when i first started trying to eat healthier and lose weight I had approx. 100 pounds to lose. I have lost nearly 50 at this point so I still have 50 to go!

I have HBP too. Throw away the salt shaker in your house. I look for lower sodium items when I shop. They make a 30% less sodium chili powder, broths for soups, canned veggies (if you like them, I prefer fresh veggies), chips (they are the devil but they have less sodium) and many other items. I do have to admit, it takes…

I really like the jello sugar free chocolate fudge pudding. I make it with skim milk and it is amazing! I also really like the Slimfast peanut butter crunch bars to, they taste just like a butterfinger!

If you want to be healthy and you want to change, you are the only one that can make it happen. I made excuses for myself for years. One diet after another. This time I am doing it for me, I decided I am worth it, I am the only one that can make it happen and I am the reason for the prior fails. I'm not saying it's easy by…

I had mine removed and did everything I was not supposed to do within 24 hours. I would say soup would be safe, I was eating solid foods by then. I wouldn't suggest drinking through a straw though.

Hi Hugo! Welcome to MFP...I'm sure you will enjoy it!!:drinker:

Way to go MIL! She's lucky to have a cheering squad in her corner, I'm sure she is just as proud of you!

Don't throw in the towel just yet. I would suggest making your diary public or opening it to your friends. I have mine public and it helps me stay on track. Are you tracking your sodium and sugar? I knew sodium made me retain water, however, I was not aware that sugar had the same effect. You could also be gaining muscle…

Keep cut up and ready to go fresh veggies and munch on those when you feel the urge to eat? Everytime you think you want to eat do 20 sit ups or jumping jacks or push ups? I like to munch on things when i'm watching tv....popcorn is a good snack if you get it without the butter and 94% fat free! Good luck!

Welcome! I think you are going to love it here!! :drinker:

Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well again! You have worked very hard to get to where you are and you deserve to take credit for each of those pounds you shed! Fingers are crossed that your lapband issue will only last a brief period. Feel better soon!!!

cabbage rolls.....yes, it is only 9 am....but I am having a serious craving!

"Kitty", tho that may confuse him. I have heard "Bug" and 'who haw" also

Be cautious of how much sugar and sodium you consume. Those 2 things can make you retain water. I would also suggest drinking more water to flush out your system. I bet it will be gone tomorrow

I have a big dog, a Rottie/Shep mix. He's 8 years old. He was limping and not wanting to walk a few months back too. Apparently he had sprained his leg when he jumped off the bed. He WILL NOT wear a brace or any such thing on his leg so it took some time to heal. He occasionally limps now from time to time. Hopefully that…

Unless you ate everything in your path this weekend then I would guess you didn't really gain 7 pounds, but you are retaining water. Did you eat foods with alot of salt and sugar in them? I wasn't aware that sugar makes you retain just as much water as salt until I joined MFP. My suggestion would be to drink ALOT of water…

Hello from New York!! :drinker: Welcome and good luck!!

find someplace that has salad. I don't think Subway salads are bad....but the meat is high in sodium so maybe just get a veggie salad or very little meat.

Good job!!! They say it gets easier each time to walk away. You've got this!!:drinker:

I eat pasta all the time and so far so good. My famiy eats dreamfield's pasta. My dad is diabetic and even he can eat it without it messing with his levels. It doesn't have a "healthy" taste to it it, it tastes just like regular pasta. I would give it a try!

yes...my mother makes the most amazing pumpkin cookies ever! I don't have the recipe as I am at work at the moment but I will get it for you tonight!
