I stopped buying blocks of cheese because I would cut off too big of chunks and eat it plain. Really dense in calories which is bad, even though I'm 23 I found out I have high cholesterol (its heredity...but still, I need to watch fat intake). I buy finely shredded cheese and use it lightly or I use laughing cow cheese…

Height: 5'3.5" At my heaviest: 175 Currently: 168 and in a size 8-10. Goal weight: 145 (23 lbs to go!) I'm short and husky and I enjoy lifting weights, so I think 145 is a good goal weight for me. Muscle weighs more than fat.

Congrats! You look great!

Good job!!! Keep up the good work! :-)

I also eat around 1000 calories a day, I've played with my calories and the weight does not come off at 1400+ calories. I'm sure it has something to do with being short and having a lower BMR. :-) Glad you found what works for you! Keep up the good work.

Both of these people in the photos have the same body fat percentage. Do you just want to get "skinny", or do you want to get in "shape"...the number on the scale can only take you so far, you should incorporate weight lifting into your exercise routine. Your metabolism is based off your body mass, the more healthy body…

Its calories in vs calories out. BUT, try to avoid "empty" calories, eat nutrient-dense foods that your body needs. Fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean meats, etc. Its okay if you have a craving to eat what you want, but just not all the time. The good food has to outweigh the bad food.

You should watch this youtube video, this guy, Brad Pilon, talks about the common misconception of heavy people. Its very enlightening and it makes sense. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7qZEbqr3PwM

Hot tea with splenda, or crystal light (my favorite is orange) with cold water. Both are sweet and can help hold you off until your next meal. (This is what I do anyways, and they're both low in calories!)

1. What's your height/ weight? I'm 5'4" at 168 lbs (heaviest at 175 lbs) 2. Do you get REALLY REALLY hungry during the day? If not, was there an adjustment period? I used to be obsessed with eating a meal every 2-3 hours and exercising like crazy...but I really struggled to lose weight by eating so much food! I had…

I'm in nursing school, 7.5 hrs of class 5 days a week plus 2+ hours of studying every day. No time to work so I'm surviving off of loans and oatmeal. :-P

Good job!

I'm 22, college student. :) Also could use some motivating friends.
-
I definitely could lose 10+ pounds! I'm in!!!
-
Are you lifting weights? Maybe you have lost more fat than you think and you appear smaller, but only lost 10 pounds of weight because of muscle growth/strengthening. ???
-
Yeaaahhhhh, you will probably end up becoming a taxi for the person....
-
You look AMAZING! Congrats!

To me?? Not really important. Overall daily caloric intake is what counts, really. In fact, I've pretty much given up eating in the morning because I feel fine throughout the day without it. I usually just drink some water and I'm good to go. Get an idea of what works for you. Workout on a empty stomach and see if you have…

Just as long as your being honest on MFP and about your calories. Don't let it get out of control. :) That's how some people gain all their weight back is by letting "cheating" get out of control.

There are lots of ways to lose weight, but you need to find what best fits in your lifestyle. I just started a program called "Eat Stop Eat", which is intermitted fasting. 24 hr fasts, 2 times a week. I've tried weight lifting, running and eating 6 meals a day but I always ended up over eating and not losing any weight.…

Smaller portions......

Read books while on the ellipitcal or treadmill. Or bring flash cards with you while doing cardio. You can kill two birds with one stone. :)
-
Yep, I use mine for cardio and strength training. Mine shows how many calories I burn during my working. pretty sweet!
-
I'm 5'4", 170 lbs and a size 8 in pants......but I lift weights, so it all depends on your own body.
-
....you spelt pronunciation wrong.....I suppose that would be a good example.

Milla jovovich........just so I would be safe when the zombies come.

I'm confident academically and in my work, but not as confident when it comes to my body image. I'm still working on that. :-) Though, I'm not afraid to go to a gym and workout in spandex. You can't just walk into a gym and look amazing, it takes time and work. Everyone has to start somewhere. :-)
