I have found that the protein bars I buy satisfy my craving for chocolate. I get the Pure Protein brand from Wal-Mart (s'mores flavor, mmmmm) and it's almost like eating a candy bar. 180 calories and 19 grams of protein which if you're working out you will need anyways.

I must be lucky. I haven't seen any negativity in my group of friends. Heck, if anything we tend to post things less about food and more about life in general. We even got a little smack talk going on when it comes to our local sports teams. Good luck to 'ya in weeding out the negatives.

Congrats on losing the 45lbs. so far that's no easy task! I do find easier having friends on here especially when I see how many calories they're burning compared to me. It kinda motivates me to do better. Good luck on your journey!

As far as the calorie recommendations I believe that MFP use various numbers inputted by you in order to come to a daily calorie recommendation. These include your height/weight/pounds you want to lose/ and activity level. Using these numbers the program gives you a recommendation based on a loss of about 2 pounds a week.…

Hello from a Packer fan! For me, artemisacorn's answer is the philosophy that I've been following. With the calculator the way it is it makes me feel less guilty when I am hungry and do eat more than I normally would. Go Pack Go!
