  • I use the chicken soup exclusively to make mashed cauliflower. After boil/steaming 4 cups of cauliflower, I drain almost all of the water, add the chicken soup powder, garlic powder, dried onion flakes, pepper, and sea salt, beat with a hand mixer and you've got a filling meal that knocks out your veggies for the day!
  • Did you check with your clinic or provider to see if they do a trade-in/exchange program? Mine as well as most that I have heard of do.
  • I completely agree, and brilliant idea switching to phase 2. I kept losing on phase 2, and phase 3 for that matter!
  • Congrats!
  • Started Phase 4 last week and, I'm not going to lie, it's a challenge for the simple fact that I'm no longer in ketosis therefore I get hungry! I honestly think I'm a carb junky. It's like how do you tell a crack addict "OK, it's now time for you to smoke some every day, just don't smoke too much." Roger that.
  • Very adroit observation. So true!!!
  • By far the most dramatic transformation I have ever seen! Awesome job!!!
  • Hi Tara, I have lost all the weight and started phase 4 officially today. I lost a little over 50 pounds in 5 months, and it was pretty effortless compared to calorie reduction. Welcome and best of luck to you!
  • I was scared too! Carbs are my kryptonite!
  • Thanks. Actually, the losing part was easy, I even lost 10 more. My challenge is being off food restriction. I tend to be an all or nothing sort of dieter. Being out of ketosis feels weird..
  • Sea salt on everything! The salt helps you retain water. Remember water follows salt (from college physiology). :drinker:
  • I'm here! Almost 4 years and 'aint going anywhere! I meant to also thank you for the heads up on the keto group!
  • My best advice is to ignore the negative comments you may get from people when they hear you're on IP. If I had $4.75 for every, "it's so expensive!", I would have 6 months worth of packets on my shelf. My simple answer is, it's cheaper than high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, backaches, etc.!
  • Healthy nachos is an oxymoron lol! Sorry, I couldn't resist. :)
  • Hi wknmom, It's not likely the potassium actually, you may be a little dehydrated. Make sure you get that salt in. Someone suggested adding some salt to your water, that will definitely help. It will help you hold on to water. If you're not big into all the salt, you can sneak it into some unexpected places. Adding a dash…
  • What a transformation, congrats!
  • Hi! My coaches have said no exercise that requires exertion, because you will start losing muscle. Muscle is a big deal because your heart is a muscle! Insanity is probably insane at this point, lol. Yoga and walking are perfect choices. I do yoga and Pilates 2-3 times a week and it's been really awesome. Just think, as…
  • Congrats! Have you tried Jicama? I pretty much am obsessed with it because it tastes like sweet, juicy apple! You can even sprinkle cinnamon on it, and if you want it sweeter, add some Splenda. Another thing I eat that mimics fruit for me are yellow, orange, and red bell peppers. They can sometimes taste like watermelon.…
  • Woo hoo! That's a great problem! I highly reccommend VS's 'Lacie" panties. They, believe it or not, or one size fits all, and they are so comfy! They will see you through all weight changes. Best panties ever!
  • I have to totally agree with this. When I was doubtful about being in ketosis, my coach indicated that if you're not hungry, you're there. For me, my energy level has increased SIGNIFICANTLY. That and an increased sense of well being. I have a super stressed-filled, physical, long-hours job, and at 52, I have more stamina…
  • I don't use either one of those at this time. I do yoga and pilates 2-3 times per week and I don't deduct calories, simply because I am in P1 and should not be burning a lot of calories. At least that is what my ip coaches have said. I know some folks on the forums have said that they add a packet if they are doing…
  • Hi Sharon, The very last part of that url got cut off. What is the last piece of it after _supplement_O ? ? ? and, OP, try to put that $80 into prospective. It's less than $3 per day. Folks easily spend that amount on soda, or Starbucks, or vending machine items per day. When I share with coworkers or friends that I'm on…
  • Hi Sharon, That's a great change! I am thinking it's because of the increased protein intake. The biggest change for me is my sense of well being and energy level has gone up. I was a carb junkie. I would eat healthy and sensible all day, then carbs and sweets at night. Come to think of it, I don't think I am shedding as…
  • Me too! I've been on the protocol since mid May and LOVE IT!!!
  • Track on here and just hand my phone with my diary up to my coach. Log vitamins, exercise, water. :)
  • How did this runaway train even get into the Food and Nutrition topic?
  • I work at a hospital where many of the doctors are on it. Everyone has had excellent weight loss to the point where some look a bit gaunt. If it were not so expensive I would definitely do it. You have to be very disciplined as it is very restrictive. For example in phase 1 you can't even chew a piece of sugarless gum!
  • Wait. How is it hard to eat 1200 calories? Are you saying that you are absolutely stuffed full, or is it a mental thing where you think 1200 is too many or that less is best? If you're not able to come up with 1200, which is what your body actually needs, you simply add healthy fats like raw nuts, avocado, olive oil, etc.…
  • Yes please Seriously, if there were a pill, or drink that made people lose weight, then pretty much everyone would be thin. With the exception of a very few people, losing weight takes hard work and discipline. There's no way around it.
  • I read somewhere that the riper the banana, the more sugar content.
