I make up my own frozen meals -- I'll make a pot of turkey chili, soups, pasta and sauce and then portion them into freezer containers. Then I take out a few each week and take them along to work. I do label them with the contents and calories. I also use the receipe builder here to figure out the calories per serving. So…

You can save a lot of money if you buy plain, fat free yogurt (the regular old kind) and then strain it. I take a large container and let it sit in a wire sieive over night in the fridge (its over a bowl). All the excess liquid comes out and you end up with basically greek yogurt. I can get a large container for less than…

I do that -- I track my total calories for the week and how much I've used day by day. I try to stick to 1200-1400. My target per MFP is 1200. I do plan on at least 1000 additional calories from work outs during the week. It works for me. HTH

The sodium is a killer in restaraunt food. If you will be weighing in on Tuesday evenings, I would figure out a good menu for Mondays and Tuesdays and stick with it. That way you're taking out other factors that could affect the scale. For me over doing it on sodium sticks with me for a couple days -- thats why I'm…

Here are my thoughts -- when my daugher was little (she is now 7) at home there was always healthy food choices. Always a veggie with dinner, lots of fruit, lean meats ect. As she grew she did have her phases where she would ONLY eat mac and cheese or chicken nuggets. I was able to get healthier versions of these foods,…

I think everyone has given great advice. My initial motivation 6 years ago was my daughter - I did not want her raised in a house where her mom was always dieting and whose weight was always up and down. I focused on making our house healthy - very limited sweets, lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains. This no only…

I was diagnosed in 2000. What I have found over the years is that as long as my levels are in a range that is good for me (under 2 is where i'm best), I don't have a problem losing. If your levels are in the right range for you, you should be able to lose. If you are not losing have a discussion with your dr. Anything…

HGC is making your body think its pregnant -- when pregnant your body uses fat stores to help your baby. Be careful with any hormone injection as it can throw off your whole system. See a Dr -- don't buy it on line.

Personally, I think if you look to "Cheat" your setting yourself up to fail. I look at it this way - some days I'm well within my calorie target to lose weight. Some days I choose to go well over. I still write it all down and track the calories. I need to be honest with myself - I'm looking to make a lifestyle change.…

I need to have protein at breakfast. I've been either having 2 boiled eggs (140 cal) or one egg and oatmeal (220 cal). I then plan on fruit mid morning.

CMRIVERSIDE -- Thanks -- I looked into the zig zagging. I'm going to set up a schedule where in a week I hit a target that includes my workout calories. I love the idea of it.

Thanks everyone for your feedback!!! I may just add a 100-200 extra on the following day or 2. I have time to do a good long workout on tuedays, saturday and sunday. I actually do about 6 miles on the eliptical in 60 minutes. I do think the 750 the machine tells me is a good estimate. I also walk daily for a 1/2 hour.…

My 7 year old will pretty much eat most things that she can put into dip -- I found Maries FF dill dip one of her favorites. Its been easy to get her to try different veggies as long as she can dip it. If you find a ranch or some other mild dip they like, that might be a way. A good example - she'll eat carrots and dip,…
