  • This is such misinformation that I laughed when I read this. Google Common Sense Keto. It's run by a nutritionist who specializes in Keto. I have been following his Keto recommendations for the past month. I eat 2500 calories per day, 235 grams of fat, 60 grams of protein and 20 total carbs because NET carbs is nonsense. I…

  • Just started back after a year and a half off. I wasn't injured, just having personal issues and the jerk off I was seeing at the time was discouraging me from it because him being in the army made him think he had superior fitness expertise. I really missed the lifts.
  • Um, you should do what is right for you not what your boyfriend thinks is right. Maybe work yourself up to that speed.
  • Yeah, you can cut suger. You know, the refined sugar in candy, sweets and other baked goods. Congrats on being a nursing major. Guess what, I'm a nurse too. Yes, you need a certain amount of sugar for brain function but guess what? You can't completely cut sugar from your diet. It's in fruits and some veggies. A certain…
  • I haven't been logging my exercise lately. I've really only done it as an experiment because I wear the Fitbit HR when I workout so it will pick up calories burned regardless of whether or not I log my workout. Depending on how many calories I burn, I will eat some back but not too many as I want to stay at a deficit.
  • I work during the night 7pm to 7am and scheduling break time to eat is unlikely so I usually pack my food and eat throughout my shift. If I know I'm going to be going into work at night, in the morning I will workout and eat a snack or small meal because I won't be eating again until 4 in the afternoon. It's very difficult…
  • So I guess 4am will be my cut off time for food then. What about on my first day off after a stretch? What time should I return to a "normal" eating schedule? After a nap? I usually try to get four hours of sleep in then make myself wake up to get my body adjusted to a day schedule if I'm going to be off for a few days.
  • Ugh, why would anyone do that to themselves?
  • You may need to increase your calorie intake. Sometimes, it's that your body needs more fuel, not less.
  • Yeah, alcohol makes you retain water. I noticed that since I have cut back on drinking I don't feel as bloated. It used to be that I would have a glass of wine or two or three every weekend. And that was two months ago. I've had a drink here/there but nothing crazy. I've really cut back since April though. I was in a…
  • I'm not really a fan of those challenges. I think squats are most beneficial and give better results when done with weights. I agree with a previous poster who said to look for Stronglifts. It's simple routine and requires only 25 reps and is done with weight. Don't be afraid to weight-lift. It does awesome things to your…
  • I was just going to ask if you are eating enough. I started back on MFP this past week as well. I started my calories at 1400 but increased them to 1900. There is no way I would be sane eating 1400 calories and doing CrossFit, kickboxing as well as running and biking.
  • I've fallen into the bad habit of drinking diet coke again. Sorry, it's not any healthier than regular soda just because it doesn't have any calories. I've found that it makes me crave sugary foods so I've been cutting back a lot and honestly, I suggest that. Maybe a can every other day but not every day. Anyhow, I am…
  • I'm not sure but I highly doubt any of the "trainers" at PF are certified. I would be quite hesitant to take any advice from them. The "only cardio burns fat" thing is a total myth. I stick with basic lifts such as squats, deadlifts, overhead press (or push press), and bench press. I think those are the lifts used from…
  • I just joined Planet Fitness for the winter. I work midnights and the mornings I have off I am usually up early around 5am so I figured I could get a workout in before taking a nap before work. I've only went one day so far but I just joined this week. The cardio equipment is pretty good. It's the same equipment that…
  • I'm a nurse that works night shift too. I notice that I get more depressed throughout the winter months as well. Last year, I started taking vitamin D3 which seemed to help. I had gastric bypass four years ago. My initial labs prior to surgery showed a vitamin D deficiency and my doctor was doing a study linking obesity…
  • She has great recipes. I didn't care for the protein ice cream because it never turned out right when I made it. I do love her brownie recipe and the coffee mug cake.
  • Thanks so much. I just don't want my body to go into starvation mode and be stuck at the same weight like I had been prior to joining MFP.
