I posted this Bible verse on my cabinet. It has helped! "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." (1 Cor 10:13)

Can comfortably cross your legs under a table. <That was my first indication of significant change. Ladies, I'm sure you can relate.

Job well done!

Oh gosh no ... I didn't mean to suggest you are a "weightloss dummy" at all! You're clearly successful at it. My apologies ... re-reading my post I see it does come across somewhat abrasive. Keep up the good work!

Your numbers suggest to me that you have no clue what your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is. You can google how to calculate it. And just FYI ... I broke through a plateau in a major way when I started kettlebell training. AMAZING! I don't know if it was the kettlebells or the fact that I added something new to my workout,…

I personally don't agree with the "eat if you're hungry" attitude that a lot of people have toward weight loss. I believe that you should NEVER let yourself even get hungry. I call it "staying ahead of the hunger" which works well for me. My metabolism is "off the chain" nowadays; I eat every 2 to 3 hours a day. I'm rarely…

I have read EVERY response to my original post ... and while I don't understand some of the analogies (e.g., a speedometer in a car?), rationales, or why some folks got straight indignant by the mere question ... I appreciate your commentary! Definitely a timely topic! It is highly unlikely that I'll stop using MFP anytime…

Hello! My last relaxer was in 2004. I started my healthy living journey last September. My hair "matches" my lifestyle and I cannot image ever letting my hair be a hindrance to exercising. In fact, I just got back from the gym ... 'fro all out and gorgeous and I was getting it! Life is good!

Congrats, it's an amazing feeling! I just donated two large trash bags of my "former" clothes. I REFUSE to hang on to them out of fear that I'll return to that size. I'm never going back there!

Love it!

I don't have summer goals. I have lifetime goals. I'll just continue doing what I've been doing.

I always say ... you can't hide poor nutrition. Belly fat reveals all. You can exercise until you're blue in the face, eat "better", lose weight, but still have belly fat. Eating clean is the way to go.

Pan sear deli sliced turkey with your egg whites

Try water aerobics!! It is very low impact on your joints but don't underestimate the workout! You will sweat! I have a 6 year old right knee injury that has resulted in permanent arthritis ... trust me, I speak what I know

I exercise at a gym, but I have "stuff" at home, too: 1. Step risers - I'll watch television while doing a 45 in step workout. If you know some basic step exercises, you can challenge yourself and design your own workout. 2. Suspension straps - these are inexpensive and there are tons of at home exercises you can do with…

One more thing ... if you live near a major university, you should call to ask if they hold bike auctions. I live near a university that collects all the bikes the students leave behind at the end of the school year and holds an auction. Bikes starting at only $5!!

I definitely recommend a hybrid. I've been outdoor biking for two years now, and I bought my first bike at a yard sale. I "outgrew" it rather fast, and upgraded to a Schwinn hybrid I bought from Target. I made sure it had top notch components (e.g., shimano derailer) so it doesn't fall apart on me. I can bike ~30 miles in…

My usual ... egg whites with sliced turkey (pan seared) on toasted wheat bread. If you are a cheese person, you can add a piece of fat free cheese and this meal is still less than 300 calories. Sometimes I'll add 1/4 slice of cantaloupe. Yum!

Aaahhhh ... I'm crying with your  CONGRATS!!!

I agree with the commentator who stated you are not eating enough. Sure, you may be eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but what are you eating between those meals? Are you eating "small meals/snacks" every 2 to 3 hours? I used to think eating this often was ridiculous and there was no way I could lose weight by doing so,…

Yes! I believe it is important to treat yourself and have something to look forward to. I weigh in at home on Sunday mornings. If I hit my target, I allow the day to be a cheat day. Yesterday when I weighed in I hit my target, but my cheat day was a bit anticlimactic because now that I have lost weight I get full faster…

Yipeeeeee!! Congratulations folks!!!

Congratulations, everyone!!!

Do you have an AMT machine at your gym? You can burn a lot of calories in a short period of time. If you've never heard of it, just google it. It is a full body workout; I love that machine!
-
I never skip breakfast even when I wake up late. I will just eat something small/light for my breakfast (e.g., a slice of cantaloupe instead of my usual egg whites and sliced turkey).
-
You look wonderful! Congratulations!

I did it all: interval, fat burner and calorie burner ... and would consistently increase my resistance level. Still, I got to where I would hardly break a sweat. But once I discovered the AMT machine, it was like a match made in heaven!!
