Please allow me to jump on this thread as I really need your encouragement. About 8 months ago I was introduced to Keto and enjoyed much success following posts from @KnitOrMiss and @fanncy0626; but I fell off the wagon getting ready for a Solo Art Exhibit and have gained all the weight back. Today is day One of trying it…

Hey Ladies and Gents! I recently participated in in the Keto four week challenge and am now trying to find another group. Mind if I join in with y'all? I am 65, fairly new to Keto, and trying to reverse (recent diagnosis of) type 2 diabetes. Ann from Alabama

So much still to learn but this group has been instrumental to learning this new WOE and helping me drop 6.5 (18 since Mar 30th). Thank you, Mary, for the challenge and to everyone who participated in any way! GREAT JOB! I will certainly miss your input and encouragement!

Thank you, so much, Sunny_Bunny and KnitOrMiss!! I rather to do what is right for my body than lose weight. Being new to this type of diet, I thought I needed to stay within my macros but what y'all are saying makes more sense.
-
For some reason I have been unusually hungry today (it may be that I increased the number of laps in the Olympic pool yesterday); but it is only 3 o'clock and I only have enough macros for a fatty cup of decaf tonight - yikes! Guess I will be going to bed early tonight (ha-ha).

My sons came home with their families all weekend. I made all their favorites (a double batch of sweet yeast rolls, banana bread, chocolate fudge with peanut butter, homemade biscuits, etc) but did not give in to the temptations. Empowered by this diet and the desire to reverse the new diagnosis of diabetes got me through.…

Happy Mother's Day to all you great gals!!!

I can't remember who but someone mentioned the book, 'The Keto Diet' by Leanne Vogel so I purchased it and have read it. There is a lot more options to Keto than I ever imagined. So happy to have found the diet and this accountability group!! Y'all inspire me!!

OMGoodness! After a three week stall, 3 1/2 pounds gone!!

The suitcase is unpacked with practically no damage done. Still no more weight loss but no gain either. Good to catch up with all of your posts. Keep up the great work!

KnitorMiss, thank you so much for the information and encouragement! Marcelyn, you are too kind! 65 is quite a milestone and I am sure you will be gorgeous when you get there! Great attitude, Chena83!

So I have packed the macadamia nuts and am encouraged by all your suggestions for traveling. Thank you everyone!! Another question for all you pros: I lost 12.5 pounds from March 30 to April 23 but have only lost 1 more pound since then. My macros are on track every day and am doing yoga, zumba, and swimming 2x week. Is…

Mary, troubleshooting next weekend is very important to me personally because I will traveling all weekend and am new to Keto. Suggestions? Thanks!
-
Weigh-in today was disappointing (gain .5 pound); but feel absolutely energetic today! I was able to tear into this dirty house, clean out closets and drawers and am about to go up to my studio and paint a portrait. LOVING this Keto diet!
-
You guys rock!! I can't thank you enough for the great information and encouragement.

So adding salt (suggestion from yesterday) certainly helped. Today was much better. Thanks again! Since I weighed yesterday plus added salt to my water, the scales will not see my feet today (ha!) Keep up the great work!!
-
Thanks, SuperCarLori! I will try drinking water with salt. Congrats on the four pounds!

Day three is almost complete and macros are fine; plus I am down 12 1/2 pounds since March 30th. Nausea has been my theme, though. Will baking soda and water do the trick or do I need to run out to find an antacid? Y'all are so encouraging! THANKS!! Keep up the great work!! Ann

Day Two (75%Fat, 20%Protein, 5%/carbs) done! Except for wanting something sweet (ha-ha), it has been OK. Looks like everyone is doing great! Ann in Alabama

It sounds odd but the hardest thing for me to give up is Coffee Mate Italian Cream creamer in my coffee. I have started the Bulletproof coffee but it will take getting use to it. It is quite the change but change is what my body needs. THANK YOU for all this info!!
-
Hey and thanks for starting the KETO challenge! I am a newbie to KETO but am very familiar with Dr. Atkins low carb diet. After reading a great deal of the information you posted, I am excited to give it a try. Thanks again! Ann

Hey y'all! It has been months (if not years) since I have been faithful to my diet and am so encouraged to read posts from ladies in my age bracket! Please consider me a new friend from Alabama. I am pre diabetic, 65 year old Nana whose grand babies are about to move seven hours away (boo-hoo!). Instead of eating myself…

Took many of your suggestions (in particular the Bulletproof coffee idea) and lost 4.5 pounds last week. I also lowered my carbs from 60 to 50 and it seems to be working now. Thanks again for your suggestions! By the way, I LOVE the coffee!!
-
Thanks so much everyone! By the way, I target 60 g carbs a day but will use your advise as to when to have them.
-
We are the same height and very close to the same starting weight. Your pictures really inspire me to keep working at it. While I am old enough to be your mother, I know I can still get this weight off doing the same type things that you are doing. Thanks for the inspiration!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!
