Aug 8 196 Iβm ok with this number. Had friends down for the weekend and now Tom. Been working out everyday and knowing Iβll want junk for supper I have been keeping lunch low calorie.

I am not sure I believe the scale today..Nutrition from yesterday was a bit of a train wreck.. I don't know what happened. i wanted comfort food for lunch( it was cold and rainy) which translated to a grilled cheese and left over roasted broccoli . I thought I would get plenty of protein for an afternoon protein shake but that never happened and then I thought I would get ALOT more protein in beef barley soup I made but it was alot lower than I thought, only aboug 12 gm . At the end of the day I only ended up with 70 g of protein and I target 113 g..so way off.
think I need to do more protein shakes (but I was getting so sick of them I stopped) in between meals because I don't do well otherwise. if I eat enough food to get enough protein I am too stuffed to eat a decent dinner.
Generally if I don't hit my protein and carb macros I don't drop consistently so tomorrow and the next day will give me a better picture if I acutally did hit my goal..
I go for my third and final knee injection today. I have noticed the second one did help bring quite a bit of swelling down and I want to say it seems to be tolerating more and more squats and lunges with less angriness after so I am hopeful this is the answer!

I had forgotten how bad the pain can be after root canal surgery, slept atrociously. Suffice to say I am feeling very sorry for myself today, wallowing in a misery bubble. Cancelled my weights session as I canβt eat properly. Hopefully another 24 hours and the worst will be over.

@HappyDonkey75 Sometimes indulging in a food you don't regularly eat can jumpstart the metabolism. Even if the scale swings the other way tomorrow, take it for what it is, the weight at that time. And I'm glad to hear the shots have really helped!1 -

Yesterday I took a half day off to travel to my ortho to get my final Synvisc shot for me knee. Doc says I should know within a month if it's going to work but I feel like it already has been? maybe just in my head but it seems to be less achy after workouts than it was a month ago.. Fingers crossed.
Looking forward to a long weekend. We were supposed to have company but that might not happen afterall. Should know today . I won't be sad if they don't make it. I need some time to just work on home projects for the fall. My dad is going in for surgery in a few weeks, (maybe sooner ) for a partial nephrectomy . I have to make travel plans for that as soon as we get a firm travel date.

Scales have taken pity on my misery. Sleep is still illusive but have a dentist appointment booked for tomorrow morning so will see what they say. Am going to alternate pain meds to today rather than take all at once as I think this will help with pain management. Planning on doing nothing except a lazy day, eating very soft food that needs no chewing, and try to doze if I can. Feeling optimistic.

Drop in the scales is purely temporary. Am managing to eat very soft food but appetite is low so focus is on calorie rich foods whilst the antibiotics work their magic. I did manage to sleep last night, and pain meds seem to work much more quickly so everything going in the right direction.
Goal for September is going to keep weight between 53 β 54kg.3 -

Well I expected to lose more weight than I did..but I have realized itβs a bit of a roller coaster ride.
A little misbehaving on a weekend and throw things right out of whack with meβ¦ so Iβm happy with the results and September Iβm not going to expect as much
So my new goal for September is
To lose Just 3 pounds that will make me happy .
It be a total of 20 pounds in 3 months.. 2 bags of potatoes that I wonβt be carrying around with me all day.

I've thought about it. My Sept goals shall be:
Drop from 86.5KG/191LB to 82.3KG/181LB
Drop from 23.2% body fat to 19.4% body fat.
That's dropping 4.2KG / 9.3LB of weight. I am accounting for a bit of drop in muscle mass if I am being aggressive in calorie cutting. This means I need to create a 32,340 calorie deficit, over 30 days. I have a TDEE of about 2,200 calories, assuming I don't exercise. Weekly, I need to create a calorie deficit of 7,546 calories. I will be eating about 1,600 calories a day. Without exercise, I will have a deficit of 600 calories daily, or 4,200 calories a week. I need 3,346 calories of activity a week, which averages out to 478 calories a day in exercise. Very hard but I am going to try.2 -

August was good. Things I learned:
Dropping calorie limit by 100 was effective so I think 1200 is a good number for consistent weight loss without being unsustainably strict. This gives me 2lbs loss per month. Can i lose faster? Maybe, maybe not. I had some hunger but planning food intake will help with that. Increasing my calorie limit for 3 days when my hormones are at their worst is a good trick for giving myself grace without letting things get totally out of control.

August was a really good month for me. I joined a gym and have gone 4x/week consistently, tracked consistently everyday, didn't have fast food, increased my water intake. Just overall feeling really good. I started listening to audiobooks and podcasts about health and fitness and it is really motivating me. I even joined Masterclass and am taking some classes on home cooking, habit creation and fitness. Loving the journey! Feeling great.3 -

August was pretty good, on average I saw about 7.5 lb loss, just a few ounces over my goal but I will take it. I had an adult beverage last night and enjoyed some Lily's chocolate. Might have made the difference in the scale. Overall for August, I have gained strength and moving up in my dumbell weights. My tolerance to strength training is improving( I am much less of a cripple in the recovery period!)
I learned that I really need to dial in the protein and carbs so I actually meet them and the weight loss becomes more consistent when those are consistent.
September goals ? I think I will shoot for a 5lbs loss but I sure would love to get below that 180 number! At the same time I am currently at a weight I haven't seen in a few years so I am still happy about the progress.

- Healthy habits are coming more naturally now, rather than being a battle
- Giving myself grace when the day doesn't go as planned, and continuing to make healthy choices afterwards rather than having an "all or nothing" mindset1
