  • Sending friend requests now! I'd also like some friends that are in the same boat. =)
  • Hey Iris! Love your profile pic =) I'd talk to your doc, too. I didn't get much of an answer from mine as far as exact calories, and she didn't seem too concerned about weight gain as long as it's relatively close to the expected amount. My OB's advice was centered around eating nutritous food more than how much to eat. I…
  • Welcome and congrats! Four babies is impressive! Must be lots of fun. =) This is my first and I'm terrified...
  • Welcome! I can relate with the heartburn & indigestion. So much fun! Congratulations on your pregnancy =)
  • I desperately hoped the sea bands would work, but they did nada! Nor did ginger ale (or anything else ginger for that matter). About the only things that kind of helped were strong mints and lemonade. And my taste in food changed dramatically! For a normally clean eater, sometimes the only thing I could hold down was a few…
  • How's everyone's morning sickness going? Mine hit hard at 7 weeks and when I was told it was likely to last through week 16 or 18, I thought I would never get through it! I'm a couple days shy of 17 weeks now, and feeling better about 80% of the time. Seems like every time I tell my husband I'm feeling better I get hit…
  • Thank you both for sharing. It's good to know that I'm not alone in what I'm feeling. I'm almost seventeen weeks and have seen the baby twice via ultrasound. Both times were pretty surreal... There was a twinge of excitement that dissipated almost immediately back into the "oh no" sensation I've had all along. Sheepotato,…
  • Hey everyone! I'm due June 11th also. This will be our first. We've been told we're having a girl, but I think it was too early to be sure (that was at 13 weeks) so I'm not counting on it just yet!
  • I'm @ 17 weeks and finally starting to feel human again, at least about 70% of the time... Doc cleared me to continue with lifting weights, so that's a huge YAY! And now that I actually feel like doing it I'm easing back into that routine. I plan to continue weight lifting the whole time, unless something unforeseeable…
  • Pretty sure I've posted here before, but here I go again! Age: 33 Height: 5'-2" Heaviest: 150 Current: 131 (I'm also preggo - normal weight is @ 125) Goal Weight: For now, just want to gain at a reasonable rate, then get back to @‌ 125. I love weight training and dislike cardio, other than the stuff I do for fun and not…
  • Sunny southern California. An hour from the beach, the desert, and the mountains. An amazing place to live!
  • EDIT: Wow. After reading a bit more I figured it's best to just delete my entire post...
  • The suggestion to have them not tell you the size is a good one, but if you're like me you're going to look for it at the first chance you get. I'd suggest that you focus on the dress and not yourself. If you find one you love but you're not satisfied with the way you look in it(yet), know that you've got time to work…
  • Right on! Now you get to enjoy the payoff for all your hard work.
  • Lovely, amazing story! Congratulations to you on your massive success! All that hard work paid off, big time!
  • It annoys me on rare occasion... But mostly I don't mind. More than anything I see tracking my calories & macros as important - just as important as tracking how I spend my dollars.
  • For whatever reason, when a person loses weight it seems to cause people around them to think it's open for discussion and comment and critique. It's unlikely that you'll be able to stop people from commenting and critiquing, but you can reply in ways that let them know that their comments are unwelcome. I find that not…
  • Lots of good stuff in there ^ I agree that you need to remember that you have choices. You can choose to binge or not to binge.
  • I'm shocked at the number of commenters that mentioned a stranger touched their belly thinking that the commenter was pregnant. HOLY CRAP. Seriously? Strangers touching you because they think you're pregnant? Who thinks that's OK? Yuck. Rude and creepy.
  • 22.5" and I LOVE them. I'm short, too (5'-2"). But no one will ever convince me that "thunder thighs" is an insulting nickname for me. I love my legs. Thank you, Romanian deadlifts and Bulgarian split squats!
  • I have always been pretty small up top, and losing weight and lifting has definitely made me smaller. But I can't do anything about it, so I don't focus on it. I do, however, focus on how awesome my legs, abs, and booty look! Why be unhappy about something I can't change when I can be thrilled with my achievements?
  • Great story! Congratulations on your multiple victories =)
  • Yes. #1) Protein. #2) Fat. #3) Fiber. I love a homemade chicken bowl with grilled chicken, beans, and avocado (and a huge bowl of steamed broccoli/cauliflower on the side). I'm good to go for hours after that. For snacks in the evening I'll eat tuna, string cheese, or hard-boiled eggs. Keeps me from mindless munching…
  • Figure out your maintenance TDEE and eat at that level. Weigh your foods accurately as much as possible, and track everything you eat so you know you're within budget. And keep your body moving!
  • Feeling like a boss when I get done with a session. Doing things that I never thought I could do (or even thought I shouldn't do). Achieving, after only 2 months of lifting, the changes in my body that I really wanted and didn't get with years of cardio. Catching people scoping out my guns or being told that my legs are…
  • This thread has been like a trip back to my hometown!
  • I think this is good advice. I don't know if it's unethical (people drink loads of caffeine and energy drinks just to get through their "normal" jobs) but I do think that this comment gets to the real point. BTW, as a reporter in progress I tip my hat to you big time for being able to hit 250 - 300. Friggin awesome.
  • At first I struggled with not having a goal. I know maintaining weight IS a goal, but it felt like I didn't have anything to work toward. I couldn't track progress. My "goal" was to remain stationary after my previous goals had been to go someplace. That changed when I stopped focusing on a number on the scale and starting…
