Congratulations!!! That's a fantastic time (especially for a first 10k!). Keep it up!

I love this! I'm going to add you on the sheer awesomeness of this thread. I have spent years loathing myself for one reason or another, and I'm done with it.I have said it aloud numerous times. I'm not trying to say it in a rude I'm better than you way, but more like I have conquered those demons and love myself for who I…

I always have my music with me- and I run in my neighbourhood all the time. I use both my earbuds, but I make sure to keep volume low enough to hear the traffic. I've never had issues with that more with the drivers of said traffic not paying attention to rules of the road. Try it with one earbud and see how it goes. The…

Anyone can add me- I'm on here everyday and I love encouraging others! (being encouraged is nice too!)

I was in the Dominican a couple of weeks ago, and I ate what I wanted. I brought snacks with me, and ate some, but chose to enjoy the food there. Even after drinking my body weight in pretty drinks, I still ended up pretty much even on the scale- due to the swimming. You are on vacation- enjoy yourself. Have no regrets!

Welcome back! Just take it one day at a time- and I know you'll reach your goals. I'm going to send a friend request!

DId the Weight Watchers thing myself. I was very successful (I lost 70lbs with their help). I have kept all my 110lbs weight loss off for five years now. I left because the meetings were getting super repetitive, and found that it wasn't matching my goals anymore. I also despised the fact that they changed the program. It…

Didn't even know this challenge was out there! But I burned 1330 cals on a 19k training run (11.81miles!) Congrats to all who met the goal.

I'm 29- will be 30 in July- would love to meet new people and be an encouragement! I've lost 110lbs and have kept it off for almost 5 years now!!

I'll have to check them out. I've been wearing just regular sports socks from Wal-Mart and for the most part they do the trick, but I happened to do 19k today and ended up with a blister on my toe.

Agree with everyone here. Just do it. Goal setting is important in weight loss and in fitness. You will be sooo much stronger both physically and mentally after it. You are stronger than you think, listen to your body!

I ran two half marathons (which included another two practice races) last year, and am training for my next one which is on May 26. Agree with the shoes and socks. I'd recommend Body Glide as it does help chafing. Also if you are going to be fueling during the race (gels, drinks, gummies- whatever you choose), make sure to…

I did WW in 2007, this helped me lose an additional 70lbs to the 40 I'd lost previously. I mainly went because I'd been in a plateau for a year, and needed some accountability. I achieved lifetime, and went to meetings for about two years after that. I lost the weight on one of their older programs, but believe that if you…

Toss up between chocolate and Peanut Butter. them both. For a non-food object, my running shoes. It's my stress relief!

This has been an entertaining thread! I will add you as a friend!

I work at a grocery store, and I do my best to come to a resolution for the customers, but sometimes I wonder. This is a situation that happens on a regular basis. Customer: I bought this item (most of the time it's fresh meat), about a week ago, went to cook it and realized it had a bad smell (after or during cooking).…

Congratulations on taking this step! I'm sure you will have plenty of success. You are definitely an inspiration to me!

^^^ this. It is about a lifestyle change, changing the way you relate to food. Fill out the MFP profile as accuately as possible. I'd set it to lose on avg 2 to 2.5 lbs per week (as by your post you mentioned that you wanted to lose 100). If you're not ready for that, just try logging your current diet to see where you're…

I'm also a Christian, will be 30 in a couple of months.

Try to stay busy.. But the best thing I've found, is drinking tons of water and staying away from refined sugars as much as possible even when I'm not PMSing. I find that cuts the cravings in half. But if you are craving something sweet/salty, try having 3 bites of whatever it is you're craving and do something else for 20…

Hi, I am currently 29 (will hit the big 3-0 in July). When I was in my early 20s (22 to be exact), I weighed 250 lbs. I joined a circuit gym (Curves) and started to lose weight. It took quite a while (lost the weight over a course of 2 1/2 years), but I managed to lose 110 lbs, and have kept it off for almost 5 years now.…

I have worked only one overnight shift before- good on you for being able to work that shift on a regular basis. The only advise that I would give you is to eat your heavier items (steak, spicy food, starchy carbs)- earlier in your day. If I eat a really heavy meal before bed, I find it real hard to sleep. Try to eat a…

I work with a trainer a couple of times a week, though due to $$, this will be the last sessions I purchase for awhile! The trainer I currently have is the second one I have tried. If you are thinking about hiring one for some sessions, make sure to interview them first. Make sure to explain your goals in detail, and ask…
