Welcome! This is a great site! It's a great place for encouragement and motivation... Congrats on the 4 lbs!

I think I'm going to have to try this! Thanks for sharing!

WOW!!!! Nice job! Can't wait to be able to post the same for myself! (today is Day 1...so I have a LONG way to go!) How long did this take you?

In my opinion...it's just more processed psuedo-foods. It's so much healthier, and CHEAPER, to just eat healthy...fruits, veggies and lean meats. And like the others have said...it's only "good" for the time you do it. It's not really conducive of a lifelong change...

@tsydow.... I can't believe I didn't even think of dehydration! That is a very good possibility! Not only do I not drink enough...I hardly drink at all. I seriously go days (up to a week), with little more than a sip of water. Usually when I drink something, it's soda. I know, I know...BAD!!! It's a serious addiction. I do…

YAY!!! that's one-derful!!! can't wait to join you in that club! lol

I have noticed the Weight Watchers scales to be accurate. I have several different friends with them, and when I weigh at the different houses...they are all the same. Good to know! =) You can find them for as low as $25 at Wal Mart. Good luck!

Thank you for the ideas! Nina74...you rock!

HI! I live in MI too, but very close to Monroe. About 45 minutes to an hour. But, welcome to Michigan! =)

lol...I'm sorry, but this made me giggle!!! I can't answer the questions on here...but I wish you luck and hope it works out in your favor...whichever direction that is! :flowerforyou:

Allergies suck! As I sit here sniffling and sneezing, dealing with a summertime cold, and looking at the inflammation of where my tonsils used to be... I kind of wish I could just get a quick shot and keep them away. At the same time, I'm not keen on the idea of submitting myself to a constant drug. I would much rather…

I usually gain 2-5 lbs a few days to a week before. Then it drops back down, sometimes plus another pound or 2, within a few days of starting. I was on the depo-provera shot for a few years, then still didn't have another TOM for almost 2 years after I stopped the injections. My periods have gradually gotten worse since…

Not in a healthy way, or in a way that would last. It would be all water, you would feel like crap, and it would all come back and then some even faster. If you only need to lose 12 lbs... is it really that significant??

Looks awesome!!!

I understand the concern people have about the show. And with good reason. However, if you read more, other articles...you will learn that is one contestant's bitterness toward her own experience. I personally know 3 other contestants. They will tell you that you know up front what you are signing on for. They are well…

Welcome...good luck....and good for you!!! That's a big commitment!

Welcome...and good luck! Yes, many of us are here pretty much everyday! =)

LMAO!!!! you rock!

Dirty girl!!! LOL Though, I gotta say...I probably would have played it up too, at that point!

Though I agree with the main concept of what you said here, some of your points are a little off base. Paleo is not a "fad diet". It is very much a lifestyle. It's just that the average person in today's society would have a difficult time adhering to it 100% for the rest of their lives, for several valid reasons. This is…

This is why I had "processed" in quotes. It is all natural, at least the stuff he eats. But, since it is a packaged, commercial food, some would argue that it is still "processed". =)

My brother is on a Paleo version. He has dropped weight like crazy! But, his Dr is concerned because it went so fast. His diet really doesn't consist of much at all. He pretty much lives on grilled (plain) chicken breast, white sweet potatoes, avocado, eggs and nuts. Once in a while he will treat himself to a Buffalo steak…

Same here...for the 2 weeks before, I am fat and miserable! But, once it finally starts, I usually go down 2 or 3 lbs. It's a little disappointing when it usually comes back up 1 right after, though. I think it's good to be aware of how your body reacts to TOM.

Is 1200 the calorie goal MFP set for you? Are you logging your exercise and eating your extra calories that it gives you? If not...you might not be eating enough. There are several factors that could be causing the issue. I gained 4 lbs at the beginning too... I think your body needs to adjust to change.

I've had to approach it this way: When you're just hanging out, out of the blue, mention your CRAVING or "addiction" to *fill in diet soda here*... Plant the seed of what you actually want. He sounds like a pleaser, so I am sure he will remember it and be sure to get you what you WANT to make you happy. =) **Soapbox alert:…

LOL...me too!!!

Less alcohol content and a LOT less taste! *yuck* I'm with you...I'd much rather work out to earn the real stuff! =)

cheese, cheese and more cheese....and anything with cheese in it or on it! I have this severe craving for mac-n-cheese...the baked kind with like 6 different kinds of cheese and ham in it! OMG!!! oh...anything Mexican... :ohwell:
-
Does she know how you feel about her? Because, quite honestly, I wouldn't want to be your MOH. Maybe she feels obligated...or maybe just assumed she was it?? I was "overlooked" as my best friends MOH because I couldn't afford the responsibility. But she didn't tell me that was why she didn't ask me. She didn't tell me…

Black beans, ground turkey, corn and zucchini with some fajita spices...started off as enchilada filling, but I liked it better just by itself! I'm just learning to like beans. I have a texture issue with them. But getting better about it. I do LOVE letil soup though!!!
