Oh I definitely eat the food! :) And I get in rice cakes and a whey protein smoothie right after working out. Then more protein, fats and oats abotu an hour later.

One more thing...keep the weight on your heels and outsides of your feet...not on your toes!

Your knees should feel ZERO pain when squatting. I highly recommend watching some youtube videos for perfect squat form. It really helped me to perfect my squats. Mehdi has an excellent youtube video out there on squat and deadlift forms. Make sure you really puff your chest up, lats flexed and shoulders pulled down and…

Yes, def. lifting heavy weights to retain LBM. :) I've heard that cutting dairy out can help some people, so I might try it. That and the fact that when I eat it, I just don't feel as good as I used to when I ate it before, if that makes sense. makes me feel kinda bloated now. Or maybe that's the 400g of broccoli I eat at…

Me too. I prep cook on the weekend and have everything portioned out in the fridge to grab during the week. You can view my diary if you'd like, but here are my basic meals, with very little variations: Meal 1: oats and almond milk plus a whey protein shake with cod liver oil and raw cacao nibs. Meal 2: 0% fat, plain greek…

I am wondering, though, if eating lean dairy prodcuts is keeping me from getting leaner? I eat fat free greek yogurt and low fat cottage cheese. Anyone give up dairy and notice that they got leaner? Might be something worth trying.

LOL!!!! Me too!

Thanks! I'll check it out!

Awesome!!!!

Actually, you and I eat almost the same way! :) I like your idea of a carb at night...what do you eat before bed? I've been sticking with protein and fat at night, but I am thinking of doing more carbs at night. Any good tips?

Thanks for letting me know that it is a slow process. I am actually getting used to that idea already. I have learned to be very patient and know that if I do things the right way, it is just going to take time. And I'm 38 years old, so things just move slower now! :) So glad you have seen such great results! I'm feeling…

Show her all kinds of articles online about the benefits of squats. They truly are the best exercise out there!!! Maybe you can change her mind. :)

Thanks everyone! I will stick with the sprinting for now after I do my Stronglifts and just see how I feel as time goes on. Putting on muscles is more important to me than running right now, so I might just switch to walking fast. We'll just see how I feel. Thanks for all the replies.

EXACTLY!!!!!

I have a question...how do you do "Good Mornings" and touch your toes? What am I missing?
-
YES! I'm sorry, but the word "tone" makes me cringe! Like another poster said...just lift some heavy ****!!! Fill up empty water jugs with sand or water...fill up some bags with sand...there are so many ways to make heavy things to lift.

I don't have the video, but I have the book. Not sure of the differences between the two!

Thank you!

Thanks!!

You might want to chek out this girls website: http://muffintop-less.tumblr.com/ She lifts heavy...I don't see any major muscle mass or bulkiness on her! :) Website has lots of great info on it.

What is the app called? I couldn't find it.

Honestly, I don't do Jillian Michaels dvd's so I can't comment on that. If you are lifting weights correctly, you should also be getting an amazing cardio workout from it! I am a sweaty, wiped out mess when I am done working out with weights. Especially with just doing compound movements!

Thanks, Jess! I'll send a friend request.

Totally agree! Women are so afraid of building muscle and getting bulky! I just don't think most women realize how really difficult it is to put on muscle mass!!! Lifting 5-10 lb weights is a waste of time, IMO. Go for heavy lifting, sticking to compound movements - pull ups, deadlifts, squats, overhead presses and bent…

You can't spot reduce unfortunately. Try walking lunges, squats, deadlifts, etc...all with heavy weight to add more muscle. The more muscle you have, the more fat your body will get and the leaner you will be! And no, you will not get bulky from lifting heavy. If you are doing leg workouts correctly, there is no way you…

Nice lifts!!!! That rocks.

Totally agree!

HIT is the only cardio I do! Whether it is sprinting, or mixing up different exercises. I love it. Look up some Tabata workouts....love those! HIIT is best for losing fat and keeping muscle on. Long durations of cardio is just not good if you want to be muscular as well!

Lose the smith machine for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!

SUCH a pet peeve of mine! I am 5'10". No idea what I weigh...I don't weigh myself anymore. Don't care! :) Haven't done a bodyfat test in a while, but last time I did (last Summer) I was at 21%. Still trying to make that lower! :)
