  • I find that when I went to add extra stuff to my cart (or my mouth) it's helpful to pause and ask myself, "What's more important really? These chips or my goals?" Also, you'll feel really proud of yourself if you keep your will power and like 30 minutes later your chip craving will likely be gone anyways.
  • Appetite for Reduction became of favorite of mine in no time! Best part is that the nutritional info is all right there so it makes logging really easy.
  • I just got 30DS in the mail and plan on starting on Sunday. I don't have a heart-rate monitor so how do you guys log it as a work out? I was thinking calesthenics - vigorious effort. Thoughts?
  • Ugh... you know what I really hate at the gym?? Insert long-winded list stating how they are basically better than all other gym-goers.
  • Hello! Feel free to add me, I'm just easing into veganism but have been adding some vegan friends on MFP for general inspiration and support. I also found a couple vegan groups which are good for recipe exchanges and what not - Team Vegan and Happy Herbivores. :)
  • I was just thinking earlier today about how I've seen veganism referred to as an EXTREME diet or that is something EXTREME vegetarians do. I just don't think it really is. It's just a choice.
  • Not not sure on the sugar thing. I need to read up and get all my information straight before I do anything. One would think natural sugars would be OK but we'll see. I also do think not drinking for 3 weeks would be good. I drink just about 2 days a week right now but taking a break could be a good thing. Wish me luck!
  • I do see your point on how if I don' t have a gluten sensitivity, then I'm not cleansing anything per se. That's not something I had actually thought of in that particular way. I do have a problem though were pasta is always my go to meal when I want something fast. If nothing else, staying off of stuff like that might…
  • Also, I'm open to adding new vegan friends on here to share diaries, stories, and motivation so please add me if you'd like!
  • Hello! I'm Bridget and am in the process of easing into veganism. 2 years ago for Lent I went vegan but fell away from it after Easter. Lately I have been reading more and focusing more on my diet and have decided to open the vegan door again. Since December-ish I have been phasing out one meat at a time. I found it's much…
  • Love this. Let's not forget the magic powder you can sprinkle on your food to help you lose weight. Those commercials drive me nuts! If there really was a magic pill/potion/powder out there to help you lose weight with little to no effort, no one on Earth would be fat!
  • Congratulations!! This is amazing and you are beautiful. :) It's definitely easy to throw in the towel after a little slip up but you're right, you just have to keep going. Best of luck with all your goals, weight and otherwise. :)
  • This is a major acheivement!! Congratulations!
  • Hm... I'm intrigued by this...
  • One of the best things I've heard for when you're thinking, "Hey I had a bad day I deserve to splurge," is to remember that you do deserve to relax and be happy but your body doesn't deserve all those extra calories. I also try to remember how guilty I feel sometimes after indulging too much.
  • The Orange Hi-C from the McDonald's fountain with lots of ice. I swear it has magical healing powers but it has to be from McDonald's.:drinker:
  • Also, going to one meeting doesn't mean you're making a huge commitment, you're just observing.
  • I recently went to an AA meeting to support a friend who had gotten a DUI. They have open meetings where anyone can come and you can just listen. In fact, if it's your first time they encourage you to just listen on their website. I heard a few shocking things and a few helpful things. Maybe you have a friend or maybe your…
  • My gym (Planet Fitness) has several TVs mounted and you can hook your headphones up to your machine to pick which one to listen to. During the week if I can get there by 5:00 or so I give in my guilty pleasure and watch Dr. Phil while I run. It is a nice distraction when I'm doing like 40 minutes of straight running.
  • I agree. I hate it when I look up an item and see about 10 different entries for the SAME PRODUCT. If you already see it out there, don't add it again! If it's wrong you can always click the edit button to adjust it.
  • This is my goal too! The woman I like to go to has like a 3 month waiting list so I get to make my appointment when I'm 10 - 15 lbs away from my goal then I get to make my appointment, then I have to lose the rest to go through with it. It'll look better on a more slender arm anyway. :)
  • My cube is right outside a guy's office that eats these large size hard pretzels every day with his mouth open. The kicker is when he asks me a bunch of questions while eating it. I keep debating whether asking him to stop eating while talking to me is rude...
  • LOL, Sensa is by far the most ridiculous gimmick I've ever seen! Magic powder? Really, people?
  • The soup suggestion is a great one. Either homemade or a good canned variety. Usually low in calories and filling. Good luck!!
  • I completely feel this way. Sometimes I look at someone's small meal portion and just think, "Wow, how is that enough for them to fill them up? What's wrong with me?" The worst is how that leads me to feeling jealous and frustrated. Why do I have to log everything I eat and put constant thought into it? Why can't I just…
  • This is me too... but with a couple more "agains" and more like 30 lbs. For me, I just keep trying to remind myself that beating myself up for what's already done is pretty useless. Also, I try to remember that when I eat better and get exercise in I just feel better, mentally and physically, and that alone is worth it.
  • Love this! I'm taking back my ability to not impulse eat my emotions. Next time I want to binge I'm giving myself a time out to do something else I enjoy like reading a book, cross stitching, cruising Pinterest, etc. until the feeling passes.
  • Kind of the same story for me too. I was at Lollapalooza and drinking a beer. I walked up to a guy handing out schedules to get one. He smugly said, "Oh and one for him too?" looking at my tummy. Clearly he was disapproving of my alleged drinking while pregnant but I wasn't.... The worst part is that at first I didn't even…
  • I love this!
  • This is my office to a T! Someone always has something they brought in! The flip side is that if I ever have leftover sweets or candy (post-holidays usually) I can leave it in the lunchroom and it will disappear before 11:00 a.m.
