This happened to me last year during a heatwave. Has it suddenly got hotter where you are? I cut out booze and salt for a few days and the swelling all went down. Hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

Great stuff. Good luck with your journey x

There are lots of non-meat or dairy protein sources. There are fantastic grains and pulses that you can add to meals or have instead of a carbohydrate, like quinoa, lentils, beans, split peas etc. They are great in hot meals and salads. You could add beans or chick peas to stews and curries, or sprinkle seeds over your…

In my experience, if I don't log and count my calories, then I underestimate what I am eating, and therefore eat more than I should to lose weight. Even healthy food does not make you lose weight if you eat too much of it. Logging soon becomes a habit, and is really enlightening when you see what you are really consuming!

Firstly fruit and veg are carbs, so I guess you are referring to things like pasta, rice and bread. Secondly you don't mention protein, which is essential for curbing hunger and fueling the body. Lean meat and fish, dairy, eggs, nuts, seeds, pulses, soya etc. Make sure you are getting your protein.

Well done, that's great news!

I used to love adding them to salads. Till I had an off one - only discovered when I bit into it and it was all black and rotten inside. Never been able to face them since! Shame really...

I create a recipe listing every ingredient I have used. I measure the total volume I have made, and measure out my serving, and work out what fraction this is. For example, if the total of the ingredients is 600 calories, and I have a quarter, then my portion was 150 calories. Same with any meal I'm likely to cook again to…

Who does that? I do! I weigh everything. It's the ONLY way to be accurate and to stop yourself guessing (and underestimating) your intake. And it really doesn't take long does it? Digital scales are my friend.

Basically no, it is not enough for long term health and weight loss, although it is a great start. I would add in some exercise and ditch the beer!

One of the things that has helped me the most is to buy the smallest portions of treats, snacks etc. I always eat to the end of the pack, so if the pack is small I stop! I have a supply of treatsize chocolate bars, mini wrapped cheeses etc for when I feel the need.

I eat what MFP recommends for my height/weight loss goals - 1470 cals. I try to eat good healthy meals, but have no issues with the occasional meal out (even a McDonalds... shhh!). I eat treats almost every day but fit them into my calorie allowance. I have very little desire to cheat or binge as I don't deny myself…

Did you add ice? Ice cold drinks are negative calorie so don't forget to add some back to your total.

YES!!! Me too! I finally got below 30 BMI! Well done x

I had a reduction from a J to a D and they removed 6lb from each one. I lost almost a stone overnight!

I am literally rolling on the floor laughing. Which, incidentally, IS a good way to lose weight. Along with a sensible, calorie controlled diet.

4 Krispy Kremes... I struggle with more than one now!

I did exactly the same this week and downed 850 cals of Minstrels instead of lunch. I actually felt too queasy to eat again so came in at my calorie goal and have lost 3lb this week. Maybe it even did me some good! Though I won't do it again in a hurry... Hopefully! Good luck with the rest of your journey, and go easy on…

From an elderly lady, upon seeing my newborn twins for the first time "Oh, who would have thought you two would have such lovely looking kids!"

This! I made it and it tastes fabulous! My 11 year old leek hating son didn't even realise it wasn't pasta!

How about shopping with a friend and splitting the 2 for 1 deals? Especially on fresh items where you may not want or need 2 of the same thing.

I have a Maxitone Strawberry shake made with skimmed milk for breakfast before going to the gym. I didn't like it with water. It keeps me full about as long as anything else I eat for breakfast (porridge, eggs, cereal, toast...), so I usually have a little snack mid morning. I don't like having them for other meals as I…

It has been described as Fatorexia - seeing yourself as slimmer than you are. There has been a book about it, and a website. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-1267883/Fatorexia-In-mirror-Sara-saw-slim-woman-Just-problem-17st-So-deluded.html

100g of couscous and pasta have the same calories. They are both made from the same ingredient - semolina (durum wheat).
-
You could try various beans, lentils, pulses, quinoa, tabbouleh, bulgar wheat... Or eat more veggies. Or eat a smaller portion of rice or pasta. You all know that couscous is the same as pasta right? It's made from semolina, from durum wheat.

Pizza Express do a Legera Pizza in a few flavours. It's a full size pizza but with the middle out, replaced with salad. Lovely and only 500 cals.

How about arranging a clothes swap with a load of friends? Make sure all shapes and sizes are represented and bring a load of stuff to swap round. Most people, including you, should end up with something new that fits you.

You can also use crushed up crackers instead of breadcrumbs. Wholegrain, gluten free, whatever.

Canesten Hydrocortisone is best for sweaty creases, especially if they turn into a yeast infection. Clean the area, dry thoroughly and apply cream. Don't use scented bath products and wear loose fitting natural clothes as much as possible. No tights! Baby powder can help if it is just sweaty, but always clean it off…

I think you should look at what you HAVE achieved and not at what you haven't. So, you're possibly going to be 1 or 2lb off your goal, but your weight can vary by that much each day anyway. Try to be positive. You are not failing, you are winning.
