  • I agree with fitzman84. I grow a ton of muscle in deficit. It's not ideal, but it happens. In fact almost all my muscle growth was done in deficit and I'm pretty muscular at the moment. You just have to work out the muscles and eat protein, protein, and protein. As far as burning more calories from muscles, it's true, but…
  • Because I live the most interesting life you've ever seen - and I'm kinda fun too.
  • Eat them back. How long have you been at this? I've noticed it sometimes takes a couple weeks for my weight to change once I get into the program, then I'll drop 4-5 lbs and 1/2 inch suddenly. Give it time and it will work if you're keeping accurate calculations.
  • +1 You're in this for the long haul. Frankly you will probably burn more calories today since you're moving around more than usual. But really. Don't over-complicate this thing. Just track your calories and eat what MFP suggests for your goal.
  • If you're not hungry, there is no need to eat your calories back. I find that I go through days of not needing the calories followed by days where I just can't do the 1k deficit. Eat when you're really hungry and don't eat when you're not. That said, there is something to be said about eating before you get too hungry…
  • No. You will want to eat the calories back. This website expects you to log food AND exercise. It then adjusts your calorie limit to let you eat more if you burned extra calories working out. There are alternatives to eating the calories back, but I find that I more consistently lose weight without starving when I aim for…
  • 4.5 but certainly higher after a few months using this site.
  • Because she wouldn't go out with me in the first place. O.O
  • Beautiful Thanks Below. BTW, I was friends with Rick Zumwalt when he was alive.
  • Bone Fish Grill's lobster tail meal (1 tbs butter), salad (2 tbs honey mustard), broccoli, and tea. $15 on Tuesdays and a grand total of 604 calories, 46 grams of protein, and 682 mg sodium.
  • Water is good for you. In your muscles, it actually helps you do more reps before the lactic acid builds up (creatine does this on puprose0. The scale is not a good measure from day to day, but is slightly more useful for week to week measures. I will often fluctuate 2-3 lbs from day to day. A much better way of…
  • Bodybuilding.com has really good workouts. My personal favorite is a 5 day split (http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/wotw41.htm - 3rd place routine), but they have routines for every split you can think of. You might want a 3 day split with kids. I would personally save money on day care and buy some duct tape instead.
  • There are alot of replies here so I don't know if this has already been said, I would suggest doing what makes you feel better. Feeling good about yourself is what makes people attractive. Personally, I don't like the gray hair. It makes me look older than I am, so I color, but I color with something that doesn't…
  • It was mostly low calorie. Very rarely would I eat anything with a ton of calories. That said, I took a week off (no working out and increased my consumption to maintenance - although I wasn't that hungry). I lost 9 lbs! Plus I feel better. I had been working out 6-9 times per week while eating a 1k deficit since August.…
  • Now that I've done some research, I'm beginning to believe Starvation Mode is a pure myth. That said, I definitely needed to reset my diet so it was nice to have a cheat 1.5 day before going back to my rather strict 2lbs/week reduction. Here are my problems: * I think being on a restrictive diet caused me to slip on my…
