  • i like zumba for the wii. you can do 20mins, with warm up and cool down and burn over 200kcals. i haven't tried the dvds though, but i like being able to fit in 20mins here and there, in between my daughter's naps and playdates!
  • if you're making it into soup, you don't have to peel it, just remove the seeds and chop it up!
  • i'm a really big fan of tasty wholesome soups. not too high in calories, either thick or chunky your choice. i tend to have some for lunch each day. its easy to make, fat free and will freeze in plastic containers so you can cook in bulk. i have the calorie allowance to ave bread too so find it a really filling lunch,…
  • feel free to add me! i can't really believe tis is working but i've lost 13lbs in 4 weeks and i'm still eating cake and chocolate! it can be a bit time consuming logging everything that passes your lips, but it works! good luck ali xxx
  • i hope you stick with it. i've only been doing it for 3 1/2 weeks but i've lost 11lbs! yes it is a pain having to log everything you eat, but i've found it really helpful to be able to plan what i'll have for dinner then decide on breakfast and lunch to fit in with the calories. i've still been able to have cake,…
  • my husband has literally loved me through thick and thin! i weighed 168lbs when i met him and have been every weight between there and 258lbs over the 12 and a half years we've been together and the only reason my weigh bothers him is because it bothers me. we have signed up to mfp together and as previous junk food…
  • It depends on how many calories you get for the day and what you eat for the other meals and snacks throughout the day. If i knew I was going out, I would think about what sort of food I might be eating and work out the approximate calories in it. Then I would try to eat as few calories as possible during the rest of the…
  • hi there! i have similar problems. i only work part time and have an 18month old daughter. i can't afford a gym membership or child care, but i use zumba on the wii and circuit training dvds. each of these can be done in 20 minutes bursts and i do get a good work out. i try to fit it in during my daughter's naps or i get…
  • my friend used an app called 'my ideal weight' and at 5'6 it said she should weigh 158lbs which sounded a lot more realistic to me!
  • curried lentil dahl? haven't got the recipe but my mum makes it and it's delicious. its from the f2 cook book, if you wanted to try to google it?
  • like other people have said, you've taken the first step just by coming on here! i'm fairly new at this too, but it is working, 9lbs down in 2 weeks! give me a yell if you need me, i'm here to help xxx

  • oh dear :( feel free to add me if you want someone who only says the things that need saying, not just wtg! i didn't even know what that meant before i came to this site! anyway, your goal is proably to lose weight, not make friends, right? xxx

  • hi there! welcome. i too am a mummy, but my little girl is 18months old, so you've got one up on me in that you're making changes this early after having your baby! i've only been doing this 11 days but have already lost 7lbs and have found it quite easy. i've still eaten the same things as the rest of my family and…
  • i'm 30, does that fall into 'your age'? i have never written wtg in my life, i'm english! feel free to add me if that would suit
  • my daughter weighs 28lbs and her pram weighs even more than that. last monday i walked for 30 mins down hill then 35 uphill. i looked at the distance that i'd walked then worked out how fast i must have walked. i logged the exercise as just 'walking at 3.5mph' because that was more calories than just 'pushing a stroller'…
  • i only joined yesterday and i'm already an addict, plus i'm logging on and tracking food and exercise for both me and my husband!
  • hi Janet, i'm Alison- consider me your buddy! just being on here shows you have made a start. needing to lose weight for health is the best reason i think. touch wood, my weight hasn't affected my health, but i know it has my husband's and my father's. according to all the charts and experts i need to lose about 80lbs, but…
