You don't need meat for iron. Where do you think cows, horses, gorillas, etc. get their iron (all vegan btw)?? I've been a vegetarian for many years, and do just fine. I donate blood on a regular schedule as well.

I love them for breakfast! I am a vegetarian...going vegan, and it's a great way for me to get some added protein. I use different types of fruits, and add hemp protein powder because it's VERY neutral (doesn't affect the flavor a lot like whey). I follow the 'no meat athlete' blog, and he highly suggest a smoothie and…

I was diagnosed a couple of years ago for hypothyroidism too. I take the lowest dose of levothyroxine, and started feeling better after a couple of months. I am very anti-meds so it's the only Rx I agreed to take because it a natural hormone...no man made crap! Stick with it, and you should start feeling a change.

Add me too!

That doesn't sound normal to me. :frown: WebMD is always where I look for help if I can't go to the doctor. Hopefully someone has some good insight for you!

"Your shin soreness could be shin splints. Terribly painful and difficult to cure. It's possible that you are putting too much stress on your legs before they are ready. " I agree with this 100%. I helped a student loose 200 pounds and he had shin splints all the time in the beginning. It happened when we did sprints, and…
