  • prayers bobbie! Got in 7 miles on gazelle today in less than 70 minutes. Wooohoo! Better than 10 min/mile! I think I am going to aim for another 10 mile run by Valentine's Day. Seems a reasonalbe amount of time to build mileage and not kill my leg. Enjoy the evening, see you tomorrow! Arianne
  • Great job everyone! Karen-hang in there, good news or not, you will pull through. I can't remember if I shared about my FIL- he had surgery to remove the tumor in Dec and the biopsy showed EVERY cancer cell was dead! The portion in the liver is inoperable, but they are hopeful they put it in remission. Better than the 6…
  • :flowerforyou: everyone hang in there! This is the halfway point for making something a habit (3 weeks)... you can do it! I had a great workout last night & today on my gazelle. My butt is actually killing me which never happens. Keep up the good work! Arianne
  • Bobbie, I sympathize; only I'm peeing at 28! :blushing: Kegels are my only hope for bouts of sneezing & serious laughter. Not too many problems while working out though. So it's a dreary, flood-watch day here in the mountains... didn't want to workout until I got on here and realized there is still hope if I do 45 min to…
  • Had a great run today; 40 minutes with what I think is becoming a chest cold. I have had a tickle in my throat for a few days, now a cough that hurts deep in my chest/lungs. Ugh, why is it when I'm motivated and on track, something happens to siderail me? :grumble: Rooting on my Buckeyes from afar, don't konw if I'll be…
  • Hey everyone. I had a terrible night at work; ended up in tears and mental breakdown. All good now, and thankful for today being planned "off" day. Trying sooooo hard not to gobble up all the junk for comfort. Will check in tomorrow!
  • snuck in a quick 3 mile run between jobs today. I guess waiting tables counts too since I never get a break or sit down for anywhere from 7-12 hours! Just scarfed down my dinner and will head to bed so I can do it all over again this weekend... I'm 2/2 on the new year with my workouts
  • :drinker: whooo hooooo! 2008 is OVER! That was a rough one for us, so glad to see it go. Sorry I have been missing, but got to go home for Christmas and am waiting tables on the side so been pulling a lot of double duty and no computer time. I broke 150 to start the new year and have an end goal of 120ish for this summer.…
  • Happy Friday! :flowerforyou: Wednesday I worked both jobs and didn't have time to exercise. Yesterday was our fall Sports Banquet, so I planned to splurge (as you have to eat what they serve, rarely healthy options) and had intended to workout... didn't happen. Back today, getting ready to go lift and maybe run on the…
  • Yipee! I got the ultimate compliment; from my husband! He always tells me he can't tell if I've lost weight 'cause he sees me every day. O.k., I get that. BUT, he saw me in my running shorts and said, "you're legs are getting thinner." :blushing: He noticed! Amazing what 5lbs can do for my appearance. If I stay on track, I…
  • :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Yea Melissa!!!! I remember how real seeing that tiny blip made it for me. I can only imagine how relieved you are after all you have been through :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Well, I got the "day" off (have to work afternoon/evening) so I got the munchkin off to daycare with dad, then crawled…
  • Ha ha  But since I'm only helping out through the holidays and then I have my real career, I get to screw them on the schedule! The owner is an old friend of my current boss, so it shouldn't be a problem. And then once school's out for the summer, I'll be free to work all summer (big money that lives here in their…
  • I'm with Viv- prayers for everyone. Karen, I totally understand. I disappeared last week/end 'cause they almost killed my fil on morphine overdose (literally stopped breathing, bp 70/30 or 40, etc.) I picked up a holiday & summer job waiting tables at a high end Italian restaurant. Should help with the bills and keep me…
  • Thanks Mary, yes, he is recovering. Not the outcome we hoped for, but he's still alive and the main tumor is out, so we''ll take what we can get! Meissa, hang in there. My girlfriend was on bed rest after a month and a half through until the birth, so I understand. If money is an issue and you think this one isn't a…
  • Glad you made a safe return Mary... 80? :noway: Sooo jealous, you can have our high teens this morning! Supposed to make it into upper forties today, so might get in a run for a change! Doing a plyometrics lecture today, so will be doing them over & over to teach the students. I hope i can walk tomorrow! Then going for run…
