    The newsletter I receive ...

Weight and Fat are often interchangeable, people say I want to lose weight but they mean fat.
Just remember that your weight is just your relationship to gravity.
It's worth remembering that there are a lot of fluctuations day to day that aren’t to do with your fat mass.

Did you know 1 litre of water weighs 1kg?
So a sweaty workout you will lose weight.
    Rehydrating you will gain weight.

    Weight isn’t everything
Don’t lose your mind because you sweat more or less, or even having more salt than usual -
    IT WILL impact your weight!

The 2nd most important thing you can take from this email:
Something doesn’t have to be PERFECT to work, it just needs to work.

    That’s what we want.
    Progress, not perfect.

@SherryRueter - yes that is so true. Its a rough go for sure. Thank you for the kind words. Can I ask what you use for your leg workout? I need to change mine up a bit and looking for a new plan.
My hubby and I never had children (just animals) and we are used to having our own schedule, just the two of us. At the risk of sounding selfish I have a routine and its hard to have that all going to change. That being said we will figure it out one way or the other.

    AUGUST
    Aug1-4- vacay
    8-5- 194.7 (gained over vacation)
    8-6-195
    8/9-191.4
    8/10- endurance ride
    8/11- DNW
    8/12-195.1- Shot #6 3.5 mg
    8/13- 193.5
    8/14- 190.9
    8/15- 189.9

    8/17-189.6
    8/18-188.3
** went on a 3.5 mile hike for my "rest day" workout.
    8/19-189

My workout got a bit hijacked by work today. I anticipated splitting into two shorter workouts . I got the first one done and planned to do my other one this afternoon but then I needed to deal with a farm thing , (one of the animals needed a bit of extra medical attention for an injury that took longer than anticipate) and by then it was time to start getting dinner going and I lost my motivation.
I guess I will try again tomorrow.

Than loosing 1 pound of fat .

@SherryRueter - yes that is so true. Its a rough go for sure. Thank you for the kind words. Can I ask what you use for your leg workout? I need to change mine up a bit and looking for a new plan.

    @HappyDonkey75

I do Weights/Cardio/Weights/Cardio/Weights/Cardio (6 day schedule. Basically every other day Weights).

I have been a consumer of Beachbody (BODi now) since 2009 - P90X & Tony Horton, then Body Beast and Sagi Kalev, next LIIFTMORE and Joel Freeman, lastly - my main cardio squeeze has been Shaun T and insanity .

Presently injured in march my shoulder, further injured my bicep in Early june. Working on rehab. doing Phys. therapy moves 2x a day.

I found a youtube account "Millionaire HOY" and I have been doing his workouts for about 3 weeks now (just the cardio's). presently doing the SAVAGE. I add that onto my Liftmore Workouts (which is 4 days a week of strength training). I also have done and enjoy Youtube: Caroline Girvan.

My best results came from eating 5-7 servings veggies/Fruit category. Limiting meat/dairy/grains/oil.
the more unprocessed I eat, the more whole foods I enjoy, the better my body feels - and most of the time it causes weight loss. Likewise, the more ultra processed foods I eat, the less good I feel, and it causes weight gain.

    my leg day was:
    3 sets 12 reps
    1. Standard Squat, using one db
    2. R/L Single leg dead lift, using one db. 12reps per leg

    3. R/L Bulgarian Lunge, assisted (hand on chair), 1 db .
    4. Hip thrust, back on bench. 1 db.

    5. Standing band just above knee - 45sec leg raise to side (right side)
    6. Standing band just above knee - 45sec leg raise to back (right side)
    7. Standing band just above knee - 45sec leg raise to side (left side)
    8. Standing band just above knee - 45sec leg raise to back (Left side)

Continue with Millionaire Hoy 25min SAVAGE workout: Bodyweight legs

@Jo_Casey42 Yay on joining a gym. I recommend celebrating, yes…. But maybe with a workout or a new pre-workout drink 😊
@manifestingToday I feel like I am making progress on my goals! How often do you get to visit your parents?
@Agefyter18 Welcome! I look forward to seeing your daily posts.
@happydonkey75 getting in a workout after a full day is SO hard! First thing in the morning is a lot easier for me to do.

    Tuesday: Cardio 45mins. 4236 steps.
    I weigh myself only 1x/month.

    my story:
I used to weigh myself 6x a day and depending on the number, I could allow myself to eat food. I used to play the tracking every calorie game but, a year ago I realized it was just too much for me to do mentally. It was then that I joined a food freedom group on FB and put the scale away for 3 months. To my amazement, I didn't gain any weight and I had allowed myself to have foods I would normally not have.

I no longer did extreme overeating followed by not eating. and, for the first time in a long time, I didn't focus on food all day long. I took walks because I wanted to enjoy the sunshine. I ate a bowl of fruit because it sounded good. Somehow, cookies and pastries still find their way into my mouth. But I'm figuring out how I feel when I am hungry vs. bored.

In May 2023 I started this journey and as of today, I am down 6#. That's a 1/2# less than July's weight.

I honestly am a small person at this point. I'm not looking for 20# to lose. I lost MOST of my weight in 2001, with 70# - all thru eating more veggies/fruits. I would "Strive for 5" or "Get in 7".

    Todays words of wisdom.....
On this weight loss journey, it's not a competition to see how long you can workout. It's more about how healthy can you feed your body. The healthier you feed it, the better you feel inside your body. The heathier you feel inside, the better you are to sleep and move throughout your day. The weight will come off naturally.

@SherryRueter - thanks for all the details. My leg workout is very similar to yours, but I do a few more exercises , alternating between days. I have done alot of those Beachbody workouts over the years. I still default to P90x for upper body . (shoulders/bi's/tri's) Tony Horton is very motivating. Sean T-never liked him but spent a year using his Insanity videos.. its alot more jumping and bouncing than I can manage anymore with my knee. I used to do it in my 30's and I never liked him then but loved the 25 minutes of HIT. He makes me want to throw something at the screen.. :)

My workout routine has cut out alot of cardio given my age and the menopause thing and focusing on strength and working towards heavier lifting. I am getting better results with heavier lifting and I enjoy it more than never ending cardio. Its no more than 45 minutes each day but generally goes something like this..

Mondays- Legs, Tuesday 20 minutes cardio and then a 20 minute HIT and Core /hip stability excercises , Wednesdays Full body, Thursday's off, Fridays is either upper body or another HIT day. Saturday is a just do something active ,low intensity and stretch.

@HappyDonkey75 Thank for your workout details as well. I was doing a lot more lifting until I gained a shoulder/bicep injury. Now .... I'm trying to NOT lose my gains, but heal my shoulder. For a while I wasn't even able to lift a 3# weight. So, the bodyweight and cardio has been my go to as I slowly introduce weight again.

James Clear the author famously said
β€œYour trajectory is far more important than where you currently are.”

    It's important we realise this.
It's not about where we are, it’s about where we are going.

Are we inching closer to our goals? If so, that’s what’s important.

Another author called Carol Dweck said famously.
    β€œbecoming is better than being.”

So I suppose the question for you today is this:
Are you becoming the person you want to be?
If not, do you want to get closer?

You’re either inching closer or getting further.

@canadamarie - we are in the same loop. I was plateaued for a month at the 200 # weight.. now I am thinking I might be plateaued again at this 189 #.. I listened to a video by Jillian Micheals about weight plateau that really help set my mind at ease. Its really just our bodies adjusting and all part of the process. There are a few things we can do to help that along but basically it can last up to a couple months sometimes, especially in times of big drops.. and its a waiting game.
