers.

    I got my workout in early since my husband had early meetings today. It was nice to get it done, but I miss doing it at night, and couldn't do it this evening due to work. When I got to 170 about 10 years ago, I was walking twice a day and doing yoga -- it was a good 4 miles a day, and a lot of working off calories, but I just can't sustain that right now. Maybe I can work up to it though.

    @dannytrees1, @canadamarie, and all of you making huge strides -- I'm so happy for you! You're doing great!

    @SofaKween I hope you will be feeling better much soon! Dental issues can really knock you down, so yes that could have been what had you feeling off/migraines. Wishing you the best and that this will all be behind you soon. <3

    @HappyDonkey75 I struggle with sleep too. I hope the supplements help. Something that really helped shift it for me: I used to take a non-drowsy 24-hr allergy med in the morning. My ENT had me switch to one that makes you sleepy, but take it at night before bed. So I'm still getting the benefit of the 24 hr medicine, but the bonus of feeling sleepier at night. It has definitely helped me. I hope you find a combo that works.

    Tired today. Just caught my arm in a hot oven taking the lid off my baking sourdough. Now chilling with my arm wrapped in a clean cloth containing the frozen prawns I need to defrost for dinner. There is the smallest of red lines. Taken my mind off the dull toothache, so silver linings. Not sure whether to climb today or not. See how I feel when I get there.

    I subscribe to random newsletters. I loved this one and thought I would share it.

    When I’m in my best shape this is what I cherish from being on top of things:
    - eating out and not worrying about what I’ve ordered
    - wearing a white tshirt which for years I’ve been too self conscious to do
    - feeling good about myself
    - waking up, brushing my teeth and being proud of how I look
    - laying in bed at night, knowing I made that day my b*tch, not just from a calorie perspective, but as far as work rate, ethic, attitude, balance and pushing myself as hard as I know I can

    What I need you do to from this email is actually write out somewhere, maybe a note section on your phone what 5 things success looks like to you.

    This is important.

    Across all my books I’ve written I’ve stated you need to “write it down to make it real”.

    So, go write it down.

    Made it through a 3 day trip and thankfully didn't derail but diet was higher on carbs and was tired most days from commuting and walking without a car. Still made it to the gym over 2 days and thanking myself for sticking to it even if it was tough. Hoping to shed the 0.7KG to get it down to target weight on 19 Aug (Day 50). But it's over the weekend so it might be challenging. Especially since I am down with a viral infection and likely to skip a gym session today.

    @dannytrees1, our goals are VERY similar and weight loss goals are close to identical with my start weight 5LB more than yours and UGW 5 pounds more too. Stalking/Shadow mode on!

    What sort of time frame are you giving yourself to get to UGW? I have a 120 day period to hit UGW starting 1 July 2024. Both of us are trying to lose 42 pounds. It's ambitious but even if I miss it, I am going to let myself off if my Dexa scan at end Oct shows 18% BF. I am 6' tall.

    Ideally, my UGW composition should look like this:

    Weight : 79.5KG / 175LB
    Fat loss: -19.1KG / 42LB
    Muscle loss: 0
    Total weight loss: 19.1KG / 42LB
    Body Fat % : 16.2%

    The body fat % can only be achieved if my weight loss if the 19.1KG loss is purely fats and not losing muscle. But I know I might be losing muscle mass due to strict calorie restrictions. I am consistently missing protein goals day to day.

    Away from home this weekend, so no weighing until Tuesday.

    Weights this morning was bench press and much more enjoyable as I’m able to lift the same weights as a couple of the others which means we can work together. With deadlift and back squats I’m lifting significantly less so I have to lift on my own.

    There's a slogan just above the weights in the gym - "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you". I really like this as a motivational slogan - it doesn't push me to succeed in anything so it doesn't lead to any failure. Going to make myself a bangle and stamp it on the inside so I can wear it as a reminder!

    Just when I thought September would be slipping into a quieter time , My parents have decided to come stay with me , for a MONTH OR MORE! So in their typical way of communicating... they informed me (didn't ask) that they would be coming to stay. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to see them but they have no where else to go and wanted a break from the AZ heat. They are elderly and the problem is that my mother is quite disabled and needs things set up a certain way and my home is not set up for those accommodations. I work from home and this is going to be so difficult. Not to mention its going to increase and complicate my meal planning.. Sorry for the rant, feeling pretty stressed about it all.

    @Ember74 The long and short of it is losing 10 a month.
    So October 31 on Halloween… I’m dressing up as a skinny skeleton 🤠at 170 pounds.
    Then plan to maintain that 170.
    I’m feeling great, and having fun with this mission.
