Have you read anything by Gretchen Rubin? She talks about moderators vs. abstainers. Moderators can have "just a little bit" of chocolate, chips, anything, and be fine. For me - I'm an abstainer - because one bite of something like that and I'll just keep going. I know lots of people say moderation is the key, but I truly…

You look amazing! WTG!

I just found this on another post: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/pregnancy_calorie_calculator.htm

You probably need to eat more than that. Calcuate your TDEE and add 300. http://www.fitnessfrog.com/calculators/tdee-calculator.html For example, I'm eating 2200 calories now in my first trimester based on my current height, weight, and activity level. In my second trimester I will increase to 2500 calories a day, and I…

I work full time and have a 3-yr-old daughter. Many evenings after work I put her in the jogging stroller and walk and run for an hour to hour and 15 minutes. She loves to be outside, it's great bonding time for us because we can talk, and I get my workout in. I typically burn anywhere from 400-700 calories on our…

That's a great NSV! :)

I'm 5'11" and weigh 183 currently. My first goal is 175, and ultimately I'd like to get to 155 just to see if I can do it. I'd be fine ultimately maintaining my weight between 160-165.

Great job! You look fantastic!

You look great! Well done!

Ooh, sounds great! Thank you for posting!

Thank you. I have totally gotten rid of regular yogurt and am doing only Greek yogurt now, which I love. Will try the cottage cheese too. I think it will be helpful for me to keep a list of healthy foods that fill me up and give me some protein, cottage cheese being one of those.

IveLanded - what's your breakdown percentage-wise of fat, carbs, protein? Just curious...
-
freckledrats - You made some great points - thank you! And I think it's better not to eat the exercise calories, because you're right, then my deficit is less.

So then should I truly eat all of the exercise calories back and just net to 1600? Actually, I just did calculations on a TDEE calculator site and it said that I should have net 1490 calories each day. So maybe I do eat them all back and just lower my calorie goal? This is so confusing! :)
-
My goal is 1600 a day and I log everything. Actually, I don't ever go over 1600 for net calories. What I meant was that I may end up cosuming 1800 calories, but my exercise brings it back down, so I net anywhere from 1300-1600 calories daily. My nutrionist had said not to eat back exercise calories, but I've been hearing…

cmhudson75 - go to my home --> goals --> change goals --> custom...you can change your % there.

I'd like to lose 2 lbs per week but don't think that is realistic. I'd be happy with 1 - 1.5 lbs per week at this point - anything!! :)

I think too, that if you cut out too much of the yummy stuff that's not low-fat or fat-free , you'll just gorge on that food because you're treating it like it's bad and you can't have it. A few of you said it - moderation is key. That said, I prefer skim milk over whole milk, so for some things, eating lower fat or fat…

According to MFP, my daily goal for sugar is 26, but that seems nearly impossible to stay under. Today I've already reached 27 - the breakdown for that is: 8 - Coffeemate 2 - granola 3 - blueberries 14 - yogurt So it's not terrible food, but just more sugar than I realized.

I'm sorry to hear that - that's so not cool!!! Some people are so rude and clueless. We need to think of some good comebacks for those comments. (Someone asked me when my number 2 was due today too...though he didn't rub my stomach. But it still stinks...)

You ladies look amazing! Thank you for sharing your before and after pictures!

It does help! Thanks for the responses. Fruit is pushing me over today (or maybe it's the other things with lots of carbs!). A pear has 25 carbs!!

Truth be told, it was a busy day yesterday so I didn't do anything strenuous. But I made myself do a quick abs workout before bed so I could do at least a little something. Tonight is yoga!
