They are not bad for you perse, but they are a very starchy vegetable, which is why they say it is healthier to eat the sweet potatoes instead, which has less starch in it. Eating it every once in a while will not hamper your weight much though

I think you made the right decision, as there is NO WAY you would be able to stick to that strict of a diet for a year, not to mention the vitamins and minerals you may be depriving yourself of by completely excluding fruits. I say stick to what you know you will be able to maintain for the rest of your life, which is…

I am with you. Been eating much healthier for a month now and have only lost 1 pound. I have also been exercising 4 days a week for over 45 mins per session. I feel your pain and I am right there with you. Fell off the wagon BIG TIME this week because of my frustration and finally realized that I was only harming myself by…

Hot sauce, definitely!!! Last week I took a salad to work and forget the salad dressing at home. I threw some hot sauce on it and instantly fell in love with how it made the veggies taste. I am hooked for life on it

Thanks for all the replies guys. It is just frustrating to feel that you are working so hard and putting in all this effort and see absolutely NO results. I did a thyroid test earlier this year and it was fine, so no problems there. I really do not eat back most of the cals that I burn because I am not a big eater. Will…

I am so frustrated myself that I don't know what to do anymore!!! I have been at it for over a month now and have only lost 1 pound so far. I see other people posting 2 lb weight loss a week and my scale just seems stuck!!! - I drink at least 10 (8oz) glasses of water per day. No sodas or juices pass my lips anymore - Only…

I am having the EXACT same problem. For the last 2 weeks, I have been dieting and exercising and have lost 0 lbs!!!! I have given up trying to figure it out, I do feel better and I do feel lighter (whether it is my mind playing tricks on me, I don't know) and that is what's important.

I usually allow myself to have a cheat day once a week, which usually ends up to be on a weekend. This method helps me to stay on course during the week knowing that I will be allowed to indulge a little on the weekend. Hope this helps

I think that every body is different so I suggest you do what works for you. I personally do NOT eat back my exercise cals but I have seen that some people say that they have lost weight doing the opposite. Try both and see and GOOD LUCK!!!

Welcome and good luck. We are all struggling to some degree on this site, to are now a member of a VERY exclusive club LOL. Add me if you wish and just remember to take it one day at a time. You didn't gain the weight in one month, so you can't expect to lose it all that quickly either. A little patience, a little…

Hi and welcome!!! This site has been very helpful to me and everyone I have made friends with so far have been really nice. Feel free to add me if you wish and good luck!!!

Actually, I live in the tropics and I have this problem as well. I drink at least 11 glasses of water a day and still have overly dry skin. I think the older you get, the less hydrated your skin becomes, so I guess it is lotion for now and for all eternity LOL

I have been having the SAME problem, eating healthier, exercising at least 4 times a week and no weight loss!!! :(

Having a SMALL piece of grilled steak with a side of roasted squash, zuchini, mushrooms, baby carrots and corn. YUMMY YUMMY!!!!
-
Small multigrain pita bread stuffed with green peppers, mushrooms, corn & carrots and 2 thin slices of chicken breast. YUMMY!!!!!!!!! This has become my new addiction over ice cream. Could not believe that ANY food could be better than Haagen Dazs ice cream but this DEFINITELY is LOL

The EXACT same thing happened to me last year. I was 4 pounds away form my goal last year and threw it all away. NOw I am back to where I began last year and fighting to stay motivated to begin this journey ALL OVER AGAIN!!! I am so tired of my weight going up and down it is not even funny
-
I am in the EXACT same spot as you are. Have lost only 1 pound over the last 3 weeks and I have no motivation at all to continue. I am still holding on though, but I feel so lost right now.

Same here girl, was just telling my co-workers that ALL my friends are married or engaged to be married. I have -0% social life due to this, but I shook off the sadness and depression, and decided to concentrate on me for a change. Stopped smoking, started eating healthier and now starting an exercise program and I feel a…

My doctor told me the same thing, but I refuse to believe him LOL. I weighed 104lbs in my 20s and I now weigh 123. When I told him that I wanted to get back down to 104 he asked me if I was crazy LOL.

Fiber keeps you feeling full longer, so you consume less calories. I love the instant flavored quaker oatmeal packets for breakfast and I try buying whole grain products with at least 4 -5 grams of fiber per serving (like What Thins multigrain crackers). And of course, fruits and veggies does the trick. Brown rice and…

Welcome and good luck on your journey. There is no magic formula to losing weight, just eat more whole grains, lean meats, fruits and veggies, aim to workout at least 5 days a week and the pounds will melt off, trust me!! Oh, and don't forget to keep hydrated (at LEAST 8 glasses of water a day) and cut out all sodas and…

I think you should take it easy today and give your body a chance to heal itself. There is always tomorrow.

Wow, that's amazing progress. Congratulations and good luck

Every day, right now I am fighting the urge to head home and turn into a couch potato. If I only slack off on working out for more than a day, I lose the momentum to keep going :(
-
This site has really helped me to stick to the healthy eating plan and the daily workouts like never before. The support system is amazing. Good luck

For my chocolate fix, I turn to Jello's fat free chocolate pudding cups. One cup seems to always be enought to satisfy my cravings. At 100 cals, it works for me

I hate yolks, so that would be perfect for me. Thanks for sharing

Welcome Allison and good luck on your journey

Hi Jenny and welcome!!! My advice is, choose what you like to do and what suits you best, one particular exercise does not suit everyone. The main thing is that whatever you choose has to be interesting and liked enough for you keep doing it over a period of time. Good luck and we are here for you
