I stretch every day. I take yoga classes 5 to 6 days a week and take Muay Thai twice a week. At the end of every Muay Thai class they make you stay for stretching. Its amazing for the body!!!

Timely topic for me. I had become so obsessed I would not sit down to eat until everything was logged, then I'd start manipulating my plate. Today I made the decision to stop counting for 3 weeks. I am very well versed on nutrition and portion control plus being physically active every day. I needed to give myself a break…

WOW!!! You are proof that sticking to a healthy eating plan while enjoying food works.

Love the ideas!!! Thanks.

I am starting again tomorrow. Missed fruit more than I thought and ate berries and apples. Feel a little better prepared this time and have lots of protein and veggies ready to go.

I did very well for breakfast and lunch. Broke after dinner and snacked including a bowl of old fashioned oats with berries. Today's eating looks way way better!!!

I am currently in the throws of fighting binge behavior myself. Never though I would find myself in this situation. It consumes your intentions, your hard work and your body. Seek folks who have offered to help and hang in there. Unfortunately I don't have any advice as I am in the middle of a major addiction war myself.…

I started Induction today. Very much a newbie to Atkins. I got a copy of the "New Atkins" book. I love the food list for Induction. However I found myself heavy in carbs and calories today. EEEEEKKKKK!!!! I must plan a little better tomorrow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated for all of us new to this program. but…

Couple of ideas... 1) Build active play with your daughter in every day. Take walks, play safe games where you are lifting her repeatedly with your arms and legs. The yoga studio I go to has a Mommy and Me class so you may want to google ideas for toning with baby. 2) Don't be efficient. What I mean is if you could take…

WOW!!! An inspiration to be sure.

I'm where you were almost exactly!!! By 500 calorie deficit was that based on what MFP gave you or did you use another calculation? Did you follow any type of nutrition plan (low carb, paleo, etc.)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

A good way to try all of these wonderful suggestions is to order and check them out at your local library. Then you can "try it before you buy it."

I created an exercise under "strength training" called Steps Per Day. I log it this way...1 "set" and the reps = the steps for that day. Then if you want to track the calories create an exercise under cardio called pedometer or what works for you. You can put 1 min for the time so it doesn't mess with your cardio duration…

Wonderful pointers. Those of us who struggle with binge eating definitely need to focus on # 4 and 5. Otherwise, the binges will be repeated.

I just tested IIFYM's calculator vs. Scooby's using the Mifflin... method and they were 3 calories off which is really good! Scooby allows for several different method calculations to be used and they will very widely.

Interesting take on jump starting weight loss. The long haul is loads and loads of education...of which I am still actively pursuing.

Okay you have a math / statistics background!!! :) Please run my numbers and I will be forever indebted.

I know and understand my BMR and TDEE. How / where to you calculate NEAT. I workout every day and recently started wearing a pedometer to ensure my NEAT is good...just don't know what NEAT numbers are.

I've fallen so far off the wagon I can't even see the wheel tracks anymore!!! Every day I wake up and swear to get back to business and be healthy. By 10;00 p.m. at night I'm starving and eating!!!!!! Sorry, no advice, just empathy.

I love this thread!!! I recently removed myself from the fear factor and 900 - 1200 calorie days and am enjoying great workouts and great food!!! Feel great!!! Look forward to an invite and thank you for taking the initiative.

Very wise advice.

Count me in!!!

Ditto!!!!!

BTW I wasn't using Chris Powells method...haven't read the book, but body building sites are full of great info. Body builders want to cut fat and not muscle so they are incredibly smart in how they approach nutrition and cutting weight with carb cycling.

I lost weight (2 1/2 lbs avg per week) carb cycling. I received some good advice on one of these postings to only have 2 cycles...low and high per week. I had 3. It made everything simple and I took off!!!
