Everyone is different. I was WAY over 50 pounds extra with my 3 kids. I had no issues with 2 of them, but my last I developed Gestational Diabetes. (Obviously I was older with him too and heavier...) My suggestion? Keep eating healthy and exercising. Even with the extra weight eating healthy foods and exercising is a huge…

Poppin' in for the suggestions!

Lots of good suggestions! I'd like to ditto eating a little more based on TDEE-20%. For months I was eating 1200-1300 calories and losing nothing, sometimes even gaining. I calculated my TDEE-20% and got around 1850 calories. Turns out when I eat around 1700-1800 calories I lose! It's strange, but maybe because I feel…

You're going through a stressful time. Give yourself some time and don't 'beat yourself up'. You're not messing everything up. A lot of us can eat (and should) more than 1200 calories a day and still lose weight. You're chasing a toddler! Sometimes that moodiness is very telling. Eat the 300 in healthy calories and no…

Stop buying those things that you snack on. It's helps lots for me! If the crackers and chips and ice cream aren't available then they can't be eaten. Oh, and I've taken up knitting too! LOL I've almost finished my 2nd scarf! What am I gonna do with all of them if I continue?!

Some days are like this. I've found losing weight and getting healthier is about learning to make changes, so learn from this...and adjust for next time. I ditto about the water and exercise. If I eat at McDonald's then I make more effort to move. It can be as simple as not sitting for longer than 15 minutes.

I'm not an expert, but wonder if you're eating too little? I found when I ate 1200-1400 calories a day I didn't lose and sometimes even gained, but then I upped calories to 1700-1850 I lose regularly. It's odd! And could it be that you're so close to goal (and I believe a healthy weight already) that your body just doesn't…

I have hypothyroid for years and years, on medication, tested regularly. And, for me, I only lose when I log what I eat, exercise regularly...and stay under TDEE - 20%. I'm not sure about the kelp as it's not thyroid hormones...

Awesome! All the best in your journey!

I got some 'curvy' fit at Walmart for around $20. They're workable. I'll get nicer ones when I reach goal and splurge! :)

I'm straight...but long for hourglass. :sigh:

Well, I'm certainly in the process of losing... Starting sizes: 26W stretchy pants, 3X (26-28) shirts Current sizes: 20W jeans, XL (18-20) shirts Goal sizes: 12 jeans, M (10-12) shirts

Perhaps you could offer to do the dirty dishes or laundry for your roommates in exchange for fresh veggies, fruits, eggs, or other healthier foods? I know it's a challenge right now for you, but maybe they'll 'deal' to get out of some housework or other things and you'll benefit too! I am much older than you. I have a few…

I'm 5'7" and have at least another 50 pounds to lose. Oddly, I lose very little on 1200-1400 net calories. I'm cold all the time, grouchy, no energy, and unhappy. I've done this for months before noticing I lost MORE weight eating more while visiting family over holidays...and reading about TDEE - 20%. I have been eating…

Oops! Try again! I'm too slow! 20?

I'm another JESSY! LOL I'm also a divorced Mom of 3 kids, ages 15, 12 and 9. I have about 45 more pounds to go before meeting my initial goal (although I might go for another 25 after). I sent a FR!

I'm in Maine. Sorta close? I'm about 2 1/2 hours from Boston.

From what I've read around MFP...Some gaining can happen due to building muscle and retaining water. Perhaps not enough calories to fuel your body and metabolism with all the exercise?

I eat less bread. Instead of sandwiches or toast, I have replaced them with other things like Greek Yogurt, eggs, protein bars, more veggies. Or I purchase Joseph's pitas and wraps from a grocery store which as like 5g net carbs. I also eat less pasta and rice and fill up on veggies and proteins instead. I haven't been…

You're already almost half way to goal! Yay! I'm a bored eater too. When I feel that urge coming on, I do a couple of things: clean the house...organize a drawer or closet...or go for a walk. The walking is the easiest. Even just 15 minutes of quick walking helps!
