  • From one Hawkeye to another, you look fabulous! Congrats on your continued success and keep up the great work! GO HAWKEYES!!
  • This is always going to be a touchy subject for a number of people. Full disclosure: I had the lap-band in December 2011. I'm 5'8" and 35 years old. At my highest weight I was 270. I am now about 15 pounds away from my goal of losing 108 pounds. Every day, and I mean EVERY DAY, I question whether or not I regret my…
  • This is hands down the best thread I have ever read on this site. I am absolutely mesmerized!
  • Thanks for the support! I saw my surgeon yesterday and he removed all the fluid, so I'm back at zero restriction. The good news is I felt better almost instantly. He still wants to do a barium swallow / x-ray this weekend just to make sure there is nothing serious going on. My goal will be to lose these last few pounds and…
  • No worries. My issues eating have expanded to issues even drinking water for the last 36 hours, so I made an appointment to see my sugeon tomorrow morning. I'm going to ask if he recommends removing some or all of the fluid in my band. I hope it's just irritated and not something worse.
  • Thanks, that is helpful! Congrats on your success! I'm hoping to hear from others who are also at/near their goal. Do you stay at your current level of restriction? Remove it all? Remove some?
  • Can't help it. I  me some McD's. I've lost 54 pounds eating there 5 days a week for breakfast. Fruit & maple oatmeal and a Sugar Free Vanilla Iced coffee. 410 calories and 4 Monopoly game pieces.
  • WOW! You look so much younger! I don't know how old you are, but your "after" picture almost looks like it could be the daughter of the "before" picture! And I do sincerely mean that as a compliment! What an amazing transformation, you have much to be proud of!
  • One other thing my trainer recommended one time - just to mix things up a bit - is to do the elliptical with a backward motion. I don't mean turn around on the machine, I just mean move your legs in the opposite direction. It takes a good amount of the pressure off your toes and works your muscles a bit differently. I find…
  • I'm in a similar situation...visiting the family in Iowa for two weeks, including 3 football tailgates! I made it through the first one unscathed, thankfully, and I've actually managed to continue losing. The mobile app will be your best friend. Keep logging, even on the bad days, and keep up the exercise and you will be…
  • I loved (note the past tense) mine. Sadly, it went through the wash after only a couple of weeks. Soooo bummed. Not sure I want to buy another one since the little bugger is so light and so tiny I think it's inevitable that it will take another bath. =( Perhaps a HRM is better for me.
  • I just bought one recently and I am still getting used to it. It is not a heart rate monitor, so you may want to consider another device if that is important to you. Good luck!
  • What does NSV stand for? Sorry, I'm not up on all the acronyms.
