A good rule of thumb is 1 dress size for approximately 10 lbs.

There is an excellent bra fitter at Macy's here in Boise, Idaho. She really knew how to fit them and spent an hour with me.

You should go back and review your profile. I found it pretty inspiring and maybe you will, too. If you only think about weight in terms of looks, you might be setting yourself up. How about health? Even though you're young, these are the years that you are setting your health up for what your later years will be.

I love seeing success stories like this because it makes me believe that I can do it, too.

Congratulations! What a great feeling!

I agree about the salt. Lunch meat has a ridiculous amount of sodium in it and that may be one place you are getting too much sodium which will definitely make you hold onto water and look like weight gain. When I have sashimi for dinner, no matter how little I have had for the rest of the day, I gain 1/2 lbs because of…

Marie - Fredricksburg is such a pretty town and great for walking. Glad you were able to do it. I finally got my project for work finished and now I am able to take a break. My husband, Charlie and my granddaughter Susannah are coming to my office at noon today and we are all going to lunch together. I enjoy it when we are…

I am not much of a cook, but I have found epicurious.com has good, easy recipes which help me stay on track with my weight loss. Last night I made the Brazilian fish stew and it was amazingly good! You can also print off shopping lists. Rotisserie chickens are a staple at my house as well. It's easy to make lots of recipes…

I was on deadline and was working like a mad man! Today isn't much better

You are doing well. It is hard to compare yourself with others. We all lose weight at our own rates. Also, don't doubt that you will get there. That is a sure-fire way to ensure you won't! Take it day by day.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I have been married to my husband for 40+ years and have a daughter, granddaughter, son and daughter-in-law. I moved to Boise 4 years ago to be able to spend more time with my daughter and granddaughter. I am a grant writer for poverty programs by trade and also an ordained minister in…

I am fortunate that my office has set up a work out room for us. I go in there at noon most days and walk on the treadmill. My nutritionist recommended rather than hard training, that longer exercise at a lower rate works better. I don't get too sweaty, but am able to walk during most of the lunch hour.

I would also like to join this group. I am getting ready to celebrate my 61st birthday. I joined MFP about a year ago, but didn't get serious about losing weight until the last few months. Since then I have lost 26 lbs., but have many more to go. My goal for the month is to get to 190.

I was diagnosed as gluten-intolerant a year ago. It was a tough year, but it is so worth it to not feel like that. There are lots of gluten-free pastas out there. The gluten-free bread is iffy, but I have found one I like. The good news is that eliminating wheat from your diet will hasten your weight loss. If you really…

We are having a big snowstorm even as we speak (write)! My 20 minute commute turned into 45 minutes, but at least I made it in. Several people in my office didn't. I am fortunate that my office has installed a workout room in one of the storerooms and I can work out there.

That makes a lot of sense. My daughter wears a size 2 pants, size 0 tops and I know that I weighed less than she does when I was her age and I wore a size 5-7. Also I have noticed that size 18 pants are the same size as 16W. I have pants and skirts in my closet in a very wide range of sizes.

I am going by BMI. While I do care a lot about the looks part of it I care mostly about the health part of it. I want to get my BMI into a healthy range. The goal weight I set is based on that.

When I go to buffets, it helps to remind myself that this isn't my last meal and that I will have many more wonderful tastes and I don't have to have everything I want RIGHT NOW.

Your post reminded me that I also had, perhaps "fudged" my weight a bit on my drivers license (okay a lot) and I just looked and today's scale reading reflected what I put on my license! Wow, I didn't think I would ever see that again.

Congratulations! When I went to see my son recently his mother-in-law said, "My gosh, you've lost a ton of weight!" It does make you feel good that someone notices!

I was having that problem, too...only for 6 months instead of 2 weeks. I switched my diet around and removed all grains (on the advice of my nutritionist) for a month. The weight really started coming off again. I just needed to jump-start the system again.