  • Ha ha  Yeah, I'm setting myself up for a killer day, but if I don't do it, I will never get back on track. This summer I was working out up to two hours a day. No wonder I put back on some weight
  • Hi! I'm back. Got to spend the entire week in Ohio for Thanksgiving and then spent this weekend down here at my sister & bil (my mom & dad and one of my bothers were here for the holiday). Spent yesterday recovering from no internet for a week! :noway: I had so many e-mails to respond to... Hope everyone had a wonderful…
  • Mary, you better take something warm so you don't get the crud that is starting to spread. I have been battling it since this weekend, feeling a little sinus drainage, but not too bad yet. I always end up with disgusting tonsil infections this time of year that involve blood & pus, not being able to swallow, and general…
  • Yea! First one here! Sorry I disappeared this weekend. Our school was hosting the conference volleyball championships and our men's soccer was playing in the NCAA national tournament... just been a little busy. I took yesterday off exercise (more like I took sinus meds that knocked me out before I could workout) but…
  • V- you'll be fine.. maybe a bit cold & wet, but you'll be fine (keep repeating the mantra  ) I had a great workout yesteday, and for you amazing push-up godesses, I made it to 10! Yes, you may beign laughing at my pitiful performance, but last week I could only do 6! And I am a perfectionist, so even the…
  • Another athletic trainer here (jimswmn, where are you in OH? Former buckeye here!!) A few things to try in addition to the tape job. 1)- ice massage fill a paper cup 3/4 full and freeze. Peel off the top edge of the cup to expose the ice while leaing some cup to hold on to. "massage" don't just glide it over your shins.…
  • :flowerforyou: Feel better soon melissa. If you're taking meds and not drinking your usual water, that's probably contributing to your crabbiness (most meds will dehydrate you). The walk sounds like it would be perfect for both of you! gmu, hang in there. Just remember the "good" days. They'll get you through the terrible…
  • Ooooo Melissa, so sorry for the week you had. Here's to a new one! :drinker: I fell off the wagon mid-week... period & a 2 year-olds' halloween candy are a lethal combination  I should have had more self-control, but I haven't eaten that stuff in so long I kept justifying each bite. I'm over it. I feel like crud and…
  • great workout this am. Busy days keeping me from eating all the time. Hitting cals for the week!!! I am looking forward to the rest of the week, how 'bout you? :flowerforyou:
  • Roni, I believe you posted about hating breakfast? I am there with you. I started using the generic slim-fast shakes last spring but have switched to Carnation instant breakfast. They are about 220 cals, but are well balanced, mod protein, and taste pretty good. Just thought I'd share. I mix it in a travel mug so I can…
  • Happy election day all!!! :drinker: Yesterday was a great first day for me. I actually had 80 cals left, and wasn't hungry! :noway: I had a nice 3-mile run, very rejuvinating for some reason. Monica, please be careful! I hope you have an amazing experience, but I'm with Mary on this one; watch out for the crazy people…
  • Good morning all!!! Welcome to the new faces  So my report on October: as a whole, it sucked! I never got my diet back on track, but did stick to my exercise for the majority of each week. I haven't gained/lost so that's good. I guess I'm truly a MFP addict who needs to log my food in order to be held…
  • Yes Mary, they are sugar vits, but half the calories of a bag of skittles! So I'll take the trade off! Trained yesterday and switched roles today: I made her do my lifting regimen for lower body. Now she thinks I'm evil too! I've had a really bad couple of weeks with food choices, but felt motivated to eat healthy…
  • Nice posts today ladies! That was a fun read :flowerforyou: Interesting twist with the wheat, it doesn't mix with fibro! My mom eliminated it from her diet and felt significantly better. She splurges every now and then, but ends up so "bad-day" that she regrets it. Just thought I'd share. I did my trainer session today and…
  • Mary-badass indeed :drinker: Melissa- with a hug, and everyone else who is battling the seasonal grunge, get well soon. Our little guy has the snots and was running a fever last night, but otherwise acts fine. Guess we'll see how he fares this week. I am amazed, I unintentionally hit my cals dead on!…
